A gunman opened fire at a campaign truck carrying Imran Khan, wounding him in both his legs. The gunman was arrested at the scene and no group has claimed responsibility for the shooting.

Bollywood actors Vijay Deverakonda and Ananya Panday relived the India-Pakistan rivalry in the big tournaments ahead of the blockbuster Asia Cup clash which is slated to take place on Sunday.

India will face Pakistan for the second time in the ongoing Asia Cup 2022 as the two teams begin their Super-four round campaign.

The first season of the league was played in January this year in Muscat, Oman between three teams – India Maharajas, World Giants and Asia Lions – and comprised seven games. However, season 2 will have four franchise owned teams. There will be 15 matches, which will be played in six cities — Kolkata, Lucknow, Delhi, Jodhpur, Cuttack and Rajkot from September 17 to October 8.

New Delhi, May 16 (Ians) Former India cricketer Robin Uthappa has said that retired Pakistani express bowler Shoaib Akhtar had threatened him with a "deadly beamer" during the 2007 One-day International series.

Recalling the incident, which happened ahead of the fourth Odi in Gwalior in November, Uthappa said that Akhtar met him during dinner on the eve of the match.

"I remember we all were having dinner together. Shoaib bhai was there as well. He came to me and said 'Robin, well played [in the first Odi in Guwahati]. Good game'. And then he said, 'one more thing: you walked out and hit me. If you do that again, even I don't know what will happen. You might get a beamer directed at your head'. After that, I didn't even dare walk out to him," Uthappa told YouTube channel 'Wake Up With Sorabh' on Sunday.

Uthappa recollected the sequence of events that led Akhtar to issue the warning.

New Delhi, March 29 (Ians) Seventeen years ago this day, swashbuckling batsman Virender Sehwag provided millions of his fans plenty to rejoice as he hammered India's first ever triple Test century in Multan -- and went on to score another triple and missed a third one by a whisker.

Playing only in his 21st Test match, Sehwag, then aged 25 years and 160 days, achieved the feat on the second day of the first Test of the series against Pakistan. He ended the first day of the match at 228 not out and soon after lunch interval on the second day, he stepped out to off-spinner Saqlain Mushtaq and lifted him over the long on boundary for a six to complete the triple in fabulous style.

New Delhi, Dec 18 (Ians) Following Mohammed Amir's retirement, Shoaib Akhtar has claimed that he too wasn't treated well by the Pakistan Cricket Board (Pcb) management during the 2011 World Cup when he was about to bid adieu to the game.

Amir on Thursday announced his retirement from international cricket, alleging he was "mentally tortured" and that he cannot play under current Pcb management.

Following Amir's retirement, Akhtar posted a video on his YouTube channel and said the 28-year-old should have dealt with the Pcb management by performing well in cricket and not by escaping.
