The Librarians franchise is heading back to TNT. After being pulled last week from The CW's fall schedule, The Librarians: The Next Chapter has been acquired by TNT, which was the home of the franchise's previous series, The Librarians.
Per Deadline, the network acquired The Librarians: The Next Chapter from Electric Entertainment, which produced the series. The Next Chapter was originally scheduled to premiere on The CW on Thursday, October 24, 2024, following an all-new episode of Superman & Lois, but was pulled from the schedule last week and replaced with the reality series, The Wranglers. No new premiere date for The Next Chapter has been announced at this time. TNT previously aired all four seasons of the franchise's predecessor, The Librarians, between 2014 and 2018.

I know, I know. The last think you want is yet another zombie story but this one, I promise, is different. After all, how often do you see a zombie movie that's kid friendly?
Admittedly John Kim's Calarts grad film Steadfast Stanley isn't really appropriate for the very young, there are still zombies tying to eat humans and severed body parts that move on their own, but the story takes a decidedly different, not to mention unexpected, approach that shifts the focus so that the story is as much about a boy and his dog as it is about zombies. It works on a couple of levels and all of them pretty awesome.
It's a great little primer for Halloween!

TNT has greenlit 10 episodes for a series based on The Librarians franchise, slated to air in late 2014. The TV movies told the story of a group of extra special librarians who live beneath the Metropolitan Public Library in New York and safeguard mystical relics from forces of evil by slapping them with outrageous overdue fees. The plot is a messy stew of Indiana Jones, National Treasure, and Hell Boy …but the product is less than the sum of its parts.

Australian sharksploitation film Bait 3D, which cost an estimated $20m to make, is to see a sequel despite disappointing local box office results since opening a fortnight ago.
The film’s producer Gary Hamilton said Bait 2 in 3D is already in development, due to better international results for the film, which will see a release in every major territory around the world.
Hamilton said: “We’re thrilled with how well Bait 3D is being received by audiences. It’s not only a commercially viable film that appeals to people from every walk of life, it’s high production value brings moviegoers into the story immediately and keeps them on the edge of their seats throughout the show. Bait 2 will bring even more.”
In opening weekend the film made $365,000 at the Australian box office for a low screen average of $1,290, followed by an even worse second weekend, taking $190,000 across 231 screens for a $825 screen average.

Clean up on aisle 12! Can someone bring the mop, sanitizer, and body bag?
I’ve been tracking Bait for a while now, ever since I stumbled upon some fanboys talking up a crazy Australian flick involving sharks and a super market. Such a premise was right up this horror aficionado’s alley, as it sounds like the perfect start of something full of campy action and indulgent aquatic gore. I mean, Snakes on a Plane worked, didn’t it?
Director Kimbel Rendall’s dangerous tale essentially plays off the same type of ludicrous scenario, except he opens up the setting a bit and increases the size of his aggressive creature. These lumbering monsters gave the term “express checkout” a whole new meaning to our characters.

Bait 3D joins a long list of killer shark movies. From Jaws (1975) to Deep Blue Sea (1999) and more recently to Open Water 2: Adrift (2006), there have been many reasons to be afraid of the water. With this latest Australian entry into the genre, fans of thrillers can relax because computer enhanced sharks and false looking tsunamis will create very little fear. Really, Bait simply flounders as the shallow characters and weak storyline massage you into apathy. Speaking of storylines, Bait focuses on the plot devices rather than the characters. There are rogue tidal waves, bank robberies, roaming sharks and the threat of electrocution. But, none of these elements create for an.

Tragedy strikes the waters of a small Australian beach community when a great white shark attacks and kills two people, including lifeguard Rory (Richard Brancatisano). His death tears apart the relationship of his sister Tina (Sharni Vinson) and best friend/fellow lifeguard Josh (The Loved Ones’ Xavier Samuel). One year later, Josh is still haunted by the death of his friend (whom he was seconds away from saving) and laboring at a mindless job as a grocery store employee.
