Melanie Rae (Edgar) Wendt was born on August 11, 1994, in Butte, MT to Laurel (Immonen) and Kevin Edgar. She has one younger brother, Morgan. She has Finnish, Scottish, and English ancestry.
Her career began when she was three. Her father was working as an extra on the set of a film; the casting director loved her look and personality so much, a featured extra role was created just for her. There weren't many opportunities in film in Montana in her early years; Melanie focused her training on stage acting; continuing to hone her skill while in high school and at the university level. She wrote award-winning monologues, and lead numerous musicals and productions, all while also being an active member of many sports teams and clubs. Because of her willingness to grow her skills, she is very athletic and plays basketball, volleyball, and softball, and also loves doing stunt work. She attended both Montana Tech and The University of Montana. After signing to her first agency in Nov 2019, Melanie landed her first lead film role in Nexus of Evil (2020). Melanie has continued to add to her skills both in front of and behind the camera; functioning as everything from an actress to director, producer, and writer.
