He is the first and only person to free solo El Capitan in Yosemite National Park.

He is sponsored by The North Face, and almost exclusively wears their clothing. He even wore a North Face tuxedo to The Oscars (2019).

Spent nearly a decade living out of a van. He purchased a home in the Las Vegas area in 2017, but still lives in his van nine months out of they year.

His mother is of Polish descent.
