Hope Runs High has acquired U.S. rights to Augusto Sandino’s sophomore feature “A Vanishing Fog,” which won the SXSW Zeiss cinematography prize. The film is slated for an early 2024 opening in U.S. theaters. It’s the first feature to be shot in Colombia’s Sumapaz Páramo, the largest ecosystem of its kind in the world.

“In the middle of the staggering and endangered Sumapaz Paramo ecosystem; F, a solitary explorer, strives to protect the mystical and fragile land he inhabits, while caring for his ailing father,” the synopsis reads.

“Augusto Sandino’s incredible blend of playful surrealism and the overwhelming individuality of the environment in which the film is set has stayed with me since my first viewing. I believe his ability to balance visual scale, cinematic playfulness, and true heart make him an artist we should be engaging with frequently,” said Hope Runs High curator Taylor Purdee.

We Summon the Darkness trailer teases the heavy metal horror, which stars Alexandra Daddario. The movie premiered at Fantastic Fest last year and is hitting VOD, along with Digital HD on April 10th. It was announced today that Four-time Oscar-nominated actor Ethan Hawke has signed on the New Orleans-set heist movie Cut Throat City, directed by RZA (of the Wu Tang Clan). The film also stars Terrence Howard, Wesley Snipes, Eiza Gonz&#225lez, Kat Graham, Tip "T.I." Brandon Sklenar has been cast in Midway, the Roland Emmerich-helmed WWII drama starring Woody Harrelson, Patrick Wilson, Ed Skrein, Aaron Eckhart, Luke Evans, Mandy Moore, Dennis Quaid, and Nick Jonas. Wes Tooke wrote the script for the film, which is based on the true story of the Battle of Midway, considered to be the turning point in the war against Japan in WWII. Sklenar will play George ‘Tex’ Gay Jr., who was the sole survivor of the 30-aircrew that participated in the pivotal Battle of Midway. Alan Schoolcraft and Brent Simons, the writing team behind the 2010 DreamWorks Animation movie Megamind, are coming on board to pen Super Day Care, an animated project set up at Skydance Productions.

Actor Michael B. Jordan is producing the project via his Outlier Productions banner. Scott Glassgold of Ground Control Entertainment and Jarod Einsohn will also produce.

Plot details are scarce, but Super Day Care is set in a world in which there are superheroes and supervillains but only one super day care for all the super children.

The narrative explores the practice of "live-in staging," in which recently evicted families are recruited to live in unsold properties. Filmmaker Jason Reitman will conduct the live reading of the movie at Film Independent at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art Thursday night, reports eonline.com.

Back in June, we reported that Lindsay Lohan and adult film actor James Deen signed on to star in The Canyons, a Kickstarter-funded drama from director Paul Schrader and writer Bret Easton Ellis. Today, we have the first trailer for this indie, which doesn't have a release date set at this time. This writer hit the set of the then-shooting Patrick Cunningham-directed feature Model Home in the La area enclave of Santa Clarita on July 9th and while there chatted with the filmmaker regarding the project as well as with co-producer Will Clevinger (The Devil’s Carnival) and more.

Shooting Day 19 of 20 in the entirely suburban and seemingly white-bread environ, it was hard not to feel that aliens with a hankering for Reese’s Pieces and nuclear families with daughters named "Carol Anne" would both feel entirely comfortable on the set of Model Home. The rented residence in which the production had set up shop and the homes that surrounded it were dotted with manicured lawns and tricycles with colorful handle-bar streamers, abandoned apparently by the pre-pubescent children who had ridden them. Smart perhaps, as what was shooting inside Model Home was fairly disconnected from the tranquility the family-centric locale strove for.

The actress has sparked speculation that she is dating Einsohn after the pair was spotted enjoying a dinner date together, reports the Daily Express.

She was snapped walking in Los Angeles with Einsohn's arms around her waist following a meal.

The pair, first spotted dining together earlier this month, spent the evening eating at Japanese restaurant Katsuya before they walked to a waiting car as Hewitt smiled for the cameras. (Ani)...

The star was forced to deny she was romantically involved with The Bachelorette star Ben Flajnik earlier this month, insisting she is "totally single".

But now Love Hewitt appears to have found a new man after she was snapped walking in Los Angeles with Einsohn's arms around her waist following a meal.

Isaiah Washington has booked his first major feature film role since exiting "Grey's Anatomy" in June.

Washington will star opposite Forest Whitaker in "Patriots", the Dimension's sports drama being directed by Tim Story.

Also joining the cast are Taraji P. Henson, Robbie Jones, Jackie Long, Eric Hill, Bow Wow, Lil' Wayne, Irma Hall, Jarod Einsohn, J.B. Smoove and Chyna McClain.

"Patriots", based on a true story, is set in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, when Al Collins, a high school basketball coach in Marrero, La., assembled a team of players who previously attended five different schools and led them on the path to the state championships.

Washington will play an assistant coach at John Ehret High who helps lead the squad.

Robert Eisele ("The Great Debaters") and Greg Allen Howard ("Remember the Titans") wrote the script. Raymond Brothers and Scott Glassgold of IAM Entertainment and Stephanie Allain and Michael Beugg are producing.

Shooting begins this week in New Orleans.
