SARA HALLOWELL (Screenwriter) is a writer/ director of film. television, and theater.
Her short films have garnered multiple accolades, including a Panavision grant and Best Short Film/Audience awards at U.S. festivals. She won four consecutive awards through Filmaka's international competition, judged by renowned directors including Werner Herzog, Neil LaBute and Wim Wenders.
As a screenwriter, her projects have earned recognition in over fifty competitions, topping Coverfly's RedList. In 2023, her pilot "Gone Hollywood" was optioned by Pickfair Productions, while Creative Chaos optioned her feature "Hidden People." Her newest pilot "I Am the Storm," co-written with Arabella Field. was selected for Stowe Story Labs in 2024.
Her play "Blood Moon" has been developed at several prestigious theaters, including Rogue Machine Theater and The Blank Theater, with staged readings directed by Arye Gross and starring Barbara Bain.
Sara has also created commercial content for major brands and artists. including New Line Cinema, Best Buy and photographer Matthew Rolston. She is a member of SAG-AFTRA, AEA, and the Alliance of Women Directors.
