Season 9 of “Below Deck Mediterranean” is bringing in strong viewership not only compared to previous seasons of the series, but to the “Below Deck” franchise overall, according to Multiplatform + 35 data.

The first 14 episodes of the season averaged 3.4 million viewers when accounting for 35 days of viewership, with 1.7 million of those viewers falling into the key adults 18-49 demographic. The final three episodes have yet to hit the 35-day mark, having aired on Sept. 9, 16 and 23. But provided that the season average remains steady, this will represent the best MP+35 viewership for any “Below Deck” series — including the flagship title plus “Below Deck Sailing Yacht,” “Below Deck Down Under” and “Below Deck Adventure” — since 2021, when “Below Deck Mediterranean” Season 6 hit a 35-day average of 3.5 million viewers (with 1.8 million among adults 18-49).

Blink49 Studios is staffing up its unscripted division.

The Fifth Season-backed company has hired Below Deck exec producer Nadine Rajabi as EVP, Unscripted.

Rajabi, based in LA, will report to Tara Long, who Deadline revealed earlier this year had joined the John Morayniss-run business as President of Unscripted Global Television.

She will work alongside Ri-Karlo Handy, SVP, Unscripted, the former Bounce TV exec who joined the company at the same time as Long to develop projects and oversee current in the U.S.

Rajabi has exec produced series including Below Deck Mediterranean and Below Deck and had a first-look deal with NBCUniversal via her Tanks Girl Productions banner.

“Nadine’s demonstrated success will be instrumental in advancing Blink49’s unscripted strategy forward,” said Long. “I have no doubt that she will dedicate her efforts to delivering best-in-class content, collaborating with top-tier talent and ensuring high-quality storytelling.”

Below Deck Mediterranean star Kyle Viljoen has revealed what happened with charter guest Frank Fay after the show wrapped.

Kyle was smitten with Frank from the moment he spotted the charter guest walking up the dock to the Home luxury yacht.

They did some heavy flirting with Frank while Frank and his friends were on charter, which is a big no-no and could have cost Kyle his job.

However, the connection was something Kyle had never felt before, and he wasn’t going to let it go.

Once Frank and his group left the yacht, the crew met up with them for a night out in Malta. Their goodbye was rom-com worthy, with Kyle and Frank’s first kiss ending the episode.

Season 6 of Bravo’s spinoff series Below Deck Mediterranean will be shovin’ right off on Peacock a week ahead of its cable launch, NBCUniversal said today.

The streamer also nabbed the kids version of “American Ninja Warrior” and a baking-themed spinoff of the DIY series “Making It.”
