Ever since the release of Prime Video’s latest video game adaptation series titled Fallout, people have started to show interest in the lead star Ella Purnell and her life outside the show. Over three hours worth of newly-unearthed Frank Zappa receives an official release as a compilation called Funky Nothingness. Available as of today, the music is believed to have been intended for a sequel to Hot Rats, the avant-garde rocker’s 1969 solo debut.

Freshly dug out from the Zappa vault, Funky Nothingness will include 25 unreleased and rare tracks, as well as compositions, covers, and miscellaneous jams from 1970 studio sessions with Zappa’s core group: Aynsley Dunbar, Don “Sugarcane” Harris, Ian Underwood, and Max Bennett.

“Funky Nothingness delivers on all fronts, showcasing Zappa’s love for rhythm and blues, picking up where Hot Rats left off with extended instrumental workouts fusing rock, jazz, and classical elements into music that can only be described as Zappa,” reads a statement from “Zappa vaultmeister” Joe Travers, who also compiled the collection along with Zappa’s son Ahmet Zappa.

U.K. broadcaster Channel 4 has released a first look image of its new comedy series, “Big Mood” (working title), produced by Fremantle‘s Dancing Ledge Productions. The six-part series explores the intricacies of female friendship when confronted with the complexities of serious mental illness.

The late Frank Zappa’s “vaultmeister” has unearthed 23 previously unreleased and rare recordings that Zappa may have been considering for a sequel to his beloved jazz-rock masterpiece, 1969’s Hot Rats.

The apocrypha, which totals three-and-a-half hours of music, will finally come out on June 30 via a three-disc set titled Funky Nothingness.

Zappa’s estate is previewing the set with Zappa’s interpretations of two songs from 1954 by Hank Ballard and the Midnighters, “Work With Me Annie/Annie Had a Baby,” with violinist Don “Sugarcane” Harris singing lead:

Both Algar and Bailey-Bond were Screen Stars Of Tomorrow in 2018.

Irish actress Niamh Algar has signed to star in Prano Bailey-Bond’s debut feature Censor which has begun shooting in Leeds.

Both Algar, who recently co-starred alongside Stephen Graham in Shane Meadows’ Channel 4 drama The Virtues, and Bailey-Bond, were Screen Stars Of Tomorrow in 2018.

The film is about a censor who starts to lose her grasp on reality after watching a 1980s video nasty. It is produced by London-based Silver Salt Films, which was set up by Helen Jones and Naomi Wright in 2015.

Protagonist Pictures is handling worldwide sales.

TNT has released the teaser trailer for the drama “Will,” which tells the wild, rowdy story of young William Shakespeare. The 32-second clip first aired during the SAG Awards on Sunday.

Newcomer Laurie Davidson plays the title role in this period drama told in a bold, contemporary style and played to a modern soundtrack that exposes all of Shakespeare’s recklessness, lustful temptations and tortured brilliance. With vinyl being a hot music commodity and back in vogue, it would seem inevitable that one of the music giants of the vinyl era would get remastered and re-released. Frank Zappa remains one of the those musical geniuses where his impact was missed by a deservedly larger fanbase while he roamed planet Earth. With a must-see documentary -- Eat That Question: Frank Zappa In His Own Words (Sony Pictures Classic) -- currently in theaters and on demand, hopefully some of his genius will be discovered by a new generation of fans. Certainly the above-titled masterpiece Hot Rats, reissued by Zappa Records in August on 180gram vinyl cut directly from the original analog master tapes by Bernie Grundman, remains one of his cornerstone releases in his immense and musically varied catalog.

Sadie Frost, Noel Fielding and Sally Phillips star in twisted comedy.

Dark comedy Set The Thames On Fire has set a UK theatrical release date of September 16 and will be available on digital platforms from September 19.

The film, directed by Ben Charles Edwards, has a cast that includes Sadie Frost (Absolutely Fabulous: The Movie), Noel Fielding (The Mighty Boosh), Sally Phillips (I’m Alan Partridge) and Morgana Robinson (The Windsors).

Set the Thames on Fire follows struggling piano player Art (Michael Winder) and compulsive liar Sal (Max Bennett) as they embark on a string of ludicrous escapades through a dystopian London, ruled over by a grotesque and tyrannical Impresario.

On their adventures they encounter a deranged Magician, played by performance artist David Hoyle, an anarchist witch (Phillips) and the Impresario’s twisted right-hand man (Fielding) leading to a final showdown with the despotic ruler himself.

With Morse back at work after the dramatic events of the series three opener, it’s business as usual for Oxford’s sharpest detective. When artist Simon Hallward is killed in a terrible fire at his flat, the police initially assume that his death is nothing more than an accident. However, Morse’s attention is drawn to a Teasmaid next to the dead man’s bed that appears to have been the seat of the fire. Further investigation reveals that Hallward was responsible for poisoning food supplied to local supermarket, Richardson’s. Johnny Depp gave several kids in hospital the ultimate surprise when he turned up as Captain Jack Sparrow this week.

The Hollywood star took a break from filming Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales in Australia, and visited the Lady Cilento Children's Hospital on Tuesday (July 7), wearing his full Sparrow outfit and make-up.

Depp spent three hours with the kids, along with co-star Stephen Graham as shipmate Scrum.

7-year-old Max Bennett - who has transverse myelitis, a rare neurological disorder - was one of the children to hang out with Depp. His mother Rachel told Australia's ABC News that the actor "was going from room to room seeing all the kids who couldn't get out of bed".
