His friends and family were in attendance. Things were going fine. The adults were snacking and gossiping. The kids were playing in a bouncy castle. The sons of Charro Mejias, Mauricio Campos, and Emiliano passed away, and Fabian’s daughter went missing. On one hand, the parents and the surviving kids were in mourning, and on the other hand, they had to send out a search party. Grief soon turned into anger, and the families wanted a scapegoat. They blamed the person who was responsible for nailing the bouncy castle to the ground: Moncho,...

Pedro Pascal's role in Narcos was both underrated and crucial for the show's success, showcasing his leading man potential early on. Narcos stood out by intertwining real-life events and characters, adding a new level of realism to the story of Pablo Escobar's drug empire. Pascal's departure from Narcos marked a turning point in his career, leading to major roles in successful projects like The Mandalorian and The Last of Us series.

Given how many quality shows are on television nowadays, it’s no surprise that even more A-list actors are making their way to the small screen. TV shows can tell a deeper story with more character development and world-building through several seasons. This also allows an actor to truly shine and deliver a more nuanced performance. In the last few years, fans have been treated to fantastic TV shows that feature A-list actors.
In a time when many TV shows of varying quality are greenlit, it can be assuring to see household names on a series' cast list. Whether it's Pedro Pascal as Joel in The Last of Us, Samuel L. Exclusive: After a herniated disc during a Cats performance prompted Rob Marshall to switch from dancer to director, his first feature, Chicago, won Best Picture. It has been a charmed run for Marshall since, with hits from Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides to Memoirs of a Geisha, Nine, Annie, Into the Woods and Mary Poppins Returns. Rarely has Marshall been as charged up as he is after coming through a four-year ordeal to turn Disney’s 1989 2-D animated classic musical The Little Mermaid into a live action feature. Beyond the logistical complexities of staging a musical set half undersea and the other half on land where the title character sacrifices her voice for a chance at life as a human, the film is the most color blind major studio adaptation of a classic property you’ve ever seen.

Oscar-winning Spanish actor Javier Bardem will be seen playing the role of King Triton in ‘The Little Mermaid’. He said he was drawn to the relationship his character has with his daughter Ariel.
“I was especially drawn to the relationship he has with his daughter,” Bardem said, adding: “because even though he loves her very much, it’s not always in the best ways. He needs to grow up and face what he fears the most, which is his daughter’s freedom, her independence, and that conflict was very interesting to me.”
“The power that Javier has as an actor is massive,” said director Rob Marshall.
He added: “He feels so deeply and expresses emotions with such subtlety and truth. His masterful portrayal of Triton is honestly so moving and dynamic. I loved every second working with him.”
Disney India releases ‘The Little Mermaid’ on May 26 in English only in theatres.

The Little Mermaid is Disney's latest live-action adaptation of an animated classic. The film follows King Triton's youngest daughter, Ariel, who is enamored with the human world even though her father has dubbed it off-limits to mermaids. Breaking the rules, Ariel saves and falls in love with Prince Eric, leading to a heated confrontation with her father. Heartbroken Ariel turns to Ursula, the sea witch, for help and strikes a deal, trading her voice for legs that will allow her to find Eric and explore the surface world. However, this bargain will have dangerous consequences for both worlds above and below the water.
Rob Marshall collaborates with Disney once again, directing The Little Mermaid based on a script penned by David Magee. Alan Menken, who scored and co-wrote the music to the animated movie, returns as composer on The Little Mermaid and wrote new songs for the live-action adaptation with producer Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Warning! Spoilers ahead for Gunslinger Spawn #19Since making his comics debut, Gunslinger Spawn has been one of the most popular characters in the Spawn line. Now, the pistol-packing Hellspawn has gotten an all-new redesign that is here to stay.
Shared via Twitter by the official McFarlane Comics account, the new design made its debut in Gunslinger Spawn #19 by Todd McFarlane, Brett Booth, Adelso Corona, Ivan Nunes and Tom Orzechowski. It’s not a drastic change from what came before; Gunslinger still has his trademark duster and elongated, pilgrim-style hat, but the new design is more streamlined. Instead of the white bat-wing shapes over the eyes that have become synonymous with Spawn, Gunslinger now has something looking more like a bandana mask covering his eyes à la Zorro. His spiked gauntlets, boots and the distinctive “M” on his torso have also been streamlined and simplified, making the character more distinct from Al Simmons’ Spawn.

Farewell to our favorite friends from Boston!
Wednesday’s finale of “A Million Little Things,” titled “One Big Thing,” gives an emotional send-off to the glue that kept the friend group together: Gary (James Roday Rodriguez).
Two episodes prior to the finale, Gary learned that his cancer returned and was terminal. In an effort to be there for his and his now-wife, Maggie’s son, Javier, in case he didn’t make it, he began filming a series of videos. But not before he gives his best friends, Rome (Romany Malco) and Eddie (David Giuntoli), one final mission.

Aneesh Chaganty, Will Merrick, and Nick Johnson have spent the last few years slowly building an anthology of films that deal with missing people and the growing sophistication of technology in our lives. They arrived on the scene with Searching in 2018, told entirely through computer screens. Then came Run in 2020, and now, after a Covid-19 delay, Missing. Chaganty directed the first two with Merrick and Johnson as editors; but now the editors have become screenwriters and make their directorial debut with the new film.
They have intertwined the characters from the three films so you actually get some closure for Run with dialogue in Missing.
The new film swaps the father seeking his daughter from the first film as this time, teenager June (Storm Reid) uses her laptop and computer skills to track the whereabouts of her mother, Grace (Nia Long), who has disappeared in Colombia with her new boyfriend...

It's not always a good idea to meet your heroes. On Fantasy Island Season 2 Episode 12, guest Courtney not only met hers, but she's also chosen to work for her, and after two years, that hero still doesn't know her name.
Not so heroic, in my mind, but hero worship can blind one to hard truths -- as can love.
Isla's influence on Ruby is horrifying, effectively washing her brain clean of her memories of life before the Island. Will Elena's last-ditch effort to pull Ruby back from the brink work?
It's always fascinating to see how The Monkey's Paw the Island can get with the guests' fantasies.
In Courtney's case, she literally asks that Julia learn her name and recognize her for her value.
All that comes true except that once Julia recognizes the value of Courtney's idea, she fires her so she can steal it.
What Courtney really...

Apple TV+ premieres Silo this week, which is a book-to-screen adaptation I can highly recommend. The books were incredible, creating a world unlike anything you've ever experienced, and the series brings it to life with stunning detail.
Fatal Attraction comes to Paramount+, and we finally see the appeal of having more time with a beloved IP, as the fleshed-out story opens a lot of storytelling opportunities.
See what else is coming this week and what finales to keep an eye on below.

8/7c Hearts In the Game (Hallmark)
Erin Cahill and Marco Grazzini star in a new Hallmark movie about making a name for yourself, forgiving past mistakes, and moving forward.
In this one, a publicist helps a pitcher for the New York Mets – and her boyfriend from high school – find his way back to the game and her heart.
Check out a preview for the movie below.

With the variety of dilemmas they cover, it was bound to happen. With Fantasy Island Season 2 Episode 11, the showrunners and writers tap into my Achilles' Heel for trauma, children of divorce who turn into pleasers out of fear of abandonment.
Yeah, I legit cried when Arthur and Melanie owned their suckiness because only on Fantasy Island do we get to see parents turn their crappy parenting around. But I could be jaded about this sort of thing.
Meanwhile, Ruby's response to learning about Elena's interference with Isla is such an authentic reaction I could kiss the writer that wrote those scenes. Talk about respecting the character.
While some might argue that Elena's actions echo that of an overprotective parent, a stronger parallel can be drawn between our Ms. Roarke and the Island's newest guest, the jilted and bereft Laura Turner.
It's not without irony that Jessy Schram, a pillar of the Hallmark Movie Channel,...

There are times when the Island has a mind of its own, and the guests are just there for the ride.
On Fantasy Island Season 2 Episode 10, two couples arrive with very straightforward relaxation fantasies in mind -- the Roses would like to forget about the major stressor in their life, while the Hutchinsons would like an idyllic retirement scenario.
Instead, the Island disrupts all their calm by forcing them to hash out their complicated feud and air their personal pain. Whose idea of a vacation is that?
Ultimately, the Island knows best, and the Roses and the Hutchinsons are able to find a better way forward because they see things more clearly.
The moral of the story being that the therapy you need isn't always the fantasy that you want.
The subtle parallels between the couples are quite elegant.
With broad strokes, the writers have drawn two loving husband and wife pairings,...

There's a quirky balance on Fantasy Island Season 2 Episode 9 between the complicated Island relationships and the guest's relatively simple odyssey of self-discovery.
For Elena, Javier, and Ruby, there is heartbreak bound up with secrets, anger, and misunderstandings. There is no winning for our trio of denizens, but it does reveal another layer of what Elena's duties entail.
Meanwhile, Gwen's crisis of confidence Irl finds its resolution in a cosplay fantasy with the historical accuracy of Ye Olde Renaissance Faire.
Most Island guests are pretty relatable. Even the sillier requests -- like Eli's wish to be a chick magnet -- come from places of vulnerability and insecurity.
For some unexplainable reason, I'm not really able to connect with Gwen's desire to have someone else make all the decisions about her life.
Even after learning about her experience in her first year of med school, I don't get her. She's easily the...

Is there a chance that Delilah and Eddie could become a couple after her visit on A Million Little Things Season 5 Episode 9?
Our TV Fanatics Jack Ori, Jasmine Blu, and Christine Orlando debate Eddie's romantic prospects, Walter's assisted living dilemma, Gary's dreams, and more!
And do Sophie and Tyrell have a future? Read on to find out what our round table thinks.
Do you agree with Eddie's claim that things didn't work out between him and Delilah because the timing wasn't right?
Jack: Not at all. It didn't work out because Delilah was only using Eddie to distract her from her problems with Jon, and she then made other selfish decisions, like moving to France with Charley.
Jasmine: Yeah, no. I mean, the timing wasn't right because they were both married. I think that was a cop-out answer. I really never understood their compatibility, and it never worked because Delilah is consistently awful.

Fox's Fantasy Island is a magical, idyllic tropical paradise where guests are welcomed to their holiday adventure by their elegant hostesses and the dashingly charming head of transportation, Javier.
As Javier, John Gabriel Rodriquez's brilliant smile and confident approach to piloting, whether by sea or air, is a warm and comforting entry point to what invariably proves to be a life-changing experience.
Speaking with TV Fanatic via Zoom from his home in Los Angeles, Rodriquez is just as affable and eloquently thoughtful as his on-screen character.
The current series is a revival of the original Ricardo Montalbán-anchored series that premiered in 1978 and went on to seven seasons of guest star-studded, fantastical must-see TV.
Before booking the role of Javier, Rodriquez understood the cultural phenomenon his series was built on.

Team Charlie recently talked to Screen Rant about why they turned away Javier Colón from joining their team during Outlast season 1. Javier was slated as the number one contestant on Outlast. However, when he turned to Team Charlie for help, he was denied access to their camp. The only rule of the new survivalist game is that to win, a contestant needed to be a part of a team. These 16 lone wolves were forced to figure out how to work as a group, with some choosing to play a little dirty.

Paul Preece admitted that while he felt for Javier and his situation, he wasn't the reason Team Charlie didn't accept him with open arms. The father went on to remind viewers that Outlast...

And we're back to form with an hour more cemented and cohesive than A Million Little Things Season 5 episode 7.

The director of the apocalyptic drama, Before the Fall, and 2017’s Rings, the sequel to the popular 2002 horror film, The Ring, is back with a first look at his new horror film. The Wait comes from F. Javier Gutiérrez and is being described as “a sinister folk horror tragedy that takes place in the dark, magic and forgotten Andalusian countryside — a place marked by ancestral traditions.” This new outing comes from his production company, Unfiled Films, and they have provided a sneak peek into the upcoming haunting film.
The official synopsis reads:
“Eladio (Victor Clavijo), hunting estate keeper, takes a bribe from a veteran hunter. Weeks later, his whole life falls apart. What looked like the opportunity of a lifetime, turns into a macabre descent to hell when he finds out that his misfortune might not be entirely by chance.”

Though he's had some mixed fortunes with adapting his work into Netflix series (Jupiter's Legacy had an ignominious one-season but others are in the works), Mark Millar's Millarworld is still part of the streaming giant's world. His next adaptation will be a fresh take on American Jesus called The Chosen One.
Co-created by Millar and artist Peter Gross, the comics first hit stands in 2004, but it has been a labour of love and years for the pair to finish the series – and at one point, was going to become a movie directed by Kick-Ass' Matthew Vaughn.
For the Netflix version, the story is being switched to Mexico. Jodie, a twelve-year-old boy, suddenly discovers he has Jesus-like powers: he can turn water into wine, make the crippled walk, and, perhaps, even raise the dead! As the Evangelical and the Yaquí leaders in town try to get him to use his powers to save mankind,...

When Outlast premiered on Netflix, viewers gravitated towards the reality series, but wondered why Brian Kahrs withdrew from the competition. While this outdoor game wasn't for the faint of heart, the show's producers did choose cast members who consider spending time in nature their hobby. As the contestants dwindled down to only a few, there were many good reasons why some participants, including Brian, decided to leave the Alaskan wilderness.
Brian, who was 59, was the oldest Outlast contestant. The Netflix show dropped 16 players into the woods, pitting them against one another. The survival series had a Hunger Games vibe, as the only rule was that, in order to win, a contestant had to be a part of a team. The Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, and Delta groups had weaknesses, but ultimately, some teams played harder than others. Brian shared that he had grown up during the Cold War, when he was...

The survivalist show revealed just how far some contestants would go to win one million dollars. While Javier played a stand-up game, he sadly didn't make it that far.
Netflix took some DNA from History Channel's Alone, bringing viewers a new type of competition show. Outlast dropped 16 contestants from around the United States into the Alaskan wilderness. While some had a little experience with the outdoors, none were actually adventurers. The lone wolves seemed to be preparing for the apocalypse, and they were in for a grueling experience. The goal was simple, to win as part of a team, and play however they saw fit. The landscape soon seemed more like the Wild West, as gloves were taken off, and lines were drawn.

With Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and Chloë Grace Moretz at the helm, it’s easy to forget other stars that appear in Kick-Ass 2. A handful of actors appear in Kick-Ass 2 in supporting roles to Justice Forever and the Toxic Mega Cunts but have long been forgotten. Likewise, since Jim Carrey reprises his role of Colonel Stars and Stripes for Kick-Ass 2, it’s easy to overlook other actors.
As a superhero movie rated R for extreme violence, it’s tough to imagine that Kick-Ass 2 is even more horrible in the comics. Chris D’Amico forms a super villain team to take revenge on Kick-Ass, and some familiar faces appear in the process. Whether already established in the industry or relative newcomers, these actors went on to bigger and better roles after appearing in Kick-Ass 2.

Rodolfo “Fito” Olivares, the cumbia legend behind quinceañera dancefloor hits including “Juana La Cubana” and “El Colesterol” with his band Grupo La Pura Sabrosura, died Friday at age 75 after battling cancer, his wife Griselda confirmed to the Associated Press.
The musician died at his home in Houston after being diagnosed with cancer last year. It’s unclear what type of cancer he was battling. He’s survived by his children Rodolfo, Alexandra, and Juan Pablo. “They played [his] music all over the world,” his wife Griselda told the AP.

The A Million Little Things family keeps expanding and growing, and now we have another baby to add to the mix.
The highly-anticipated birth of Gary and Magge's child took place on A Million Little Things Season 5 Episode 6, which didn't disappoint.
And the hour also saw a Tyrell return, a Delilah cameo, and a Katherine and Greta engagement.
The ball is moving along with the series as it attempts to wrap up everyone's storylines in some capacity or another and set them on their next path in life.
The birth of Javier Chad Mendez is a milestone for the series and this fan-favorite couple, and while it had a few moments of intensity and a lot of drama leading up to it, we were confident that the result would be a happy one.
It felt like Maggie's pregnancy went into hyper speed. Conveniently. as she settled on her last-minute birthing...
