The cast has been revealed for Lake Vernon, a new psychological thriller movie that's in the works. Among the cast members is Tommy Wiseau, the eccentric filmmaker and actor best known for his unforgettable performance in the 2003 movie The Room.

Per Variety, Lake Vernon will feature Wiseau as part of the ensemble cast, joined by former NFL star Vernon Davis (The Ritual Killer), Malcolm Goodwin (Reacher), David Anders (The Vampire Diaries), Olivia Grace Applegate (Love and Death), and Andrea Sixtos (Arrow). The cast members are currently filming the movie in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Lake Vernon comes form a story by Davis and Tiffany Toney, while director Aaron Jay Rome (End Trip) co-wrote the screenplay with Isaiah Laborde. Davis is also serving as a producer on the project for Real 85 Productions, joined by Rome and Laborde. Additionally, Davis is also executive producing. Oscar-winning editor Scott Conrad (Rocky) will edit the movie.

Filming is underway in Louisiana on the new psychological horror movie Lake Vernon, and Variety has announced the cast this morning.

Former NFL star turned filmmaker Vernon Davis (The Ritual Killer) produces and stars in the film alongside Malcolm Goodwin (“Reacher”), David Anders (“The Vampire Diaries”), Olivia Grace Applegate (“Love and Death”), Andrea Sixtos (“Arrow”) and Tommy Wiseau (Big Shark).

Not only does Davis star and produce, but Lake Vernon is adapted from a story by Davis and Tiffany Toney. The story was adapted for the screen by director Aaron Jay Rome and writer/producer Isaiah Laborde.

In the film, “Old wounds resurface when a fractured group of friends reunites for a weekend retreat at an exclusive lakeside sanctuary,” the film’s official logline reads. “As buried tensions and unspoken betrayals bubble to the surface, the lake itself seems to be listening — watching — offering impossible miracles at a cost none of them understand.

The Ritual Killer is one of the latest thrillers that was released in 2023. The film is another film discussing a chase for a dangerous serial killer and showing us what he is capable of. While the film had an interesting trailer that made people hope that they would get to see an exciting new film, The Ritual Killer turned out to be quite disappointing.

Despite having the great Morgan Freeman in one of the lead roles, the film wasn't inspiring nor did it receive a lot of praise as one would expect. The only positive thing about it would probably be its somewhat confusing ending which did have a plot twist that saved some of the film’s reputation. Excited for the cinematic journey, I looked forward to discovering the characters of Randoku and Mackles and delving into the ritualistic killings, cultural clashes, and the battle between darkness and morality. Unfortunately, the execution fell short. The film struggled to turn its concept into a coherent narrative. Some plot twists and developments felt illogical, diluting the suspense and leaving the viewers unsatisfied. Despite having strong characters, their depth wasn’t fully realized. The experience made me wish for a more logically paced and thought-provoking story, showing that a promising premise alone isn’t enough—skillful storytelling is crucial for cinematic satisfaction.

Randoku (played by Vernon Davis), the eponymous ritual killer is a complex and disturbing character that plays a central role in the plot of the movie.

Director George Gallo then endeavored to bring their work to the screen as a film that really feels like it wants to live up to classic, gritty serial killer crime thrillers of the past. The movie is helmed by Hellraiser III: Hell on Earth fame Anthony Hickox, who also penned down the screenplay. The film will follow four mercenaries who find a hidden treasure in the Congo and decide to bury it and to meet back at the same spot in three years to split the fortune evenly. However, things don’t go as planned and take a different turn. Along with Van Damme, the movie also features NFL star-turned-actor Vernon Davis, Rafael Amaya, and Madalina Anea.

Jean-Claude Van Damme is going to the Congo but not to hunt the Gray Gorillas. The mega-pliable action star is joining the cast of Silent Kill, an upcoming action film directed and written by Anthony Hickox. According to Deadline, Silent Kill follows four mercenaries searching the Congo for hidden treasure. After finding the goods, the group buries the treasure and agrees to return three years later to split the winnings. As you can imagine, the plan goes awry.

Exclusive: Action icon Jean-Claude Van Damme (Kickboxer) is set to star in action feature Silent Kill, which Iervolino & Lady Bacardi Entertainment will be introducing to buyers at this week’s American Film Market.

Anthony Hickox (Hellraiser III) wrote the screenplay and will direct the film, which will follow four mercenaries who find a hidden treasure in the Congo. They bury it and agree to meet back at the same spot in three years and split the fortune evenly, but things take a different turn.

Starring alongside Van Damme will be NFL star-turned-actor Vernon Davis (Gasoline Alley), Rafael Amaya (The Lord of Skies) and Madalina Anea (Watcher).

Van Damme and Joram Moreka are producing the film. Executive producers are Andrea Iervolino, Monika Bacardi, Ovidiu Toma and Bradly Gentz. Principal photography is due to commence in early Q1, 2023.

“The Challenge: Untold History,” a six-part series, will feature more than 30 legendary competitors as well as many famous fans including Kim Kardashian, Vernon Davis and Lindsey Jacobellis.
