Something very witchy – and very wrong – seems to be going on and it is an extremely effective, unsettling trailer.

John Goodman is recovering after being injured during the production of an upcoming, untitled Alejandro González Iñárritu movie for Warner Bros. and Legendary, starring Tom Cruise.

The actor “experienced a hip injury,” a Warner Bros. spokesperson said in a statement.

“He received immediate medical attention that led to a brief delay in shooting to allow him time to recover,” the statement continues. “The production resumes shooting next week following John’s full recovery.”

What’s Good: Nicole Kidman and Harris Dickinson are amazing performers, and they really sell the ideas of their two characters meeting to be different people, only with each other.

What’s Bad: The film lacks any sort of meaningful catharsis, and even when some of the last lines of dialogue try to paint a transformation, it doesn’t feel satisfying; it feels forced.

Loo Break: The intimate scenes are there to shock some audience members, but they get repetitive at one point, so there’s your break.

Watch or Not?: Watch Babygirl only if you’re a huge Nicole Kidman fan. Other than that, this is a pass.

Edward Berger, hot from his double-whammy Best Film and Outstanding British Film wins for Conclave at the Ee BAFTA Film Awards, wanted to stop by the Searchlight after-party at Soho House’s Greek Street to laud Rising Star winner David Jonsson.

“He’s not a show-off,” an impressed Berger tells me after greeting Jonsson.

“[It] tells you a lot. Feet on the ground, incredibly laid back and I wanted to congratulate him,” Berger adds as he watches the Rye Lane and Alien: Romulus actor being feted by a group that included Olivia Homan, his agent at United Talent, and Ellie Norton his publicist at Track Publicity.

Berger notes that he was taken by a comment Jonsson made during his acceptance speech.

“Star? I don’t know, but rising, I guess,” was the Jonsson line that Berger favored.

To capitalize on couples potentially heading to theaters this weekend for Valentine's Day, the studio will be re-releasing Babygirl across the United States. During its initial run in theaters in late December 2024/January 2025, Babygirl made almost $60 million worldwide, with $28 million of that coming from domestic ticket sales.
