Between the Buried and Me have announced a new album, The Blue Nowhere, out September 12th. The prog-metal vets also shared the video for the lead single, “Things We Tell Ourselves in the Dark.”

Opening with a funk riff and jazz fusion sound, Btbam bust out the extreme metal and harsh vocals around the three-minute mark, winding through intense prog workouts before pivoting back to the sunny jazz-funk. The rollercoaster eight-minute track is accompanied by an eye-popping Miles Skarin-directed video that features an intense particle simulation that took 17 hours to process and render.

Blumhouse plans to reboot My Bloody Valentine, a Canadian slasher film from 1981. The original My Bloody Valentine from 1981 was criticized but gained favor over time, while the 2009 3D remake earned mixed reviews. Blumhouse has faced criticism following recent flops like Halloween Ends, but hopes upcoming projects will win back horror fans' trust.

It appears as if Blumhouse is looking to reboot yet another classic horror film, this time by way of the 1981 Canadian slasher flick, My Bloody Valentine. The original cult-classic was directed by George Mihalka and earned $5.7 million dollars at the box office against a budget of just $2.3 million. A reboot directed by Patrick Lussier was released in 2009 titled My Bloody Valentine 3D, which would go on to rake in over $100 million against its measly budget of only $14 million dollars.

This just in — Angus Macfadyen (Braveheart), Jamie King (Sin City), Doug Jones (The Shape Of Water), Corbin Bernsen (LA Law), and Angus Benfield (Inventing Anna), have just joined the cast of Mark Furmie’s upcoming action-thriller The Weight of Darkness. The film marks the first collaboration between Benfield’s Lama Entertainment and Rezistor Films with Simone Bonser (The Keeper) coming on board as the producer.

Beginning on June 23, World's Best will be available to stream exclusively on Disney+. The film centers around 12-year-old math genius, Prem, who finds his deceased father's notebook and realizes he's the son of hip-hop legend Suresh Patel. Determined to follow in Suresh's footsteps, Prem changes course to find out if he has what it takes to be a rap superstar.

Utkarsh Ambudkar and Manny Magnus star as the father-and-son duo, with Ambudkar also serving as a writer and executive producer. Ambudkar is known for his leading role in the CBS sitcom Ghosts and for portraying Manish Kulkarni in Netflix's Never Have I Ever. Meanwhile, Magnus has worked on projects such as Game Changer, I Want You Back, and Home Team. The titular hero in the Disney+ Star Wars series The Mandalorian shares passing similarities with another fan-favorite character from the original trilogy: Boba Fett. ‘World’s Best’, Disney’s all-new hip-hop musical comedy adventure, produced by the director of “Hamilton,” will stream exclusively on Disney+ Hotstar beginning June 23. Co-written, co-executive produced and starring Utkarsh Ambudkar, who co-wrote the film’s original songs, this Disney+ Original Movie was directed by radiation oncologist turned filmmaker Roshan Sethi.

Joining Ambudkar in the film are newcomer Manny Magnus, Punam Patel, Jake Choi, Max Malas, Piper Wallace, Kayla Njeri, Dorian Giordano, Kathryn Greenwood, Christopher Jackson and Doug E Fresh. “World’s Best” was written by Jamie King & Ambudkar, with original songs by Ambudkar and Charlie Wilder.

Produced by Thomas Kail, who directed the Broadway smash “Hamilton” and produced and directed the 2020 film version, and Kate Sullivan, the film reunites Kail and Ambudkar who first collaborated as director and performer, respectively, of the improvisational hip-hop comedy musical group Freestyle Love Supreme. Terry Gould and Ambudkar serve as the film’s executive producers.
