The film follows biochemist Michael Morbius (Leto) as he tries to cure his rare blood disorder. Taking a chance, he tries a new solution which seems to work at first. But soon, the scientist ends up becoming a vampire. Morbius the character was one of Spider-Man's most interesting villains, because he was truly conflicted: he's a genuinely good man, yet he has to tame his vampire urges.

The Art Directors Guild came together tonight to celebrate the 29th Annual Excellence in Production Design Awards at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown on Saturday night, February 15, 2024.

Jaime Camil is set to make his return to the NBC comedy “Lopez vs. Lopez,” Variety has learned exclusively.

Camil previously appeared in four episodes of the multi-camera series during its second season in the role of Josué Consuelos, the unfaithful ex-boyfriend of Rosie (Selenis Leyva). He will now appear in two episodes of the show’s ongoing third season.

First up, Camil will return in the episode airing on Jan. 3, titled “Lopez vs. Escándalo.” The official logline for that episode reads, “George has a pretty big secret to keep when he starts secretly spending time with Rosie’s ex. NBC has ordered three extra scripts each of its Friday comedies Happy’s Place and Lopez vs. Lopez. As Deadline reported today, both multi-camera sitcoms had originally been picked up for 13 episodes.

Broadcast networks often commission additional scripts of shows they are considering for back episodic orders as a way to keep the writers rooms working. Based on Happy’s Place and George vs. Lopez‘s ratings performance in the coming weeks, they may receive a pickup for more scripts and/or start converting script into episodic orders.

Sony’s Morbius brought a dark side to the Marvel Universe, bringing a unique twist to the superhero genre. While the movie was a critical and commercial failure, a sequel seemed inevitable. Released in 2022, Morbius earned $73 million domestically against a $75 million budget. As critics blamed its outdated plot, lackluster special effects, and disjointed story, some fans were impressed by the movie, giving it a 71% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Exclusive: Ronny Chieng, one of the hosts of The Daily Show, is getting back into the stand-up specials business.

The comedian has set his latest special Love To Hate It for Netflix to be released on December 17.

George Lopez is retiring from stand-up comedy.

Announcing the news while interviewing on “Tamron Hall,” Lopez, 63, said he’d be done with his stage career officially after his upcoming special drops on Amazon’s Prime Video.

“It is the last one,” Lopez said. “I’ve subjected the American people to enough of my crap. It seems like the right time. It’s been the one thing that has just never left me my whole life and, in respect to it, it’s a wonderful place to leave it at this particular point.”

Lopez’s final one-hour special was shot at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles on Sept. 27 and 28 as part of his “Alllriiiighhttt! Comedy” tour. It will be his first special in four years, since 2020’s “We’ll Do It for Half” on Netflix.

Lopez revealed that he will be retiring from stand-up comedy after the release of his upcoming special on Amazon’s Prime Video.

Speaking to Tamron Hall on her syndicated talk show, Lopez said, “It is the last one. I’ve subjected the American people to enough of my crap. Writer-director Mike Young’s action-comedy feature Stealing Jokes is set for release next month from Freestyle Digital Media.

Comedian Mitch Hedberg is set to be the focus of a forthcoming documentary, nearly two decades after his death.

Director Jeff Siegel, who is nominated for a 2024 Emmy, is helming the feature that has wrapped principal photography after a filming process that began five years ago. The project, which is currently untitled and does not yet have a planned release date, is set to include archival footage, home movies and interviews with loved ones, childhood friends and fellow comics.

The filmmakers have conducted more than 100 interviews across the country for the film. Among those offering perspective on Hedberg’s life and career are Lewis Black, Jim Gaffigan, B.J. In a new conversation with Deadline, Morbius director Daniel Espinosa commented on directing the movie. He now says he realizes he wasn't a good "fit" for that project, as he's someone who tries to bring a lot of ideas to the projects he works on. NBC has renewed “Lopez vs. Lopez” for Season 3, while “Extended Family” has been canceled after one season.

In the recently concluded second season of “Lopez vs. Lopez,” Mayan (Mayan Lopez) and the Lopez family underwent big changes while George (George Lopez) took his first step in sobriety. Alongside the Lopezes, the cast includes Selenis Leyva, Matt Shively, Brice Gonzalez and Al Madrigal.

Per Live + Same Day data from Nielsen, Season 2 premiered to 2.3 million viewers and ranged from 1.5 to 2.2 million viewers for the rest of the season, while NBCUniversal notes that the show has reached 10 million viewers to date across platforms, including Peacock. Season 3 will debut during the 2024-2025 broadcast season.

The move comes as NBC has also handed a series order to Happy’s Place, the comedy starring Reba McEntire. Extended Family has been canceled.

This solidifies NBC’s comedy plans for the 2024/25 season, which also include the return of Night Court for a third season.

In its second season, which ended at in April, Mayan and the Lopez family underwent big changes while George took his first step in sobriety.

The sitcom follows George and Mayan, a previously estranged father and daughter, as they make up for the lost time in their relationship. With George’s return to their lives, he becomes a dependable source of unorthodox parental wisdom for Mayan, especially regarding her son, Chance. Meanwhile, although they maintain a civil relationship, George’s former spouse, Rosie, still harbors some resentment toward him. The Lopez family perseveres through their fair share of family drama, fueled by the desire to stay on good terms.

Lisa Rinna is set for a guest starring role on the NBC series “Lopez vs. Lopez,” Variety has learned exclusively.

Rinna will appear in the series as a client of George’s (George Lopez) moving company who subsequently becomes his love interest.

As an actress, Rinna is perhaps best known for her time on the soap opera “Days of Our Lives,” on which she appeared in more than 600 episodes over the years. She also starred in the hit Fox drama series “Melrose Place” for three seasons. More recently, Rinna has appeared on shows like “American Horror Stories” at Hulu and “So Help Me Todd” for CBS. She stars in the upcoming Lifetime movie “Mommy Meanest,” which premieres May 11.

Rinna is also known for her time on the hit reality series “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” on which she was a main cast member for eight seasons.
