Growing up is hard. And if you’re a young girl looking for relatable content about friends, shifting family dynamics and staying true to yourself in this digital world, you’d be hard pressed to find many solid viewing options. That’s where Apple TV+’s new original “Amber Brown” fills a void.
The 10-part show is an adaptation of Paula Danziger’s popular children’s book series of the same name. When viewers meet Amber Brown (played by Carsyn Rose) she is starting the sixth grade in the middle of three big crises: her parents are getting divorced, her mom is with a new man and her best friend Justin (Joshua Gallup) is moving away.
Creator, writer and director Bonnie Hunt ages Amber from nine to 11 in this iteration in order to appeal to those younger viewers who historically “watch up.” The result is a series about a girl...

I have to admit that, much like a good portion of Netlfix users, I did not have high hopes for “Is It Cake?” based on initial previews. The streaming reality TV competition showcases contestants creating cakes that replicate common objects in an effort to trick celebrity judges. Winners of each episode receive 5,000 and a chance to win more money by identifying which display of cash is real and which is cake.
After that initial first episode, I was hooked on a show that is not only worth your time, but Emmy consideration as well. Here are five reasons why “Is It Cake?” should be on your watchlist and on Emmy voters’ minds.

Now that the “America’s Got Talent” Season 15 auditions and Judge Cuts rounds are a thing of the past, it’s time to gear up for the all-important live shows, in which 44 acts will perform for America’s vote. Tour our photos above for a preview of the first group of 11 “Agt” quarter-finalists that will take the live stage at Universal Studios Hollywood on Tuesday, August 11, 2020. This group notably includes one Golden Buzzer: Sofia Vergara‘s child singer Roberta Battaglia.

Several of the acts who initially auditioned online during the remote auditions due to stay-at-home orders will now come to Hollywood to perform, despite there not being a live studio audience. Host Terry Crews returned for this 15th season, as did judges Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel and Heidi Klum; new judge Sofia joined the...

The Judge Cuts round of “America’s Got Talent” season 15 began on July 28 with another two-hour episode that saw the series doing things a little bit different in order to keep the crew and talent socially distant from one another. In this phase of “Agt,” judges Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Howie Mandel and Sofia Vergara convened on an outdoor set for a drive-in movie themed viewing of the acts filmed from home.
Absent from the Judge Cuts are the five acts that advanced from the auditions round straight to the live shows for receiving a Golden Buzzer from one of the judges or host Terry Crews. Those were Voices of Our City Choir (Terry’s pick), singer Roberta Battaglia (Sofia’s pick), singer Cristina Rae (Heidi’s pick), dance group Waffle Crew (Simon’s pick) and spoke word artist Brandon Leake (Howie’s pick).

For years Simon Cowell hasn’t really been in love with the Judge Cuts round of “America’s Got Talent.” Going from the Pasadena-set auditions, where about 3,000 screaming fans fill NBC’s reality TV show with love and laughter, to the intimate setting of the Judge Cuts, where only about 250 people watch in the Dolby Theatre, has always been a big “drop in energy,” Simon tells our sister site Deadline. However, because the coronavirus pandemic shut down much of Hollywood, it forced the “Agt” producers to come up with an exciting new twist for the upcoming Season 15 Judge Cuts.

It’s not often, or ever, that one of the “America’s Got Talent” acts has already met all of the celebrity judges prior to their first audition. But in comedian Michael Yo‘s case, he was already familiar with Simon Cowell, Howie Mandel, Sofia Vergara, Eric Stonestreet and even the missing Heidi Klum before he took the stage on Tuesday night. As a previous host and reporter on E!, Michael had the chance to interview each of the judges years ago. Now, in his quest to live out his dream he’s come to “Agt” in order to make them laugh. When getting ready to vote this morning, our mental checklist went something like: valid driver's license, polling-location notice, oversize sunglasses and, of course, a camera to capture us making cheeky poses in the voting booth.

When it comes to being the leader of the Free World, it would probably behoove you to remain neutral on totally inconsequential pop culture feuds. Unfortunately, common sense behooves you to recognize Mariah Carey as the flawless diva genius she is, which is why we’re assuming President Obama decided to hype her on Michael Yo‘s radio show over Nicki Minaj. “Mariah. She’s actually done some events for us. I’ve gotten to know her and Nick [Cannon]. She’s a wonderful lady,” Potus said when asked which of the two AI judges he preferred. According to TMZ, he added “Nicki, I don’t know, but I’ve got her on my iPod.” Shouldn’t have done that Mitt Romney shout out, girl!
