Channel 5 will examine a school for children with behavioural problems in a new two-part documentary.
Too Tough To Teach? will focus on the children and teachers at Ian Mikardo School in East London, which is home to pupils who have been permanently excluded and are at risk of ending up in prison.
Head teacher Claire Lillis - who arrived at the school 11 years ago after a period when it had four heads in nine months - will feature in the show as it examines the success of her "unconventional methods".
The show will examine how conflicts are resolved by talking, how the boys are taught lessons such as hair and beauty to challenge their ideas of masculinity and the bedsit at the school which is used to teach the students skills such as cookery and housework.
