Between the Buried and Me Announce New Album, Unveil Single “Things We Tell Ourselves in the Dark”: Stream
Image
Between the Buried and Me have announced a new album, The Blue Nowhere, out September 12th. The prog-metal vets also shared the video for the lead single, “Things We Tell Ourselves in the Dark.”

Opening with a funk riff and jazz fusion sound, Btbam bust out the extreme metal and harsh vocals around the three-minute mark, winding through intense prog workouts before pivoting back to the sunny jazz-funk. The rollercoaster eight-minute track is accompanied by an eye-popping Miles Skarin-directed video that features an intense particle simulation that took 17 hours to process and render.

“This track emerged from the maniac genius of [bassist] Dan Briggs,” said vocalist Tommy Rogers in a press release. “The song deals with the dark cloud that is ego, so I tried to vocally approach it with a different kind of confidence than normal, almost like a pop song… even though it takes you down crazy avenues,...

My Bloody Valentine Reboot in the Works at Blumhouse
Image
Blumhouse plans to reboot My Bloody Valentine, a Canadian slasher film from 1981. The original My Bloody Valentine from 1981 was criticized but gained favor over time, while the 2009 3D remake earned mixed reviews. Blumhouse has faced criticism following recent flops like Halloween Ends, but hopes upcoming projects will win back horror fans' trust.

The original cult-classic was directed by George Mihalka and earned $5.7 million dollars at the box office against a budget of just $2.3 million. A reboot directed by Patrick Lussier was released in 2009 titled My Bloody Valentine 3D, which would go on to rake in over $100 million against its measly budget of only $14 million dollars.

As per Bloody Disgusting, things are in the development stages right now for a My Bloody Valentine reboot. Theres no word on story details,...
