“Today, I’m holding in my heart all the tough, tenacious women who made me who I am,” Gaga said in a short speech following her performance of “God Bless America.” “I cast my vote for someone who will be a president for all Americans. Tomorrow, let’s make sure all your voices are heard.”
Oprah Winfrey also appeared at the event, which was hosted on the iconic steps of the Philadelphia Art Museum. Another Harris rally was simultaneously held in Pittsburgh, with Katy Perry assuming the role of headliner.

Beyoncé is set to appear at Vice President Kamala Harris’ rally in Houston, Texas, on Friday, October 25th, according to multiple reports.
NBC reports the pop star is also expected to perform at Harris’ stop in Beyoncé’s hometown, with The Washington Post adding she will bring along her mother Tina Knowles, as well as country icon Willie Nelson.
In August, Beyoncé was rumored to be a special guest at the final night of the Democratic National Convention, though it turned out that no performance was ever planned.
As the election looms, figures like Taylor Swift, Charli Xcx, Insane Clown Posse (!?!?!), and others have made their support for the Democratic nominee known, while others like Chappell Roan and Julian Casablancas explained their reasoning for abstaining from making a formal endorsement (though the former clarified she would still be voting for Harris come November).

Samantha Bee found constitutional enlightenment beneath the gleaming painted smile of the Insane Clown Posse on Full Frontal Wednesday.
In a segment focused on recent free speech issues, Bee looked at the Juggalo March, which Icp held in protest of the FBI's decision to label them "a loosely organized hybrid gang" in 2011. The designation has had real consequences for fans, one of whom said she lost physical custody of her kids because she went to an Icp concert.

While the current DC Extended Universe has just recently become stable thanks to the success of Wonder Woman, the studio announced last week that an origin story for one of their most iconic characters, the Joker, is in the works. The film will not feature Jared Leto as the Clown Prince of Crime, and will be the first under DC’s new banner which will produce films that exist outside the current DC Extended Universe. The new universe is said to explore unusual versions of DC's characters and with that, it is thought that directors and screenwriters will have more freedom under this new banner than the with the current Dceu.
According to insider sources as reported by THR, the current Joker, played by Jared Leto, was apparently surprised by the news of DC’s new plans and was said to not be happy about the idea of multiple Jokers.

Six days ago, the historic Women's March on Washington took place in the nation's capitol. Millions of women marched in numerous cities around the country, just one day after the inauguration of U.S. President Donald Trump. Today we have word that a much different march on Washington is being set up this fall by the controversial "horrorcore" rap group Insane Clown Posse, at the National Mall in Washington D.C. The march is set for September 16, 2017, with the group asking its loyal fans known as "Juggalos" to come out in full force, to protest a 2011 FBI report that classified the "Juggalos" as a "gang."
The march was first announced at the annual Gathering of Juggalos last year, but now a date has been announced and an official website launched at JuggaloMarch.com. The website includes a lengthy statement from Icp, which is comprised of rappers Joseph "Violent J" Bruce...

If there’s anybody that knows his way around gory, over-the-top horror, it’s Evil Dead star Bruce Campbell, a man who’s been sprayed with more brightly dyed corn syrup than the kids in the front row of an Insane Clown Posse concert. To promote his just-returned Starz series Ash Vs. Evil Dead, Campbell recently sat down with co-star Lucy Lawless to offer up their opinions on some other entries in the pantheon of great horror movie scenes.
And while the results were a little surprising—Ghost Ship is a better piece of filmmaking than Alien, apparently—it’s mostly just fun to hear the two long-time co-workers dish on guys in masks and the bit where a woman gets turned into a “meat puppet” in Hellraiser III. Plus, the producers slip in a clip from Evil Dead II, prompting Campbell to declare it “a classic motion picture,” even...

Corktown issue #2 from Alterna Comics, available today wherever you buy comics, continues the story of Torrie, a dead Detroit cop who is doing her best to stop the creature that killed her. It details her struggles in getting the attention of anyone in the land of the living to solve the crime.
Overall, this, and the first issue, were quite well done. Sometimes the little things in a story are what endear you to it. With the story being set in my home state of Michigan, right from the start it had my attention and it didn’t disappoint. With Last Week Hiatus on their late-summer vacation, John Oliver took a break from Donald Drumpf bashing to focus on another issue plaguing our society: The non-stop barrage of superhero movies invading our multiplexes.
"Every year, the market is flooded with movies about superheroes. Just this year, blockbusters included movies ranging from 'Mean Spider-Man' [Deadpool] to 'Sad Man Versus Super Sad Man' [Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice] to 'The Insane Clown Posse Takes Manhattan' [Suicide Squad]," Oliver said. "I do think some audience members are becoming fatigued from watching the same characters over and over again.

The much anticipated, inaugural image of Jared Leto as the Joker has officially hit the internet. Both newer fans and Clown Prince traditionalists alike became instantly up in arms over the grill-sporting, self-referential tattoo baring, Insane Clown Posse-looking Leto.
For rabid fans, the memories are still fresh of a time when we were ready to take to the streets when the teen heart throb from “10 Things I Hate About You” was cast as the Ace of Knaves in “The Dark Knight”. Thankfully, Heath Ledger turned out a performance so legendary, it practically erased “A Knight’s Tale” from public memory.
Ledger’s Joker certainly isn’t the first time someone flexed a little creative liberty in their portrayal of Batman’s arch-nemesis. Since the Joker’s inception in 1940, he has been portrayed as silly, inept, brilliant, savage, debonair, handsome, gruesome and he has even been…a she!

The clown community has a bit of a PR problem right now. First there was a freaky-deaky clown harassing people in a small California town. Then American Horror Story: Freak Show returned and brought with it a nightmarish clown. Halloween season is always a metaphorical tiny car surprisingly full of literal scary clowns, and there’s the ongoing problem of the Insane Clown Posse. For Randy Christensen, this issue is no laughing matter. As president-elect of the World Clown Association, Christensen, who performs as Oxford P. Nuts, among other names, is serious about what constitutes real clowning — and scary stuff ain’t it. We spoke with Christensen about the current fraught state of clowning and how people should understand the spate of frightening doppelgängers. What do people need to understand about the problem with scary clowns? Technically, I don’t even refer to horror clowns as clowns. They’re horror characters.

Satirize This: Bilandic’s Scruffy Send-up of NYC Art Scene
Though starting off on a stronger note than where it eventually ends up, Michael M. Bilandic’s sophomore feature, Hellaware is an entertaining satire of the ultra-pretentious art scene in New York. Filled with sharp one liners and skewering observations of the self-important hipster scene, it’s a group that’s easy to target, which may explain why it eventually feels a bit inconsequential once it fosters its full circle treatment. But Bilandic’s acerbic, hilarious wit is often more than enough to carry the narrative through a slim manifestation.
While at a ridiculous and utterly pretentious art gallery of what looks like a variety of depraved children’s’ paintings, jaded struggling artist Nate (Keith Poulson) miserably shares his critical hatred for such types with tagalong friends Bernadette (Sophia Takal) and Gauguin (Duane C. Wallace), apparently taking the name of the famed artist.

Michael M. Bilandic’s “Hellaware” is cleverly, if absurdly, titled —the portmanteau of “Hell” and “Delaware” conjuring up the fiery depths into which this film's protagonist sinks after a fateful trip to The First State. But it also could be seen as a mashup of “hella” and “aware,” which could aptly describe the pretentious Brooklyn artsy hipsters that populate the protagonist’s milieu: highly self-conscious, self-styled individuals, whose “art” is all style and no substance. In reaction to that, “Hellaware” is a cynical, caustic, and often very funny send up of not only the current commercial art world but the entire borough of Brooklyn. In doing so, the film manages to make a very silly and stereotypical Insane Clown Posse-esque rap rock group look like the good guys. Nate (Keith Poulson) is our protagonist, and eventual anti-hero, a struggling artist frustrated by the successes of those around him who are celebrated for their gimmicky,...

It just ain't easy being a Juggalo in modern America. Us District Court judge Robert Cleland ruled last week that the FBI did nothing wrong when it named the semi-frightening fan base of rap-metal group Insane Clown Posse a “loosely organized hybrid gang” in a 2011 report. The fans got tagged with the label thanks to some of their members’ criminal activity — assault, vandalism and worse — and the fact that their logo is a man running with a hatchet. On Tuesday, the Insane Clown Posse and four of their "Juggalo" fans asked the 6th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals to review a judge's ruling late last month rejecting the hip-hop group's lawsuit against the Justice Department. List The Hollywood Reporter Reveals Hollywood's 100 Favorite Films The dispute emanated from a 2011 gang threat assessment issued by the National Gang Intelligence Center. The report was intended to examine emerging trends and threats posed by criminal gangs throughout the United States. In a section on "non-traditional gangs," the authors flagged some Juggalos as "forming more organized subsets and

The Insane Clown Posse and their Juggalo fans say they're Not a gang ... but for now the FBI can keep calling them one because a federal judge has tossed out the band's lawsuit. Icp had filed the suit -- along with several Juggalos -- claiming the FBI wrongly classified them as a hybrid criminal gang. They say police hassle them because of the gang label. One fan who sued is in the military and fears punishment from superiors.

Inventor Colin Furze is clearly a busy dude – and a mad scientist. Last week, we showed you video of him demonstrating his awesome air-powered Wolverine claws. This week, it’s his take on Magneto. While Furze hasn’t figured out a way to move metal with his mind (yet), he has concocted a nifty pair of magnetic boots that allow him to walk across the ceiling of his laboratory/shed, and demonstrate that he's way smarter than the Insane Clown Posse when it comes to understanding how magnets work. These clodhoppers might be a little clunky in the looks department (you won’t be all Lionel Richie “Dancin’ on the Ceiling” when you put these bad boys on), but there’s no denying they work quite well for traversing from point...

Like so many artistic creations, the concept album is not precisely defined. In a vague sense, it’s any record where all the songs contain linked musical or lyrical ideas, sometimes telling a story and even occasionally featuring a protagonist – like The Who’s Tommy – yet other times it’ll just be a loose theme that is explored across the album’s tracks.
Any genre can produce a concept album. Progressive rock is well-known for it, but concept albums exist in country, jazz, pop and, indeed, across the whole musical landscape. It’s seen a resurgence recently: in 2004, Green Day brought the concept album to a new generation and a new audience with American Idiot, an MTV-ready album that loudly proclaimed the band’s politics and spawned multiple hits, and rap group Insane Clown Posse have nearly formed a cult around their albums prophesying a demented clown carnival.

This year's Sundance Grand Jury award winner makes its way to Hot Docs, and it's one of those documentaries that lets the subjects do all the heavy lifting. Using the cinéma vérité observational style of filmmaking, "Rich Hill" is a powerful story about rural living in modern times.
Andrew, Harley and Appachey are three teenage boys trying to make their way through life in the small and relatively poor town of Rich Hill, Missouri. These young bucks are facing troubles beyond their years, with not a lot of support. Too young to strike out on their own, but too old to shirk responsibility, their stories are evidence that give credibility to a haunting version of the American Dream. "Rich Hill" doesn't provide any answers, but all the questions come from the real lives of its three subjects.
The most endearing character in this trio has to be 14-year-old Andrew. He's handsome,...

I had the chance to speak with underground rap icons Twiztid while they were promoting their brand new Ep 'Get Twiztid' during the Bootleg Banner Tour. Members Jamie Madrox and Monoxide commented on how their departure from longtime label Psychopathic Records has affected them as well as their plans on releasing a new full length record during the first quarter of 2015. Twiztid left longtime music label Psychopathic Records at the end of 2012, not long after their final album on the Insane Clown Posse founded company, ‘Abominationz’, was unleashed upon the masses to great critical acclaim. They've since released two Ep's, a mixtape and have toured steadily since their departure. With the group's new distribution deal at INgrooves, it looks like Madrox and Monoxide are finally ready to...

This week, alternative comedy's single greatest sentence constructor Patton Oswalt premieres Tragedy + Comedy = Time, his fifth hour-long special for Comedy Central (airing April 6), and his soon-to-be-released fifth stand-up LP. Having built a career on punk-rock touring cycles and venomous rants against fast food chains, Oswalt is now masterfully and hilariously playing the long game, embracing less esoteric references (though Werner Herzog still gets a shout-out) and accepting the things that make him an adult. As the guy who once took down Jackyl on a comedy album lays out: "I don't hate any music any more…...

After a questionable political career as the governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger is very much an actor again. Even Arnold's age can only be identified through the use of high-powered electron microscopes, the beefy thespian has been been making a ton of movies recently -- from the Sylvester Stallone team-up movie "Escape Plan" (woof) to the never-ending "Expendables" movies (the third is due out in August). The latest is "Sabotage," a murder mystery action movie set in the world of the DEA.
The movie has a pretty loaded roster of bad-asses in the form of supporting actors Sam Worthington, Terrence Howard, Joe Manganiello, Harold Perrineau, Martin Donovan, Max Martini and Josh Holloway, all of whom pack plenty of firepower (if you know what I mean) with Mireille Enos and Olivia Williams ensuring that it's not a total sausage fest. There are many, many cases of ammunition spent in this movie.

Nearly a year and a half after announcing plans to sue, the Insane Clown Posse has officially filed a lawsuit against the FBI for allegedly violating their rights of free expression and association and due process. In the filing submitted today by Icp members Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope, along with four other Juggalos, the group claims the FBI falsely categorized the band and its followers as a "loosely affiliated hybrid gang" in its 2011 National Gang Threat Assessment. The band is represented by the Aclu, and we would like to float the idea now that Matthew McConaughey portray their lawyer in the big-screen adaptation of the trial.

They’re no strangers to controversy and it seems Insane Clown Posse's antics over the years have garnered the attention of the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Justice Department.
Violent J (Joseph Bruce) and Shaggy 2 Dope (Joseph William Utsler) have joined forces with four of their biggest fans to file a lawsuit against the FBI and Department of Justice for violating their constitutional rights by classifying their Juggalo following as a gang.
Mr. J explained, “It’s time for the FBI to come to its senses and recognize that Juggalos are not a gang but a worldwide family united by the love of music.
“There has never been — and will never be — a music fan base quite like Juggalos, and while it is easy to fear what one does not understand, discrimination and bigotry against any group of people is just plain wrong and un-American.”

Coulrophobia. Fear of clowns. Yeah, folks, it's real. We're not sure if it's a generational thing or a nature versus nurture thing, but the time of the clown as a happy-go-lucky bringer of good cheer has gone by the wayside.
These days you're more likely to see them blood-soaked and maniacal in your local Halloween store than making children laugh with their goofy antics. However, in our ongoing quest to understand human fear, we've researched and discovered that society (of course) is most likely to blame for giving these once beloved jesters a bad name.
And being a card-carrying coulrophobiac myself, it's with great pleasure (and trepidation) that I give you a look into the vilification of these poor souls in this Tip of the Scalpel to Evil Clowns.
We can hypothesize as to why so many people are now disturbed by clowns. However, let's look at what we do know for a fact.

The rap duo Insane Clown Posse (or Icp) has been a sub-cultural fixation for about two decades (or more), thanks in large part to their unique breed fans, known collectively as “Juggalos.” Often (but not always) sporting the painted faces of the horrorcore showmen, Juggalos have in some ways become more famous than the band who inspired their creation.
But while TV shows like It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia and Workaholics have shone a fictional (and let’s be honest, mockingly comedic) light on the Juggalos (lifestyle? Movement? Hobby?), there hasn’t been much balanced and objective exploration of this unique brand of fandom… That is, until Whoop Dreams came along.
For those who don’t know: since the year 2000, the Icp record label, Psychopathic Records, has held an annual festival for fans known as “The Gathering of the Juggalos” ...

Written and directed by University of Texas graduate Michael Bilandic (who we interviewed before Austin Film Festival began), Hellaware is a playful modern morality tale that explores the ups and downs a young photographer experiences while trying to make himself a part of the New York art scene.
Hellaware stars Keith Poulson (Somebody Up There Likes Me) as Nate, a slacker with abstract dreams of fame and just a few vague ideas about how to actually achieve it. After his girlfriend (Kate Lyn Sheil) dumps him to be with the pigtail-wearing Brooklyn artist of the moment, he descends into a downward spiral of self-pity and complaints. One night while attempting to mute his sorrows with booze, drugs and the internet, Nate and his friends (played by Sophia Takal and Duane C. Wallace) stumble across something on YouTube that is mesmerizing in its repulsiveness.
