Paul Hardart is an American media executive and film producer who served as Senior Vice President of Universal Pictures, where he founded and ran the studio's specialty label, Universal Focus. Hardart served as head of Universal Focus from 1998 to 2002, when the division was folded into Focus Features. While at Universal Focus, he oversaw films like Being John Malkovich (1999), Pitch Black (2000), Nurse Betty (2000), Billy Elliot (2000), and Mulholland Drive (2001). Prior to running Universal Focus, Hardart oversaw strategic planning for Universal Pictures, which included launching new businesses and helping shape the studio's long-term strategy, and held senior positions at Warner Brothers and Turner Broadcasting.
