“America’s Got Talent” revealed America’s Wildcard winner on Tuesday’s show, with the return a previously eliminated contestant who beat out several others for a chance at redemption: Storm Large.
The singer was awarded her comeback through the first-ever Peacock competition special “AGT: America’s Wildcard,” which allowed viewers to vote between these five acts, which didn’t make it through Judge Cuts: singers Dylan Zangwill, Storm Large, Matt Mauser, magician Patrick Kun and comedian Mike Goodwin.
“AGT” host Terry Crews had the pleasure of announcing the results of the special event on Tuesday’s edition of the NBC competition, with Storm Large coming out on top.
In the video above, you can see her performance as she returns to the “AGT” stage for a shot at making it through the quarterfinals and onto the semifinals round. She manages to impress the judges — minus Simon Cowell, of course — with...

On August 2, “America’s Got Talent” fans were saddened to learn that Nightbirde, Simon Cowell‘s Golden Buzzer and one of the front-runners to win Season 16, had to withdraw from the competition because of her battle with cancer. “Since my audition, my health has taken a turn for the worse and the fight with cancer is demanding all of my energy and attention,” she wrote at the time. “I am so sad to announce that I won’t be able to continue forward on this season.” Since the “AGT” producers had already planned on Nightbirde taking up one of the Top 36 live show performances, they had a decision to make: leave her spot open or fill it with a wildcard? They chose the latter.

Matt Mauser, the singer who lost his wife in the same helicopter crash as Kobe Bryant, gave an emotional performance of “Against All Odds (Take a Look at Me Now)” by Phil Collins on “America’s Got Talent.”
“You know if I had it my way, I would have my wife and I’d be supporting her, but that’s not what happened,” Mauser told the judges on Tuesday night. “It’s been a rough year, but here I am.”
Mauser is the lead singer of the rock band Tijuana Dogs and has also performed in a Frank Sinatra tribute band. His wife, Christina, was Bryant’s assistant coach on Team Mamba, the young girl’s basketball team that Gianna Bryant played on. The only thing more surprising than the stunning final performance on Tuesday’s episode of America’s Got Talent was what happened next.
Victory Brinker, a precocious young singer, had the judges wrapped around her finger before she even sang a note, thanks to her sassy critique of Simon Cowell’s questionable fashion sense. (“You need some color!”) And then she sang… opera! With a voice far beyond her years, Brinker lulled the judges into a stupor before melting their faces with a powerful finish. The performance was so incredible, it literally summoned a bird.

Former President Barack Obama remembered Kobe Bryant and eight others killed in a helicopter crash during a speech at the NBA All-Star Weekend Newsmaker Brunch in Chicago.
“That loss is something that I know many are still grappling with,” Obama told attendees Saturday, adding, “particularly Kobe because he was with his daughter and those families, and those children.”
In a video posted on social media by CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, Obama noted that as a father he found the deaths of the children on the helicopter particularly “heartbreaking.”
“Those of us who have had the joy and privilege of being parents and taking kids to ballgames, and then rooting for our children, and seeing our dreams and hopes passed on to them. Nothing is more heartbreaking,” he said.
