Warner Bros. Discovery has announced the movies, TV shows, and live sports that will be available on the Max streaming service in April. The Max April 2025 lineup includes new seasons of HBO Original series The Last of Us and The Rehearsal, as well as the Max Original comedy series Hacks.

Apparently, it was Mazin's idea to make Eugene into a fully fleshed-out character, and Druckmann readily agreed. "I get excited when I see these opportunities," he told the outlet. "I'm like, 'Oh, I don't know Eugene that well!' The story we told [in the game] was somewhat superficial. The way this character comes in really gets to the heart of Joel [Pedro Pascal] and Ellie and their relationship."

HBO has finally announced an official premiere date for the second season of The Last of Us, and the acclaimed survival horror video game adaptation is set to return to our screens sooner than expected.

Season 2 will debut on April 13 at 9 p.m. Et/Pt, taking the Sunday marquee time slot from the current third season of The White Lotus.

Max has also released new character posters featuring Ellie (Bella Ramsey), Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Abby (Kaitlyn Dever), along with a new promo still and a pretty vague synopsis.

The seven-episode season of the drama will debut April 13 on HBO. That means the season will complete its run in late May, just under the wire for Emmy eligibility this year.

The premiere will come two years and one month after the finale of The Last of Us‘ first season in March 2023. Season 2 will debut on April 13 at 9 p.m. Et/Pt, which means it’ll be picking up the Sunday marquee time slot from The White Lotus after the third season of Mike White’s series concludes. As always, the episodes will be available to stream on Max at the same time that they air on HBO.
