Alana Dietze is an award-winning director, actor and active member of the LA theater community. Notable work includes Nora in Dido of Idaho (Echo Theater Company, LADCC Nomination for Lead Performance), Charlotte Stay Close (EST-LA, Ovation Nomination for Ensemble), Gloria (Echo, Stage Raw Award for Comedy Ensemble), Everything Will Be Different (Echo, Ovation Nomination for Leading Actress) and the immersive/site-specific shows The Shape of the Night (AOTW) and The Recital (Monkspace). She is a company member of the Echo Theater Company (where she also previously served as Literary Manager and Associate Artistic Director) and public assembly, a company dedicated to reinventing community theater in Los Angeles.
Notable directing work (all with the Echo) includes Crabs in a Bucket (2 LADCC Awards), Poor Clare (8 LADCC Awards including Production and Direction), The Wolves (LADCC Award for Ensemble), Dry Land (Ovation Winner for Production - Intimate Theater). Dry Land was remounted at the Kirk Douglas Theatre as part of CTG's inaugural Block Party program. Alana also regularly works as a guest director in academic institutions including UCLA, USC, Occidental College and CSULB.
