Children's TV can be easy nostalgia bait for adults reminiscing about the joyful days of childhood. Many children's shows appeal to kids and adults, creating lasting enjoyment for each generation, but some shows aren't so positively reflected upon. Whether harboring an overwhelmingly childish aesthetic, annoying characters, or a particularly juvenile sense of humor, some shows are unlikely to be liked by parents watching with their kids.
Many of these shows have problematic connotations, whether due to outdated storylines or behind-the-scenes drama. There are bound to be a few episodes, especially from older shows that may not have aged well, but some shows consistently portray topics and themes with poor execution, leaving an impact on their legacy and their audience.

The “Screenlife” movie has become a bona fide subgenre here in the horror world, with films including Searching, Missing, and Unfriended paving the way for other movies that uniquely play out their stories entirely on computer screens. Timur Bekmambetov is the producer of all of the above, and he’s launched a new initiative to foster new talents in the screenlife space.
Deadline reports this week that Bekmambetov has created the Black List-style “Screenlifer” platform, which will “identify, support, and promote screenlife content from emerging filmmakers, and give it exposure to both audiences and industry professionals.”
“Projects that meet the platform’s standards will receive a Black List-style mark of distinction, signifying their alumni status, which Bekmambetov believes will enhance their industry credibility,” Deadline adds. “The best concepts will be published on the project’s website.”

Disney Channel has been providing family-friendly entertainment since the '80s. Featuring a variety of cartoons and live-action sitcoms, Disney Channel has crafted lasting content spanning generations. These stories usually center on simple premises, sometimes with a more fantastical twist. Many Disney Channel shows take an insightful look into more everyday problems, creating a relatable atmosphere for kids and families.
While mostly lighthearted and meant solely for entertainment, Disney Channel has attempted to tackle serious issues that aim to catalyze important conversations. Some of these plot lines can draw negative backlash from audiences, particularly parents who feel that children watching these shows should not be exposed to these issues. Some Disney Channel storylines cultivate controversy accidentally as not all handling of sensitive topics comes across as well-constructed.

Did You Know Tara Sutaria Nearly Bagged A Key Role In Disney’s Will Smith-Starrer Aladdin? (Photo Credit – Instagram/Facebook)
Actress Tara Sutaria has been a prominent name in Bollywood for over half a decade. She has won hearts with her talent and versatility and carved her own unique path. However, unlike many of her contemporaries, Sutaria’s career began not with modeling or commercials but with a strong foundation in singing and theater, setting her quite apart from her peers and giving her a solid background before her meteoric rise in the film industry.
Sutaria made her silver screen debut in 2019 with Student of the Year 2, starring alongside Tiger Shroff and fellow debutant Ananya Panday. Collaborators and friends alike are paying tribute to Jeff Baena, the indie filmmaker who died at the age of 47 over the weekend as a result of suicide. Baena, known for rich and darkly comic films like The Little Hours and Life After Beth, both starring his wife and frequent creative partner Aubrey Plaza, was mourned by Alison Brie, Adam Pally, Molly Shannon and many others.
On her Instagram Story, Brie — who worked with Baena on his 2020 Netflix project Horse Girl and the 2022 IFC Films pic Spin Me Round — posted a series of photos of herself and the late writer-director, accompanied by a broken red heart. The pictures ranged from behind-the-scenes photos and photoshoots to the Sundance Film Festival debut of Horse Girl and what appears to be on-location for a film shoot in Italy (both The Little Hours and Spin Me Round shot there). “Rest in peace, my friend,” she added.

While not a lot is known about the plot of American Horror Stories season 4s The Thing Under The Bed, the outings cast can tell viewers a little about its story. American Horror Stories began in 2021. A spinoff from the successful horror anthology series American Horror Story, American Horror Stories offers viewers shorter, standalone horror stories in the vein of classic anthology shows like Tales From The Crypt or Tales from The Dark Side. The series aired a 7-episode season 1 in 2021 and an 8-episode season 2 in 2022 before season 3 was split in 2023.

The second part of American Horror Stories season 3 is now available to stream on Hulu. It is packed with five chilling new episodes. But what’s up with this release format? Is there an episode 10 still ahead? Is this season of AHStories season 3 or considered season 4? Here’s everything we know!
No release schedules are more complicated than those of streaming shows. And there’s so much confusion surrounding this new season of AHS’ spin-off AHStories. For starters, is it season 3 or season 4? Technically, the new episodes are part of season 3. The first half of the third season premiered almost a year ago on Oct. 26, so that’s why fans were not sure.
The first part of season 3 only features four episodes, but really it should have been its own season to avoid confusion. Alas, the five new episodes are considered part of season 3, for a grand total of nine episode.

Jinkies indeed! After two divisive seasons, Max won’t be renewing Mindy Kaling’s adult animated series Velma for another season. The show, starring Kaling as the voice of Velma Dinkley, lasted for two seasons before Max ripped off its mask, revealing a cancelation notice where a mustache-twirling villain’s head should be. American Horror Stories, a streaming series spin-off from FX’s long-running horror anthology series American Horror Story, began with a seven episode first season in 2021, continued with an eight episode second season in 2022, and gave us a four episode third season in 2023. The new season consists of five episodes, and all five will be available to watch on that date. American Horror Stories returns with Henry Winkler, Michael Imperioli, Debby Ryan, Victor Garber and more for when its five-episode season releases for what’s being billed as a Hulaween event.
The series — a spinoff of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk’s award-winning anthology series American Horror Story — features a different horror story in each of its stand-alone episodes.
The minute-and-a-half look at the upcoming installment, premiering Oct. 15 as part of Hulu’s Halloween lineup, teases new takes on classic horror tropes such as “don’t look under the bed,” a scary figure appearing in the mirror and a woman appearing in an empty parking lot late at night.
“When she dreams, things happen,” a nurse tells Ryan’s character. “What kind of things?” she replies, before a scene plays of her in bed with a man who is pulled under the bed.

Scooby-Doo is as popular as ever well, we wont talk about Velma and while there are several animated and live-action projects currently in development for both Max and Netflix, the bizarre world of AI-generated movie trailers has beaten them to the punch to deliver a star-studded what if concept trailer for a new live-action movie.
The trailer, which is narrated by an AI version of Shaggy, brings together some intriguing - and some odd casting choices to develop a new Mystery Inc. team. Starting from the top, we have the voice of Scooby-Doo being listed as Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds, and the role of Shaggy going to pop-star-turned-actor Harry Styles. The rest of the gang comprises of Zac Efron as a very youthful looking Fred, Sydney Sweeney (hilariously credited as Sweeney Sydney in the trailer) as Daphne, and Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown in an unlikely casting as Velma.

Velma is heading back to Max with a surprise Halloween special this October. The Mindy Kaling-created Scooby-Doo reimagining has failed to connect with audiences and critics across its two seasons so far, but it seems that you cant keep a heavily criticized show down, so on October 3, Max will play host to Velma: This Halloween Needs To Be More Special!
While it seemed that Velma had come to the end of the road when the character was killed off at the end of Season 2, that is not the case at all, and now it appears that Velmas spirit and the gang have a chance to bring her back to life which would suggest that someone is genuinely planning on Season 3 becoming reality. The synopsis for the special reads:
With just 24 hours to bring Velma back, the friends search for a dark spellbook while trying to avoid the wrath of a vengeful spirit.

Velma viewers continue to rally against the show's disrespectful take on the original IP, with Scrappy-Doo returning in a surprising twist. Despite the hate, Velma's Season 2 episodes rated slightly higher on IMDb, with Scrappy playing a major antagonist role in the plot. Viewers rejoiced at Velma's apparent death as Scrappy's return causes an unexpected turn of events in the series.
Velma, everyone's favorite Scooby-Doo show without Scooby-Doo, recently premiered its second season on Max. Any hope that the Mindy Kaling-fronted show would improve its audience reception in its second outing was quickly shot down, as the fans' ire at Velma's seemingly disrespectful take on the original IP showed no signs of waning. To be fair, some episodes of Season 2 were actually rated higher than Season 1 on IMDb, with the top episode score reaching 3.3 out of 10 stars. That's progress!
