Born in Chicago Heights and raised in the south suburbs of Chicago, Seth McClellan is a versatile filmmaker who has produced, directed, shot, and edited films that have screened at many film festivals, in schools, and streamed and aired on TV and around the world. Credits include: Guaranteed in Gary (2023, PBS), Heart of All (2022, National Endowment for the Humanities), Others Before Self (2021, "moving, beautifully filmed documentary" Cinefile), Little Wound's Warriors (2017, "powerful" TimeOut), Creative Writing (2014, resentment, racism, yearning for fame - they're all roiling" Chicago Sun-Times), Chicago Heights (2010, Roger Ebert's top-ten "Best Art Films of 2010"), King in Chicago (2009, PBS/WTTW).
As an actor, he appeared in many commercials and in Hollywood and indie films that played many festivals, including Sundance.
McClellan teaches at Triton College and lives with his family just west of Chicago, in Oak Park, and was listed in 2014 as one of the 50 most influential Chicago filmmakers by New City Magazine.
