All roads lead to the One Chicago crossover. The franchise is staging its first three part storyline since 2019, which will bring together the casts of Chicago Fire, Chicago Med and Chicago Pd for a major disaster. One character who is already on the brink of disaster, though, is Cruz (Joe Minoso).
Joe Cruz's last couple episodes have been, well, messy. The character was coerced into committing a robbery, stealing firehouse equipment and was even present for a shootout. He was shot amidst all the commotion, and will be forced to come up with an alibi.

James McTeigue made an explosive directorial debut with the critically acclaimed V for Vendetta in 2005, and has since added five more movies to his resume. His last cinematic project was Breaking In, a home invasion thriller starring Gabrielle Union, released in 2018. Despite receiving mixed reviews initially, the movie managed to cultivate a modest fan following, thanks largely to Union’s powerful performance. Breaking In has recently become a free streaming hit, ranking #4 on Freevee.
Breaking In centers around Shaun Russell (Union), a mother who travels with her two children to her late father Isaac’s secluded mansion, with high-tech security features. She must make the final arrangements to sell the estate.

Chicago Fire, just like the rest of the One Chicago universe, has returned from its midseason break. For the firefighting procedural drama, the show returned with one big issue for one of its key figures. Joe Cruz (Joe Miñoso) begins to seek some understanding behind the bullet-shaped pendant urn he found in his locker. In Season 1 of Chicago Fire, Cruz decided to let gang leader Flaco (José Antonio García) die in a fire in order to protect his brother Leon (Jeff Lima). However, what he thought was buried resurfaced with Flaco’s cousin, Junior (Richard Cabral), coming out of prison. By the time the winter premiere had ended, Junior had passed, and Cruz's secret seemingly went buried once more, albeit in a tricky state. But how long can Cruz keep his secret from his friend, Severide (Taylor Kinney)?...

Warning: Spoilers ahead for Chicago Fire season 13, episode 9, "A Favor."Chicago Fire season 13, episode 9, "A Favor," left Joe Cruz's (Joe Miñoso) future fate up in the air, leading to speculation that Cruz may be leaving the firefighter-centric series. Cruz's dilemma began in the fall finale when Junior Polanco (Richard Cabral) confronted him. Polanco was the cousin of a gang member who died in a fire back in season 1, and one thing to remember about the Chicago Fire fall finale was that Polanco left bullet casings in the firehouse as part of his revenge plan.
"A Favor" includes an intense sequence of events that prove that Chicago Fire is the best One Chicago show. In order to avoid Severide investigating what happened with that long ago fire, Cruz reluctantly goes along with Polanco's plan to rob Firehouse 51, but tries to back out halfway through — which Polanco won't allow him to do.

Chicago Fire really dropped a bomb on viewers with its season 13 winter premiere. The episode largely revolved around Joe Cruz (Joe Minoso) and the messy situation he was pulled into with ex convict Junior Polanco (Richard Cabral).
The episode took an absolutely devastating turn in its final moments, as Joe Cruz was pulled into a shootout involving Junior and another ex con. The firefighter was shot in the arm, and while he was able to escape with his life, he was not in good shape. He broke down in tears, and the episode closed out. And we mean closed out. Chicago Fire did not even air a promo teasing the resolution of Cruz's story next week.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Chicago Fire Season 13 Episode 9 “A Favor.”] Chicago Fire‘s deep cut — bringing back a Season 1 storyline — is leaving Cruz (Joe Minoso) in quite the position. Back in those early days of the NBC drama, Cruz left gang leader Flaco (José Antonio García) to die in a fire; he did it to protect his brother Leon (Jeff Lima). Flaco’s cousin, Junior (Richard Cabral), however, knows what he did and leverages it to force Cruz to help him get money back from the person who stole it, Moreno. But that goes sideways: Junior is killed, Moreno flees, and Cruz, with a gunshot wound to his arm, quickly gets out of there. Below, Minoso teases what’s next for Cruz in the aftermath — including trying to keep it a secret from Severide (Taylor Kinney). It seems like Junior being dead is the best-case scenario for Cruz in a way. Joe Minoso: Yeah,...

Chicago Fire has a lot of story to play with. The show has been on NBC for 13 seasons, and cycled through so many subplots and characters that it's anybody's guess where the writers will take things next. Case in point: the fall finale's decision to bring back a storyline from season one as a means of testing poor Joe Cruz (Joe Minoso).
The winter premiere, "A Favor," was destined to be a Cruz affair from the moment the midseason finale wrapped up. The character was confronted by Junior Polanco (Richard Cabral), the cousin of the late Insane Kings gang leader Flaco (Jose Antonio Garcia). Flaco tried to force Cruz's brother to remain a member of the gang, and Cruz responded by letting Flaco die in a building fire.
The problem is, Junior witnessed this less-than-moral act. He has dirt on Cruz, who is now married with two children, and he intends to use it.

Back in Season 1 on Chicago Fire, Joe Cruz (Joe Minoso) made a tough decision, and the NBC drama has done something we love so much and brought that back to haunt him in a major way in Season 13. It was back in Season 1 that Cruz left gang leader Flaco (José Antonio García) to die in a fire, to protect his brother Leon (Jeff Lima). In the midseason finale, Cruz found a pendant urn (shaped like a bullet! with cremated remains inside!), and his brother returned to warn him that Flaco’s cousin, Junior (Richard Cabral), is out of prison. We wanted to do something a little different this year, though, which is highlight the first Chicago Fire Christmas episode.
The episode in question is called "Merry Christmas, Etc." and it aired halfway through season 1. The episode is fun to watch as a time capsule, as beloved characters like Peter Mills (Charlie Barnett) and Gabriela Dawson (Monica Raymund) are long gone. "Merry Christmas, Etc." also provides glimpses of those who have passed, like Otis (Yuri Sardarov) and Leslie Shay (Lauren German).

Joe Cruz (Joe Minoso) is a solid guy. He's always trying to do his best to protect victims during fires, and his peers during dangerous rescue missions. He's one of the most beloved Chicago Fire veterans as a result. The thing is, Cruz is not a boy scout. Joe Cruz (Joe Minoso) was the unexpected star of Chicago Fire's fall finale. The character took center stage with a subplot that involved his younger brother and the relative of a gang member he failed to save during season 1.
It's been a long time since fans have gotten to see Joe Cruz's brother, Leon (Jeff Lima). He was a consistent presence throughout season 1, but he has only made sporadic appearances since then. The history of Hollywood adapting video games in movies and TV shows has been a little spotty, to say the least, but in recent years, I think the tide has been turning. With shows like The Last of Us and Fallout, video game fans have developed a little hope to see their favorite adapted into a great piece of art and while there will still be wasted efforts like Netflix’s The Witcher and Paramount+’s Halo, they are still only two shows. So, in keeping with that spirit of hope we created a list of the 10 best TV shows that were adapted from video games, they can be original stories in the world of video games but they have to be connected to the original IP.

“I want to give the fans what they want, just not the way they think they want it,” declares “Twisted Metal” co-creator and showrunner Michael Jonathan Smith about all of the pressures and expectations that are inherent in adapting a beloved video game. For our recent webchat he adds, “It’s a tough challenge, especially with the video game community, who are extremely outspoken. I made jokes before the show came out that I hope I don’t get doxxed,” he laughs. “The one benefit of ‘Twisted Metal,’ being a fan of the games, is that they always changed every iteration, like no two iterations were the same, so that kind of gave us a license, so to speak, to change it up a little bit, and that’s how I approached it. We have these characters Sweet Tooth, John Doe and Calypso. How would these characters exist in this...

Johnny "Coco" Cruz, an exciting character on Mayans M.C., left the show in season 4. Richard Cabral, the actor who played Coco, left for a role in the TV series Twisted Metal. Coco's story was cut short, as he had just overcome addiction and found a real relationship and family.
Johnny "Coco" Cruz (Richard Cabral) was an exciting character on the Sons of Anarchy spinoff, so why did Coco leave Mayans M.C.? Mayans M.C. premiered in 2018, four years after the violent finale of Sons of Anarchy. The Mayans Motorcycle Club was a frequent presence in the original series and there are plenty of characters who appear in both Mayans M.C. and Sons of Anarchy. The spin-off takes place in Santo Padre, where the US-Mexico border is a focal point. Ezekiel "Ez" Reyes (J.D. Pardo) runs the Hispanic gang that deals in heroin and prostitution.

The Twisted Metal series’ creative team addressed the difficulty of adapting Axel into live-action for potential future seasons.
Axel is one of the most popular Twisted Metal characters from the video game series due to his unique vehicle. He is strapped between two large tractor wheels which leaves him in a Vitruvian Man-like pose. Speaking with Screen Rant, Twisted Metal’s costume designer Liz Vastola and composers Zach Robinson and Leo Birenberg were asked about the possibility of Axel’s appearance in the Peacock series. Vastola admitted she currently doesn’t know how they would pull off Axel’s live-action debut. "I think everybody's curious to know how we’d realize Axel and what that would look like," Vastola said. "I just want to know what that would potentially be."

The car combat-oriented comedy series is Peacock’s “most-binged” comedy premiere, with the average account watching roughly three episodes per sitting, with some opting to knock the entire season out in one glorious shot. It’s one thing to step into the ring with Samoa Joe, but to confront him while he’s dressed as a clown in an ice cream truck? No thanks. Apparently, that’s pretty much how a lot of his Twisted Metal co-stars felt, as Samoa Joe has said the sheer look of Sweet Tooth put the fear right into them.

For actress Stephanie Beatriz, originating a new character for Peacock’s live-action adaptation of the PlayStation video game “Twisted Metal” — one who doesn’t utter a word in the series premiere — presented a unique and irresistible challenge.
“I love original storytelling,” she told TheWrap. “I think that’s what drew me to these scripts because my character is not even in the games. It’s a fully new character, fully new backstory, fully new world.
“The world opens up more and more every episode,” she added. “It’s in a way limitless.”
Beatriz plays Quiet, a badass axe-wielding car thief that acts purely on instinct. She comes from a community that oppressed her into silence and goes on to form an unlikely, antagonistic bond with John Doe (Anthony Mackie) as she becomes clouded by her need for revenge.

The video game phenomenon Twisted Metal is getting the live-action treatment with Peacock's upcoming series, and Will Arnett brings something different to the table with his performance as the killer clown Sweet Tooth.
In the Twisted Metal series, Will Arnett provides the voice of Sweet Tooth while Aew's Samoa Joe portrays the iconic character. Speaking with /Film about the series before the start of the SAG-AFTRA strike, Arnett was asked about what's different with his Sweet Tooth compared to other evil clowns in pop culture, such as Pennywise from Stephen King's It. Arnett explains how Sweet Tooth is "above board" with how he terrifies people, but he's also notably much "funnier" than other killer clowns in movies and TV.

"I don't know. Pennywise seems really scary in a way that haunts your dreams," Arnett explained.

Will Arnett has voiced a number of characters including a German sous chef (in Ratatouille), Batman (in the Lego franchise), and a humanoid horse (in BoJack Horsemen), but the actor says that voicing Sweet Tooth for Peacock's upcoming Twisted Metal presented a "real challenge." In conversation (pre-SAG-AFTRA strike) with Slash Film, Arnett opened up about voicing the killer clown, who is portrayed on screen by wrestler Samoa Joe. Voicing characters, Arnett says, removes the "benefit of expressing yourself in a visual way," which requires "a lot more thought." For Twisted Metal, Arnett relied on watching Samoa Joe's on-screen execution of the character to help bring the character's voice to life:
"I mean, when we were shooting, I was watching dailies and seeing what's going on and as he's working through it. Like you said, he's the physical embodiment of this character. He's out there and he is doing...

Playstation's classic vehicular combat game gets a bloody, action-packed, and hilarious television adaption with a stellar lead performance from Anthony Mackie. Peacock's Twisted Metal follows the adventures of a wise-cracking, smart-ass "milkman" through post-apocalyptic America as he tries to deliver a secret package. Five minutes into Peacock’s new horror comedy series “Twisted Metal,” it’s evident that the main character of John Doe – an amnesiac driver transporting goods across a war-torn nation – was written more as a vehicle for Anthony Mackie than for the gamers that sustained the original Sony Playstation franchise that inspired it.
Originally a wildly popular 1995 vehicular combat battle game, “Twisted Metal” has had over ten iterations and is the longest-running original title on the platform. The Peacock series is a live-action comedic adaptation created by Rhett Reese & Paul Wernick and written by Michael Jonathan Smith (“Cobra Kai”).
Those looking for a faithful video game adaptation should hold their applause until the end. Unlike recent shows like “The Last of Us” or “Halo,” the source material for this show is too convoluted to be adapted directly. However, those looking for sequences of vehicular-related carnage should be pleased.
