Graduated summa cum laude from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, in New Brunswick, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism & Mass Media and in Latin American Studies in 1994. While there, she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.

Married by the Rev. Bossart at Phipps Mansion in Denver, Colorado.

Hobbies include skiing.
