Wheel of Fortunehas experienced plenty of shakeups in the past few years. Longtime host Pat Sajak departed the popular game show on June 7, 2024, after 41 seasons, with Ryan Seacrest stepping in to fill his shoes as host for Season 42. But Sajak isn't out of the hosting game yet: he's set to co-host one final season of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune with fellow Wheel of Fortune alum Vanna White. The guest list would include familiar faces like Josh Gad, Rainn Wilson, and Randall Park, while Wheel of Fortune fans would get to watch the fan-favorite host one last time. But Celebrity Wheel of Fortune's original air date of October 2024 was paused, due to a constantly shifting TV schedule. What could shake up Sajak's final run as a game host? One word: Football.

James Cameron’s Avatar 3 will make its way to the cinemas this December, and with its star-studded cast, many fans might still be wondering why comedian Ben Stiller is not yet a part of the project, especially after he transformed himself into a Na’vi at the 2010 Oscars event.

His amazing makeup at the said event definitely warrants him a place in the movie, but of course, it was only a way to pay homage to Cameron’s highly successful franchise as well as add some fun during that night’s awarding ceremony.
Ben Stiller’s hilarious and unforgettable Avatar spoof at the Oscars
Ben Stiller surprised the crowd at the 82nd Academy Awards in 2010 when he came out from the backstage wearing a black suit while sporting a Na’vi makeup. His iconic stare, which lasted for a couple of seconds, immediately sent the audience laughing out loud.

Josh Gad, the Broadway actor, narrowly missed the opportunity to star in James Cameron’s sci-fi masterpiece. In his recently released memoir, Gad recalled the moment he almost landed a major role in Avatar as Jake Sully’s best friend.
Known for voicing the iconic animated character Olaf of Disney’s Frozen, he was ready to seize the chance, but luck wasn’t in his favor. He said he apparently looked like a “tall overweight Smurf.”

March Box Office: Biggest Opening Weekends In North America ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
February and March seem to be quieter than last year when Dune 2, Kung Fu Panda 4, and Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire were released in the cinemas. This year, in March, Snow White is the only big movie to arrive in theatres, but it might not hold a candle to the films that have registered the biggest opening weekends, and the #1 spot is held by another Disney live-action film, Beauty and the Beast. It is yet to be bested by any film, not even an MCU flick; Captain Marvel could surpass Emma Watson’s movie. Scroll below for the deets.
The live-action/animated remake of the Disney film was released in 2017. It featured an ensemble cast comprising Emma, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Audra McDonald, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ian McKellen and Emma Thompson.

The episode count and runtimes for Marvel Television's Wonder Man have been revealed. Unfortunately, the Marvel Cinematic Universe series is set to continue a Disney+ runtime trend that has not won over the majority of the streamer's subscriber base.
In an interview with Collider, Brad Winderbaum, Marvel's Head of Streaming, Television, and Animation, revealed that Wonder Man will consist of eight episodes, which is two less than the 10-episode count that was originally reported for the Disney+ series. Winderbaum also shared that there will not be a consistent length for the episodes, explaining that streaming allows for a little bit of leeway with the runtimes. "There's a little bit of some streaming leeway in the episode runtimes, so I think our shortest episode is 20-something, and our longest is, like, 40-something," the Marvel head revealed. Chris Farley’s comedic legacy often centers on physical slapstick and larger-than-life characters, and few movies illustrate this better than the mostly forgotten Beverly Hills Ninja. Released in 1997, the film plays out like many of Farley’s films, and ended up becoming known as the actor’s final movie to be released prior to his death in December that year. Almost 30 years later, fans have made the film another unexpected success on Tubi, the home of free streaming and long-lost movies.

Hacksaw Ridge is a 2016 biographical war movie about Desmond T. Doss - a veteran of WW2 and a conscientious objector who serves as the combat medic for the 77th Infantry Division. Ridiculed for his faith and consigned as the company coward, Doss goes above and beyond when his division becomes trapped on Hacksaw Ridge with only him left to keep the injured men alive.
The movie, directed by Mel Gibson and written by Robert Schenkkan and Andrew Knight, was nominated for six Academy Awards, of which it won two. Hacksaw Ridge is a brilliant and brutal look into the nature of war and worthy of a stream, and given it's coming to a streaming platform soon, Peacock subscribers can take to viewing it as Doss took to saving lives, "Give me one more!" Hacksaw Ridge will start streaming on Peacock on March 31.

This year’s Oscar Best Picture race doesn’t include any straight-up comedies, although Anora could be considered a dramedy and The Substance has a number of grotesquely humorous moments. But one of the films singled out by the Academy, despite being a dramatic thriller, was recently re-staged for a live reading by some of the biggest names in comedy.
Nominated for eight Oscars, Conclave tells the story of a Cardinal, played by Ralph Fiennes, who puts together the titular conclave in order to select a new Pope after the current Pope dies. Then there’s a bunch of intrigue and mystery. It’s a good movie, but it’s not funny. Right?
Film Independent recently organized a live reading of the Conclave screenplay in L.A., presented by the original filmmaker, Edward Berger, with narration provided by screenwriter Peter Straughan. And the cast included Ayo Edebiri, Patton Oswalt, Josh Gad and Jason Mantzoukas.

There's been talk of a potential Spaceballs sequel for many years, and we recently got confirmation that a follow-up to Mel Brooks' '80s Star Wars spoof is officially in the works.
The movie is in development at Amazon MGM Studios, with Josh Gad set to star and produce alongside Brooks. Josh Greenbaum will direct the film from a screenplay by Benji Samit, Dan Hernandez, and Gad.
Gad aside, no cast members have been announced, but we're now hearing that the studio has reached out to a major up-and-coming star for an undisclosed role in the movie.
In THR's profile of Wicked star Ariana Grande, the trade mentions that the recent Academy Award-nominee has been offered a number of roles which she has yet to commit to, including a part in Spaceballs 2.
"A disaster wedding comedy, a female detective romp set in a Housewives-style reality show, and a Spaceballs sequel.

Ariana Grande has been the talk of Hollywood lately thanks to her standout performance as Glinda the Good in last year's Wicked. This awards season, she's up for multiple trophies, including Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards, where she'll compete against the likes of Zoe Saldaña and Isabella Rossellini, to name a couple. Her stock has risen so much that now the former Nickelodeon star is apparently being offered a slew of roles, including one in the upcoming Spaceballs 2.
According to a new in-depth profile on Grande published by The Hollywood Reporter, the actress and singer is so hot right now following the success of Wicked that she's been approached about numerous follow-up roles. These include, the profile says, "a disaster wedding comedy, a female detective romp set in a Housewives-style reality show, and a Spaceballs sequel." However, Grande, now 31, isn't too eager to just accept anything that comes her way.

James Cameron's Avatar franchise only has two entries so far, but it's still one of the most successful film franchises in the past two decades. Now, fans are looking forward to Avatar: Fire and Ash, the third film, which will release in late 2025. While some might be worried that it's "more of the same," Cameron is already promising changes that will shift the franchise for the better.
Something that Cameron is already promising is that Avatar 3 will have more nuance with its plot and characters. This addresses a major complaint about the first two movies, but these narrative elements might have helped those films, too. In fact, it all feels like a reaction to another franchise somewhat stealing Avatar's thematic thunder.

From making Cinderella Castle look like a giant birthday cake to covering the park in toilet paper, Disney has pulled some strange promotional stunts in its day. While those two examples are laughable, some choices make us say "Are you sure about that, Disney?"
Disney+ is one of the biggest streaming services on the market, especially after the Hulu merger. As the service's collection of content continues to grow, Disney is pushing for more subscribers with its approach, but one recent ad isn't as magical as the company might think.
What did they just say?
Disney+ just dropped its "What If" Big Game trailer leading up to the Super Bowl. The footage above shows just a small sampling of what subscribers can expect from the realms of Walt Disney Animation, Star Wars, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and more, all narrated with the surreal silky tones of what we assume to be Josh Gad.

Josh Gad recently shared some exciting news about Frozen 3 on The Spotlight with Jessica Shaw podcast, though he couldn’t spill too much. The movie is expected to hit theaters in Thanksgiving 2027, but there’s a solid reason behind the long wait.
Gad, who voices Olaf, revealed that the delay is to ensure the movie is more than just another sequel. Disney wants to make sure it’s truly worthy of the beloved first film from 2013.
Gad explained that the team is working hard on crafting a story that will live up to the huge success of both Frozen and its 2019 sequel. He promised that Disney is putting in the effort to deliver something fans will be excited about after all these years. But, he warned, any further details could land him in hot water with Disney’s legal team.

In James Cameron's 2009 ultra-hit "Avatar," Joel David Moore plays Dr. Norm Spellman, an anthropologist who travels to the distant moon of Pandora to study its indigenous residents, the Na'vi, as well as the planet's varied flora and fauna. Dr. Spellman is gregarious and possesses a light sense of humor, making him a good friend to his fellow humans but a bad match for the more stern Na'vi locals. He, like several of the human characters in "Avatar," has his consciousness shunted into the body of a Na'vi/human clone so that he can breathe the air and traverse the terrain more comfortably. Moore handles the role well, and, despite limited screen time, infuses Dr. Spellman with a great deal of affable humanity.
It seems that Cameron auditioned at least one other notable comedian for the role, as Josh Gad was apparently a finalist to play Dr. Spellaman. In 2009, Gad...

Maybe it’s because I’m a writer, but sports competition documentaries leave me cold. Same for those harrowing true-life tales of mountain climbers, free divers and, worst of all, surfers.

Josh Gad relives making it to the final round of auditions for Avatar only to be cut for a unique reason. Directed by James Cameron and released in 2009, the sci-fi action epic stars Sam Worthington as Jake Sully, a paraplegic marine who joins forces with the native aliens of Pandora against invading humans. The Avatar cast includes Zoe Saldaña as Neytiri, Stephen Lang as Miles Quaritch, Sigourney Weaver as Grace Augustine, Giovanni Ribisi as Parker Selfridge, and Joel David Moore as Norm Spellman, but, Gad, best known for voicing Olaf in Frozen, is not among them.
In his new memoir, In Gad We Trust (via EW), Gad reveals that he made it quite far in the audition process for the first Avatar before losing out on the part. Gad reveals that he was up for "the role of Jake Sully’s best friend and translator to the alien race known as the Na’vi.

Josh Gad, best known for his role in Frozen, shared an interesting story in his memoir, In Gad We Trust. Back in 2009, while performing on Broadway in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Gad was eager to explore new opportunities in film and television.
One of the roles he auditioned for was in James Cameron’s sci-fi blockbuster Avatar, Variety reveals. Gad described how he submitted an audition tape and was soon invited to Cameron’s Lightstorm production offices in Los Angeles for a final callback.
The role he aimed for was Jake Sully’s best friend and translator to the Na’vi, a pivotal part in the film.
Despite Cameron being impressed with his performance, Gad didn’t land the role:
I apparently did not get [the role] because, while James Cameron was said to be thrilled with my audition, when I was turned into a digital Avatar I supposedly looked like a tall,...

Josh Gad missed out on a role in 'Avatar' because he resembled a "tall, overweight Smurf" in character. The 43-year-old star tried out for a part as a Na'vi in James Cameron's 2009 sci-fi epic but was turned down for the blockbuster as he didn't meet the physical requirements.Josh recalled in his new memoir 'In Gad We Trust': "I put myself on tape and shortly thereafter got a call that Cameron wanted to fly me to Los Angeles for a final callback at his Lightstorm production offices."I apparently did not get (the role) because, while James Cameron was said to be thrilled with my audition, when I was turned into a digital Avatar I supposedly looked like a tall, overweight Smurf."Josh also lent his voice to the loveable snowman Olaf in Disney's hugely successful 'Frozen' movies but regrets using his own dulcet tones...

Josh Gad knows exactly why he wasn't cast in James Cameron's epic franchise of Avatar films — and it's a funnier reason than you might think. The actor is speaking out about his experience auditioning for the popular movies in his new memoir, In Gad We Trust (out now), and even though he got far in the audition process — going so far as to fly out to Los Angeles to meet with director Cameron — he didn't get the part due to his looks. Well, his blue looks.
As excerpted by Entertainment Weekly, Gad says he auditioned "to play the role of Jake Sully (Sam Worthington)'s best friend and translator to the alien race known as the Na'vi" during a decidedly joyless run in the Broadway musical, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, back in 2006. And though Gad was committed to staying in the show until his contracted run was through,...

Josh Gad almost landed a role in the 2009 sci-fi epic “Avatar,” but he didn’t quite have the physical archetype James Cameron was looking for.
In his new memoir, “In Gad We Trust,” the “Frozen” actor recalls while desperate to find a reprieve from starring in “The 25th Annual Putman County Spelling Bee” on Broadway, he went out to audition for other TV and film roles. And “one of the first things” he tried out for was a “new James Cameron movie called ‘Avatar.'”
“I put myself on tape and shortly thereafter got a call that Cameron wanted to fly me to Los Angeles for a final callback at his Lightstorm production offices,” he said. If cast, Gad would’ve played “the role of Jake Sully’s (Sam Worthington) best friend and translator to the alien race known as the Na’vi.”
Gad continued, “I apparently did not get [the role] because,...

"That's the first time I've ever said that. I hope I don't get in trouble for it. Please forgive me, Amazon. We are very much in the weeds, hoping to shoot by the end of the year. This is very much a sequel.
