The death threats were the first clue. On March 7, Laura Jane Grace played her new song, “Your God (God’s Dick),” at a Bernie Sanders “Fighting Oligarchy: Where We Go From Here” event in Wisconsin. A bawdy, and, yes, profane, sing-along, the track was meant to be a protest against the religious right’s censoring and discriminating against trans people. But to right-wing influencers and politicians, it was just blasphemy.
“I’m not being profane to be profane,” Grace says. “I’m not just saying ‘dick’ to say ‘dick.’ I’m asking a genuine question.

Ofcom has taken a tough line on the BBC’s Gaza: How to Survive a Warzone Snafu and said it could intervene if necessary.
Ofcom has written and published a letter to BBC Chair Samir Shah this morning. For what many deem to be a light touch regulator, it did not hold back, communicating “ongoing concerns about the nature and gravity of these failings and the negative impact they have on the trust audiences place in the BBC’s journalism.”
The BBC is investigating the saga, which erupted around 10 days ago after it emerged that the Gaza: How to Survive a Warzone documentary was narrated by the son of a Hamas minister. Ofcom today said it could still step in if it is not satisfied with how the BBC is going about things.

The fallout continues over the BBC’s airing of a documentary narrated by the son of a Hamas official.
Earlier this week, the corporation apologized and removed Gaza: How to Survive a Warzone, about the lives of three children caught in the Israel-Gaza war, from its streaming service BBC iPlayer. It was discovered that one of the 13-year-old subjects, Abdullah Al-Yazouri, is the son of Hamas’ deputy minister of agriculture.
A statement from the corp, which can be read in full here, said it takes “full responsibility” for “unacceptable flaws” in commissioning the program, stating that production company behind the doc Hoyo Films acknowledged that the BBC were not informed of Abdullah Al-Yazouri’s Hamas ties. The Sunday Times reported that the child was paid around £700 for his part in the film, given to him via his sister’s back account.

Russell Brand is being sued over sexual abuse allegations in a lawsuit filed in London’s High Court, the first-known lawsuit brought against him in the UK.
The Sun newspaper reports that an anonymous claimant on February 6 lodged a personal injury sexual abuse case for damages.
It comes after London’s Metropolitan Police passed evidence to the Crown Prosecution Service.
It is the first-known lawsuit to land in the UK since the comedian turned online broadcaster faced allegations of rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse, dating between 2006 and 2013, by four separate women in a joint Sunday Times/Channel 4 Dispatches investigation.
When the results of the investigation were published, Brand denied all claims against him, saying that he had never participated in non-consensual sexual behaviour, and the allegations were part of an establishment smear campaign against him.

The BBC has revealed that the producers behind the controversial Gaza: How to Survive a Warzone doc were aware of the narrator’s links to Hamas.
In an unprecedented in-depth statement following a BBC Board meeting, a BBC spokesperson said producer Hoyo Films, which is run by the doc’s director Jamie Roberts, have “acknowledged since transmission that they knew that the boy’s father was a Deputy Agriculture Minister in the Hamas Government.”
The BBC said it identified serious flaws in the doc, with some of the flaws made by the production company and some the responsibility of the BBC.
“BBC News takes full responsibility for these and the impact that these have had on the Corporation’s reputation,” said the spokesperson. “We apologise for this.”
The show will remain off iPlayer and will not be repeated until an in-depth review is completed by Peter Johnston, who conducted the recent probe into Russell Brand.

The BBC has apologized for missing chances to take action against Tim Westwood after an external review concluded that the former presenter’s conduct was “entirely incompatible with BBC values.”
The UK broadcaster’s board today released an independent report, overseen by Gemma White Kc, into how the BBC managed complaints about Westwood during the time he worked as a Radio 1 and 1Xtra DJ between 1994 and 2013. Westwood strongly denies all allegations against him.
While it noted there was no “widespread or significant BBC knowledge of the allegations or concerns,” it admitted that alleged incidents were “treated in isolation rather than being brought together” and therefore missed a “pattern of behavior that it could have acted on.”
“Beyond assessing any alleged criminality, which is a matter for the police, it is clear there were times where the BBC, on learning about concerns regarding Mr Westwood’s behaviour, did not take adequate action,...

Russell Brand’s charity for addiction and mental health support has been removed from the official register of charities following revelations about its closure amid ongoing sexual assault allegations. The Charity Commission confirmed that the Stay Free Foundation, established by the comedian after his recovery from heroin addiction in 2003, ceased operations and was officially deregistered in January.
Reports indicate that concerns regarding Brand’s behavior resurfaced after an investigation by Channel 4 Dispatches and The Sunday Times, which highlighted allegations from four women dating between 2006 and 2013. Brand has consistently denied the accusations, asserting that his relationships were consensual and characterizing the claims as part of a campaign to tarnish his reputation.
Additional inquiries into Brand’s past have uncovered instances during his tenure at the BBC. A complaint dating back to 2007 was reportedly re-raised in 2016, prompting internal reviews that led to further criticism of the broadcaster’s handling of such matters.

Russell Brand has shut down his addiction and mental health charity, UK media revealed yesterday.
The Sun newspaper reports that the national Charity Commission was told back in September 2024 that the comedian turned online guru’s Stay Free Foundation “no longer operates,” and was removed from the official register of charities last month.
Brand founded the charity following his own recovery from heroin addiction in 2003. He was a frequent advocate for health services to provide more support for addicts, and in 2013 made a documentary about the subject for the BBC.
The move follows a 2023 investigation jointly between Channel 4’s Dispatches programme and The Sunday Times newspaper, in which four women accused him of sexual assault between 2006 and 2013. Brand denies all allegations against him, saying he is the victim of an establishment smear campaign. He recently moved to the US from his home in the UK.

Russell Brand has relocated to the United States, claiming that British authorities, the media and the judicial system are trying to “attack and shut [him] down.”
The comedian, who is under investigation by British police over allegations of rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse, has allegedly moved from his $4.1 million home in Oxfordshire to a $2.3 million bungalow in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida.
Brand, 49, addressed his departure on the conservative video platform Rumble, stating, “I don’t live in the United Kingdom anymore because I personally have experienced how the media, government and judiciary — if you suddenly become an inconvenience — will find ways to attack and shut you down.”
His move coincides with the BBC’s misconduct review, which found that staff were too afraid to report Brand’s behavior. The report, which cost $827,000, documented allegations of sexual misconduct, urinating in studio cups, throwing objects and engaging in sexual activity at BBC premises.

Russell Brand no longer lives in the United Kingdom, the actor and comedian revealed this week, citing attacks from the British media and government following several sexual assault allegations.
“I don’t live in the United Kingdom any more because I personally have experienced how the media, government and judiciary — if you suddenly become an inconvenience — will find ways to attack and shut you down,” Brand said on the social media account Rumble, reported by the Sunday Times of London.
The Times report this weekend alleged that Brand moved his family to Florida just before the U.S. presidential election last year; around the same time, the Metropolitan Police confirmed in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter that their file, which included allegations of sexual assault against the former comedian, had been passed on to prosecutors. It is unclear how the move may affect this legal process.

Exclusive: Russell Brand co-hosted one of the BBC’s flagship live television events just months after an employee re-filed a decade-old complaint about his conduct.
In March 2017, Brand was handed a presenting role on BBC Studios-produced telethon Comic Relief, during which he introduced new comedy acts in a bid to raise money for charity.
The Comic Relief booking came after a BBC employee decided in 2016 to re-raise a complaint they originally made in 2007 about Brand urinating in a cup in front of colleagues during the making of his Radio 2 show.
As part of the complaint, the employee also raised broader concerns about Brand’s conduct, including rumors that he would bring “groups of girls” to BBC premises. Brand has always denied wrongdoing.

It’s not every day you hear about a mogul, someone who’s shaped entire industries, suddenly entangled in a scandal that could put him behind bars for decades. It’s like watching a great showrunner fall from grace, but this isn’t some script—this is the real deal.
Diddy, a name synonymous with hip-hop royalty, luxury, and the Bad Boy Records empire, now finds himself in a web of charges so severe they could land him in prison for the rest of his life. As much as we love a good redemption arc, this one seems a bit too heavy to write off as a mere blip on the radar.

Following an internal investigation, the BBC has apologized to staff members who felt like they had no power to raise their concerns about actor and comedian Russell Brand‘s behavior during his time with the broadcasting corporation. Brand hosted two weekly radio shows on the BBC from 2006 to 2008 and also worked with the company on other projects over the years.
Peter Johnston, the BBC’s director of editorial complaints, conducted the investigation into Brand’s behavior and the workplace environment that was created by his presence. Johnston’s investigation unearthed eight complaints regarding Brand, only one of which was officially submitted at the time to the BBC’s management. These complaints included allegations of Brand exposing himself in his BBC studio and having sex on the corporation’s premises.

The BBC has concluded its review into Russell Brand’s tenure at the network, where he hosted radio programs from 2006 through 2008. An initial report included five complaints, one of which claimed that Brand exposed himself to a woman in an office bathroom, then joked about doing so on-air moments later.
A continued review revealed three additional complaints about the comedian’s “promiscuous or out-of-control” behavior. BBC Director of Editorial Complaints and Reviews Peter Johnston found that, overall, internal intimidation led to employees being reluctant to report Brand’s behavior to...

The BBC has apologized to members of staff affected by the behavior of Russell Brand, whose status as one of the corporation’s top presenters made employees believe “he would always get his way, and therefore they stayed silent.”
The BBC on Thursday published the findings of a review carried out into Brand’s conduct during his time at the channel, in particular for 6 Music and Radio 2, between 2006 and 2008. It follows extensive allegations against Brand — including of sexual harassment and rape — that came to light in 2023.
The review was carried out by Peter Johnston, the BBC’s director of editorial complaints and reviews, at the request of director-general Tim Davie. Johnston investigated eight complaints, two of which were made while Brand worked for the BBC.

The BBC has apologized to individuals who felt unable to raise concerns about Russell Brand’s behavior, as an internal review reveals staff at the UK broadcaster’s LA bureau “joked about” an incident in which the star is alleged to have exposed himself to a woman in a bathroom.

P Diddy has been embroiled in a lot of controversies, but perhaps the worst of them stem from his alleged freak off parties. While he is still serving time behind bars in the wake of all the accusations against him, new reports keep popping up against him, taking even more people down with him, all thanks to those White Parties. But Russell Brand ain’t one of them.

As it turns out, while Brand did attend one of Sean Combs’ infamous parties, he isn’t one of those people who could be brought down with the now-disgraced music mogul’s name because he left before the alleged drama could begin. And the comedian, for one, actually considers himself pretty lucky to have escaped those alleged freak offs as well.

Wait, What? Scarlett Johansson and Florence Pugh shot Black Widow while battling pneumonia. The iconic Black Widow movie didn’t just come with a hefty Marvel action budget and epic fight scenes — it came with a dash of illness, too. While fans were losing their minds over the movie’s delayed release, behind the scenes, Johansson and Pugh were pushing through not just superhero stunts but actual pneumonia. Talk about dedication.
According to The Gentlewoman, the film’s shoot, which stretched over four months across Norway, Morocco, the U.K., and the U.S., was one massive endurance test. And by the end of it, both leads were sick as dogs but still powering through. The movie’s director, Cate Shortland compared it to “being in the army.” Not exactly a vacation, huh?

Here’s How Sydney Sweeney Feels About Not Going For Breast Reduction Surgery (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Sydney Sweeney hit us with some unexpected teenage tea. Back in high school, the Euphoria star wasn’t feeling her curves—specifically, her chest. She even had a whole plan to shrink them as soon as she turned 18. Yeah, she was that serious about it.
But then came the ultimate mum intervention. According to Lad Bible, the actress’ mom straight-up told her, “Don’t do it. You’ll regret it in college.” And guess what? She nailed it. Looking back, Sydney couldn’t agree more. “I’m so glad I didn’t,” she said during an interview with Glamour in 2023. “I like them. They’re my best friends.”
But it wasn’t always smooth sailing. Teenage Sydney Sweeney wasn’t vibing with her body. “I went through that process of covering my body up at such a young age,...

Was it a sign of trouble or just another Instagram clean-up? Spoiler: It was nothing serious, just Zendaya tidying up her follower list. But still, the rumors started flying.
Tom and Zendaya, who first met in 2016 on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming, have kept their relationship on the down low. They dodged the dating rumors for years before finally confirming they were an item in 2021. They’ve always been super private, only sharing occasional posts that give fans a peek behind the curtain. Recently, though, Tom opened up about what it’s like working with Zendaya, and honestly, it’s as cute as you’d expect.

Katy Perry Once Gave Ex-Russell Brand A $156K Space Ticket For His Birthday (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Once upon a celebrity moment, Katy Perry gave the term “shooting for the stars” a whole new meaning! For then-husband Russell Brand’s birthday, she dropped a cool £125K ($156K) on a ticket to space. Forget flashy watches or luxury cars; this was a one-way trip to the cosmos via Virgin Galactic.
In 2011, Katy and Russell were Hollywood’s quirkiest lovebirds; this gift was the cherry on their cosmic cake. Brand had joked about heading to the stars, so Perry made the dream a reality. Sadly, the relationship didn’t last light-years, but this galactic gesture remains a moment of next-level love and whimsy. Katy, always one to think big, didn’t just aim for the moon; she aimed past it.
Fast forward to 2025, and Perry is still making headlines, but this time for her jaw-dropping fashion choices.

The Southern Bridge that connects the nether end of tony Palm Beach Island to the mainland city of West Palm Beach was once a calm overpass where people strolled alongside Bentleys over the Intracoastal Waterway. But since Donald Trump’s victory in November’s presidential election, news crews have amassed on the West Palm side, while tourists are huddled on a small island adjacent to the bridge, iPhone cameras fully zoomed in and aimed at Mar-a-Lago, which sits just yards away.

Johnny Depp’s Jack Sparrow Walk almost lost him the role ( Photo Credit – Facebook )
Johnny Depp’s quirky, unbalanced Jack Sparrow walk wasn’t just a fun visual gimmick—it almost tanked his shot at becoming Pirates of the Caribbean’s iconic captain.
Disney execs initially thought Depp’s eccentric portrayal was way too much. They were reportedly “scared to death” that audiences wouldn’t even understand what Sparrow was about. They even called Depp, asking if he was drunk. Depp, being Depp, turned Disney’s doubts into fuel. When studio reps tried to tone things down, he doubled down: “I turned it up.”
The original script for The Curse of the Black Pearl had Sparrow as a conventional action-packed pirate. But Depp had other plans. He cooked up his iconic portrayal while sitting in a sauna, imagining Sparrow’s brain would be “par-boiled” after days baking in the sun aboard a ship.

Hollywood’s ultimate daredevil and heartthrob, Tom Cruise is someone whose name screams stunts, actions, and box office gold. Whether he’s hanging off in planes in Mission: Impossible or hitting Mach 10 in Top Gun: Maverick, Cruise is the guy who can deliver big-screen adrenaline. Warning: Mild spoilers for all 3 Hercule Poirot movies
Kenneth Branagh has directed and starred in three Hercule Poirot movies, but they’re not all equal to one another. A Haunting in Venice is the most recent murder mystery starring everyone’s favorite Belgian detective. Like the first two movies, A Murder on the Orient Express and Death on the Nile, A Haunting in Venice was adapted from an Agatha Christie story. Each film in the franchise includes an all-star ensemble cast, a murder mystery waiting to be solved, and Poirot at the center of it all, but which film reigns supreme?
Each of Branagh’s Hercule Poirot movies has something to like. Whether that’s the cast, the unfolding mystery, the untold secrets lurking behind the lies the characters tell, or Poirot’s memorable mustache (which gets its own backstory), the franchise isn’t short on entertainment. 2017’s Murder on the Orient Express...

Even before Donald Trump won the election, The View brought a lot of heated discussion from Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin. Unfortunately, the ABC show has been a mouthpiece for only one side of the political spectrum. Now, it’s been reported that a big shake-up might happen.
The View Needs To Change With The Times?
Whoopi Goldberg got so outspoken about Donald Trump’s running mate, J.D Vance, that she ended up apologizing to him. Of course, she’s been against Trump and the Republicans since about forever. But, her views might not be all that welcome by ABC execs in the future.
That might mean a huge change of direction for Whoopi Goldberg and her fellow co-hosts on The View. But perhaps that might be a lot better than not having a well-paying job. Strong rumors suggest that change is looming,...

When Bob Iger returned to the Disney CEO throne at the end of 2022, his first order of business was to dismantle a structure that saw the studio’s distribution and creative divisions operating separately. Instead, he put distribution and marketing under the control of Disney Entertainment co-chairman Alan Bergman. One year later, Iger made clear that Disney would stay far away from the culture wars that had taken a toll on the company’s stock price amid a revolt from conservative consumers. “Creators lost sight of what their No. 1 objective needed to be,” he said at the DealBook Summit. “We have to entertain first. It’s not about messages.”

Chelsea Handler has spent 25 years in the entertainment industry, meaning she's crossed paths with countless celebrities. But one actor in particular so annoyed Handler that she banned him from her talk show.
A major aspect of Handler's appeal during her run on Chelsea Lately and Netflix's Chelsea was her ability to talk to anyone. The comedian had no problem discussing any topic and could put her guests at ease.
However, actor and comedian Russell Brand pushed Handler to her limits and seemingly broke the late-night host's goodwill. Brand visited Handler three times during the seven seasons Chelsea Lately aired on E!. But Handler made sure there was never going to be a fourth time.
Handler described Brand as a "pain in the a**" in an interview with Grazia magazine (via Her). "I would never want him back," Handler said. "He stopped all of our production schedules because he needed...

Sunset Blvd. again hit its highest grossing week yet at the St. James Theatre, bringing in $1.9 million, up $50,000 from the prior week, and playing to 95 percent capacity.
This marks the fourth consecutive week the musical has built upon its grosses, since opening Oct. 20. And, as was the case last week, the backlash against Nicole Scherzinger for commenting on what appeared to be a pro-Trump social media post by comedian Russell Brand seems to be minimal.
The grosses tally makes Sunset Blvd. the second highest grossing production in the industry last week, behind only Wicked, which brought in $2.4 million. The Lion King, which is typically in the second highest spot, saw its grosses tumble about $160,000 to reach just under $1.8 million.
Other new musicals are being closely watched to see if they can increase their grosses tally and stay running on Broadway longer term. Among those, new musical Maybe Happy Ending, starring...

Broadway’s hit musical revival Sunset Blvd. stayed strong last week amidst the controversy surrounding star Nicole Scherzinger’s social media post interpreted (or rather misinterpreted) by many as an endorsement of Donald Trump.
The latest Broadway grosses (for the week ending November 10) indicate that Sunset Blvd. was up $134,498 over the previous week. With attendance at the St. James Theatre at 97% of capacity (compared to 95% the previous week), the show’s total gross was a very strong $1,857,562.
In fact, the weekly gross for Sunset Blvd. was the Broadway roster’s third-highest for the week, behind only the usual favorites The Lion King ($1.9M) and perennial top grosser Wicked ($2.5M).
Scherzinger, in case you somehow missed it, set off a backlash last week after posting a response to Maga comedian and accused sexual assaulter Russell Brand, with Scherzinger asking where she, too, could get a red ball cap inscribed with “Make Jesus First Again.

Despite the controversy over Nicole Scherzinger’s social media post, Sunset Blvd. just had its highest grossing week yet.
The musical revival, starring Scherzinger as Norma Desmond, brought in $1.86 million last week, the third highest total in the industry for the week, and played to close to 97 percent capacity at the St. James Theatre.
The grosses came in a week in which Scherzinger came under fire for commenting on a social media post by comedian Russell Brand, in which Brand posted a picture of himself holding a hat that said “Make Jesus First Again,” with the appearance of a Trump Maga hat. In screengrabs that circulated online, Scherzinger appeared to have replied to the picture with the comment, “Where do I get this hat!!!?” Scherzinger’s comment is no longer on the post.
The Pussycat Dolls singer apologized Thursday, saying she did not realize her comments could be “easily interpreted...

The View hosts on Monday defended Broadway star Nicole Scherzinger after the singer-actress faced backlash for her comment on an Instagram post from Russell Brand.
Scherzinger’s Instagram account commented on a recent post from Brand, the controversial comedian and podcaster who faces numerous allegations of sexual assault, just days after last Tuesday’s presidential election. Brand’s post featured a photo of the comedian, who recently converted to Christianity, holding a red hat that said “Make Jesus First Again” with the hat resembling Donald Trump’s “Make America Great Again” caps.
In response to the photo, Scherzinger appeared to have replied in a since-deleted comment, “Where do I get this hat!!!?” The Sunset Boulevard star apologized for the comment on social media Friday, when she wrote in a lengthy statement that “many presumptions are being drawn, which do not reflect who I am, what I stand for, or who I voted for.

Ana added, “She shouldn’t have apologized…[but] don’t go on social media if you can’t take the heat because people are crazy.”
