It’s confirmed that Split Fiction is getting a movie adaptation. While the cast isn’t officially confirmed yet, one casting decision already seems destined: Florence Pugh as Zoe. However, the question now is: Who will step into the shoes of Mio? If we had a say, Jessica Henwick would be the perfect choice for the role.

In 1983, several actresses filmed scenes as star pilots in the Battle of Endor for Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi. However, they did not make it into the final cut of the film or dubbed over as men. Since then, though, there have been many female star pilots in both the Star Wars films and series.
In 1999, George Lucas rectified the omission 16 years later in The Phantom Menace. British actress Celia Imrie portrayed Naboo starfighter Dinee Ellberger. The character assisted the Jedi and Naboo's liberation of the planet against the Trade Federation.
With the exception of Solo: A Star Wars Story, the four other films released under Disney have featured female star pilots. In The Force Awakens, Jessica Henwick portrayed X-Wing pilot Jessika Pava. Henwick was a finalist for the role of Rey and won over director J.J. Abrams to give her a role in the film.

Daredevil: Born Againmarks the beginning of a new era for the Marvel Cinematic Universe as it redoubles its effort to represent the street-level side of its expansive franchise. The new Disney+ series is a continuation of Netflix's Daredevil, which kicked off what later became known as "The Defenders Saga." Separated from but still taking place within the larger MCU, the Defenders Saga consisted of multiple TV-ma series starring ground-level superheroes like Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, and the Punisher. While these characters all operated separately, several came together for an epic crossover miniseries, The Defenders, in 2017.
The Defenders was the culmination of the Defenders Saga, bringing together the franchise's main heroes for a massive battle that none of them could have won on their own.

As Marvel Studios expands its cinematic universe, characters remanded to the shadows continue to emerge for new adventures. March 4th marks the return of Charlie Cox’s Matt Murdock for the mature-rated Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again, with Vincent D’Onofrio’s Kingpin and Jon Bernthal’s Frank Castle, aka The Punisher, bringing blood and violence to the MCU. While Daredevil is primed and ready for a comeback, other members of The Defenders – Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter), and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) – could return for more superhero drama.

The 2000s and early 2010s were marked with a boon of young adult books getting adapted into the big screen. This could really be seen as starting with the runaway success of 2001's "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" adaptation and its subsequent sequels. However, 2008's "Twilight" movie took things to another level, prompting studios to adapt pretty much any book that preteens were obsessed with. Some of these failed to launch, while others became cemented into the public consciousness, like "Twilight" and "The Hunger Games." but "The Maze Runner" series absolutely belongs in that latter category too.
Out of all the films to come out during the YA craze, "The Maze Runner" had the biggest bang for its buck, grossing $348 million against a relatively paltry $34 million budget. Two film sequels followed with "The Scorch Trials" and "The Death Cure," but it all began with that first story about a...

For the most part, Game of Thrones can confidently be called an accurate adaptation of a classic work. Character intentions were fleshed out well, and several parts of the story were executed to perfection. However, when the conversation turns to more inaccurate parts of its story, things quickly turn to passionate hate.

Be it the inexcusable ending that the series had or certain characters that had a lot of expectations riding on them, the series is in no way perfect. One of the most frustratingly annoying plot points in the series is the Sand Snakes.
Being evidently two-dimensional, these characters lost all their complexity in their journey from page to screen. However, Nymeria Sand actress Jessica Henwick seems to have an explanation for this misdemeanor, and it is quite interesting.

Timo Tjahjanto, the director behind one of the biggest and best action movie hits on Netflix last year, The Shadow Strays, will reportedly reunite with action icon and The Night Comes for Us star Iko Uwais for the perfect new project. According to a now suspiciously removed report from THR, Tjahjanto and The Raid’s Iko Uwais will reunite for an adaptation of the neo-noir cyberpunk RPG Neon Blood, with the pitch for the movie promising “a bone-crunching kick to the face.” For action fans, this kick can’t land quickly enough.

Dark Nuns eschews simplicity and tired horror genre tropes in a meticulously crafted exorcism thriller that takes its subject matter seriously. A sequel of sorts to the 2015 South Korean film The Priests, director Kwon Hyeok-jaeintroduces a pair of diametrically different female protagonists destined to battle a terrifying demon while confronting skepticism, misogyny, and their own personal misgivings. They must learn to trust each other and their faith in a race against time with a boy's precious life at stake.
Sister Junia (Song Hye-kyo) arrives at a dilapidated warehouse on a dark and foreboding night. She calmly smokes a cigarette as blood-curdling screams pierce the air. Several priests struggle to hold down a writhing and cursing child. Their incantations have no effect as the demon unleashes his evil power. Junia fearlessly enters the room and pours a bucket of holy water over the boy while screaming for the beast to release him.

Editor's Note: Spoilers ahead for Silo Season 2.Silo Season 2's epilogue scene gave us the first hints about how the world might have ended, but that is not even the most shocking thing about that scene. As Congressman Daniel (Ashley Zukerman) realizes his meeting with journalist Helen (Jessica Henwick) isn't really a date, he gifts her with a Pez dispenser before he leaves. The very same Pez dispenser that has been making its way around Silo 18. The duck is a nod to Helen's alma mater, the University of Oregon, but why is it that the dispenser has become such an important relic more than three centuries after Daniel and Helen's meeting?...

Editor's Note: Spoilers below for Silo Season 2 and details from the books by Hugh HoweySilo Season 2 wraps up with an epilogue scene that starts to build towards an answer to the mystery of the silos' existence. Surprisingly, though, the epilogue takes place much earlier, in days not unlike ours, in Washington, DC, as Georgia congressman Daniel (Ashley Zukerman) and journalist Helen (Jessica Henwick) talk about what is happening in the world. There's talk of bombs, radioactivity, Iran, and the possibility of a counterattack, but they never go into detail about what happened. Is this all there is to it?...

Silo wrapped its second season on Apple TV+ last week, and it left us with a whole lot of questions. Over the course of its second season, the science fiction series starring Rebecca Ferguson gradually peeled back more and more layers; by the end, we were just starting to learn more about the people who are pulling the strings on the entire silo project. The rest of those details await in season 3, which will dive into material from Shift, the second book in Hugh Howey's book trilogy.
Silo gave us a pretty wild glimpse of what's to come at the end of season 2, with a flashback into the distant past featuring a freshman congressman named Donald (Ashley Zukerman) and a reporter named Helen (Jessica Henwick). They were meeting in a bar in Washington D.C., which is the first time we've ever truly gotten a glimpse at the world...

Silo showrunner Graham Yost underlines the importance of that Pez dispenser. The closing minutes of the Silo season 2 finale introduces a U.S. congressman (played by Succession's Ashley Zuckerman) on a date with a journalist named Helen (Iron Fist alum Jessica Henwick). Things seem to be going well until the journalist asks the politician whether the U.S. plans to bomb Iran, perhaps pointing to how the silos were created and why. The congressman exits, leaving her with a duck Pez dispenser. It's a reference to the University of Oregon, which Helen attended, and its Duck mascot.

On the day that Apple TV+ drops the season 2 finale of its dystopian drama series, Silo, we’re hearing that Jessica Henwick and Ashley Zuckerman are joining the cast of the show’s third season as series regulars. Jessica Henwick plays Helen, a whip-smart reporter, while Ashley Zuckerman plays Daniel, a young and eager congressman in Silo season 3.
While I understand Zuckerman’s role, I’m curious how Henwick’s Helen influences the show’s events. People in positions of authority don’t last long in Silo, so I get the need to have more players enter that arena. Still, a reporter role is interesting, given that I’m uncertain of how news travels in Silo. Does Helen manage a widely distributed newspaper? Does she give “Runners,” essentially the postmen of the Silo, pamphlets to share with the different levels? We’ll need to wait and see.

Following that jaw-dropping twist ending to Season 2, the pair of actors who shocked the world with their appearance in the series — Ashley Zukerman and Jessica Henwick — will both be joining the cast on a full-time basis for Season 3, which hints that we're going to see a lot more of the origin of those silos.

After the twisty finale for season two of Silo, Apple TV+ has made it official and tapped Ashley Zukerman and Jessica Henwick to star in the upcoming third season of the popular sci-fi series.
Zukerman, who played Nate on HBO’s Succession, will star as Daniel, a young and hungry congressman, while Iron Fist’s Henwick will play Helen, a whip-smart reporter. Season three of Silo will continue to be showrun by Graham Yost and will see Rebecca Ferguson returning as Juliette, an engineer who has sought answers about a loved one’s murder.
At the end of season two, Juliette returned to the silo amid a flashback to contemporary Washington D.C. that could well have foreshadowed the drama of the upcoming season. Apple TV earlier renewed Silo for two more seasons to allow the show to tell a complete story based on a trilogy of novels by Hugh Howey.

The Season 2 finale of Silo on Apple TV+ left viewers stunned with a massive twist. The episode jumped back in time 140 years, showing us the world before the silos were built. This surprise sets up even more mysteries for the upcoming seasons.
In Season 3, Ashley Zuckerman and Jessica Henwick will join the cast. Fans can also look forward to learning much more about the origins of the silos. According to showrunner Graham Yost, the series has been planned out in detail since its early days.
He revealed to TheWrap that they were given the green light to complete the entire adaptation of Hugh Howey’s books during Season 1.
Yost shared that about five weeks into Season 1, they knew they were going to finish the whole story. Even though the public announcement for additional seasons came later, Apple had already agreed to let them move forward due to the strong audience response.

It was recently reported that Apple TV+ has renewed the Rebecca Ferguson show for two more seasons and is planning to end after season 4. Season 2 has just finished its run. Season 3 is currently being filmed, and season 4 is being written so they can shoot back-to-back. Silo follows the last 10,000 people on Earth as they navigate life in their mile-deep underground home protecting them from the toxic outside world. The catch? No one knows when or why the silo was built and anyone who goes snooping for answers faces fatal consequences. The series has an impressive cast that includes Ferguson (Doctor Sleep), Tim Robbins (The Shawshank Redemption), David Oyelowo (Selma), Common (John Wick: Chapter 2), and Rashida Jones (Parks and Recreation).
The Wrap recently sat down with the show’s creator, Graham Yost, now that season 2 has come to an end. Beware: Spoilers follow for anyone wanting to stay fresh. Yost...

Silo season 2 is at an end, and it left us with a whole lot of questions. "Into the Fire" was a powerful episode for Apple TV+'s post-apocalyptic science fiction series, featuring at least one major death as well as a violent clash for the fate of Silo 18. And that's not even getting into the major cliffhanger for Juliette Nichols (Rebecca Ferguson), who was last seen diving to the floor in a small room full of fire.
But by far the most mind-bending turn of the finale was its final scene. After flames engulf the airlock where Juliette and Bernard (Tim Robbins) are trapped, we cut to black. When the show resumes, it's in a far more alien — yet familiar — landscape. Yes, Silo has brought us back out to the world as we know it, leaping into the past to show Washington D.C. before the apocalypse. There, we meet...

The “Silo” Season 2 finale ended with another jaw-dropping twist, as the Apple TV+ sci-fi mystery series went backward in time 140 years to show viewers the world before the silos.

Julia Garner has been fortunate enough to share the screen with some massively talented actors throughout her career, from Jessica Henwick and Hugo Weaving in The Royal Hotel to the Jason Bateman-led cast of Ozark and a bevy of stars including Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, and Josh Brolin in Sin City: A Dame to Die For. This year, however, she's about to take on her biggest role yet opposite an extensive cast of A-listers thanks to The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The MCU film is a star-studded affair even by the superhero franchise's lofty standards, with Pedro Pascal playing Reed Richards opposite Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm/The Thing. That's without considering the eye-watering supporting cast and Ralph Ineson's villainous Galactus.

Daredevil: Born Again is fast approaching and we'd bet on Marvel Studios pulling out all the stops to build up hype for the revival ahead of the show's March 4 premiere.
In the meantime, it's no secret that season 2 begins production early next year, meaning the hero will get the 18 episodes promised when the series was first announced. As for what the Man Without Fear's future looks like, Spider-Man 4 rumours persist, and we now have an update from The Cosmic Circus.
According to the site, "There are already ideas being discussed for Daredevil post-Secret Wars not only for a third season but also his future inclusion in films." There's no word on what those movies will be, but we can discount at least one upcoming blockbuster.
The report later points out that we likely won't see Daredevil in Avengers: Doomsday because "given the way the first season ends,...

Among a top 10 list mostly populated by holiday films, this year's Cuckoo has claimed the fourth position on Hulu's most-viewed feature list. The horror landed on the streamer on December 17. The underrated flick, starring Hunter Schafer (Euphoria) and Dan Stevens (Legion), follows 17-year-old Gretchen (Schafer) who moves to the German Alps to live with her estranged father, Luis (Marton Csokas), and his young wife and their child. Once there, Gretchen realizes nothing is as it appears and soon finds herself ensnared in a dangerous game — one that often seems like a mind-bending nightmare — orchestrated by her father's boss, Mr. König (Stevens).
Cuckoo is a blend of psychological horror, family drama, and body horror, exploring themes of family, identity, and autonomy. Directed by German filmmaker Tilman Singer (Luz), the Neon film failed to impress at the box office, grossing only $6.7 million against a $7 million budget, but fared fairly well with critics.

When Daredevil: Born Again premieres in March 2025, Netflix's Defenders Saga will begin its second act. Brad Winderbaum, Head of Marvel Television and Animation, recently teased that there are quite a few surprises in the Daredevil continuation that should please fans of the Netflix/Marvel series.
While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter about What If...? Season 3, Winderbaum was asked if fans can expect to see other Netflix/Marvel characters, like Jessica Henwick's Colleen Wing, reappear in the MCU now that the Defenders Saga is officially part of the sacred timeline. "It’s all one shared universe, so you never know where characters are going to pop up next. It’s a huge opportunity to have officially folded those stories into our canon," shared Winderbaum. "Whether or not they were always part of the canon, it’s now official, and we can play with those toys in our toy box.

Head of Marvel Television and Animation Brad Winderbaum has a lot to be proud of this year.
From the critical and audience acclaim of X-Men ‘97 and Agatha All Along to Disney+’s first profitable fiscal quarter (Q3), Winderbaum looks to carry that momentum into 2025. But first he’s bidding adieu to one of the studio’s foundational series, What If…?. The animated anthology has no shortage of what-if stories that it could explore, but capping the show has more to do with the needs of the overall Marvel Cinematic Universe.
“What If…? has always tied into the greater MCU and the Multiverse Saga. And for reasons that will become clear in the next couple of years, this was the right time to culminate the series from a story perspective,” Winderbaum tells The Hollywood Reporter.

Film studio Neon's presence in the horror genre expands with Hunter Schafer's thriller, and there are a lot of factors when it comes to figuring out where to watch Cuckoo. After her breakout role in Euphoria, Schafer became a rising star attached to many projects in various-sized roles. Cuckoo is a major turning point for her as it marks her first leading role in a movie after smaller roles in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and Kinds of Kindness. It is her presence as the lead that made Neon's 2024 horror movie one of the most exciting.

Tilman Singer’s latest horror film (after the chilling 2018 film Luz), Cuckoo, is a similarly unsettling terrifier that takes us into the world of a remote Bavarian resort. With a plot that keeps pushing new and mysterious elements that tease of psychological tension, supernatural horror, and family drama, Cuckoo explores themes of isolation, grief, and the dangers of not trusting one’s instincts. Starring Hunter Schafer, Dan Stevens, and Jessica Henwick, the film is intermittently captivating, building an eerie atmosphere and unnerving narrative. However, Cuckoo is never truly able to bring all the elements together, especially that baffling ending; it is crucial to look closely at it.

An underrated 2024 horror movie with a 78% Rotten Tomatoes score starring Euphoria and The Matrix actors is coming to streaming this month. With the year coming to an end, 2024 has been a great year for horror movies, with Alien: Romulus emerging as arguably the biggest hit of the year with rave reviews and over $350 million at the box office. A Quiet Place: Day One also capitalized on the established popularity of its franchise and pulled in over $260 million.
While these two films were franchise installments from major studios, some of the most distinct and memorable horror films of the year have emerged from the indie scene. Neon's Longlegs starring Nicolas Cage turned a brilliant marketing campaign into a box office triumph, earning $127 million on a budget smaller than $10 million. Immaculate is another one of the indie studio's 2024 horror movies which, starring Euphoria's Sydney Sweeney, was a box office success that earned over $35 million.
