If the Season 2 finale of Severance had you seeing red, that's exactly what the producers intended.
The bold new color palette — which was introduced so memorably in the final frame of the episode — was just one of the burning questions discussed in a standing room only Q&a on Saturday with the Apple TV+ series' creative team at the Aero Theater in Santa Monica, following a screening of the Season 2 finale. The panel included executive producer and director Ben Stiller; creator, executive producer, and writer Dan Erickson; executive producer and actor Adam Scott; executive producer and actor Patricia Arquette; and actors Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Dichen Lachman, Gwendoline Christie, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, and Sarah Bock.

This article contains Spoilers for Severance Season 2, Episode 10, "Cold Harbor."
The tenth and final episode of Severance’ssecond season culminated in a bloody way. After Innie Mark (Adam Scott) finished refining the “Cold Harbor” data file, he made his way to Lumon’s testing floor to attempt to rescue Outie Mark’s wife, Gemma (Dichen Lachman). After Cold Harbor was finished, Lumon had no need for Mark or Gemma, thus leading to the rescue. Severance director Ben Stiller opened up to The Hollywood Reporter about the episode’s violent turn.
While Innie Mark attempts to find the elevator that will lead him to Gemma, he is confronted by Lumon’s nefarious Mr. Drummond (Ólafur Darri Ólafsson), who thankfully is distracted enough not to sacrifice Emile the goat to Lumon founder Kier Eagan. A fight between Innie Mark and Mr. Drummond ensues, and Mark is given the upper hand with a...

‘Game of Thrones’ Character Showrunners Were Most “Nervous” to Cast Became an Instant Hit Among Fans
In the world of Game of Thrones, where power, loyalty, and survival are at the forefront, one character stands out for defying traditional expectations, someone whose strength and honor captivate both viewers and fellow characters alike. With a towering presence and unwavering moral code, this character quickly became a fan favorite. The character represents resilience and courage in a world that often undermines those qualities.

But casting this role wasn’t without its challenges. Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss were particularly “nervous” about finding the right actor to portray this daunting figure. However, the actor not only embodies physical strength but also an inner resolve that would resonate with the audience.

A surprise standout in the season 2 finale of "Severance" was Gwendoline Christie's Lorne. Introduced as a mysterious woman in charge of Lumon's oddly-placed goat farm (which sparked plenty of fan theories), Lorne turned into an unexpected ally for Mark S. (Adam Scott) here. Her standout scene is when she points a gun at the terrifying Mr. Drummond (Ólafur Darri Ólafsson), rescuing Mark S. from certain death in the process. Yes, Mr. Drummond manages to disarm her, but she still gets to beat him up shortly afterward.
The fight is raw and brutal, not unlike a certain famous fight scene Gwendoline Christie got to perform on "Game of Thrones." There, her character Brienne of Tarth finds herself in a fight to the death with Sandor "The Hound" Clegane, and Brienne just barely manages to pull out a win. Just as Lorne loses her gun and has to fight with her hands,...

Coming just hours after the show’s Season 2 finale shook fans, the “Severance” PaleyFest panel rocked the Dolby Theatre by unleashing a live marching band number — recreating a memorable moment from the episode.
Tramell Tillman, who plays Mr. Milchick, led a marching band through the Dolby Theatre. Prior to the sudden performance, Tillman had been the only one out of the cast and creative team to not show up on stage when his name was called. Just as the panel was getting started — and after Stiller explained that the actor “goes off the grid” at times — Tillman made his entrance with the band.
The Season 2 finale, which was released the day prior to the panel, involves Mr. Milchick acting as a drum major during an elaborate marching band sequence.

This article contains spoilers for Severance Season 2, Episode 10, "Cold Harbor," now streaming on Apple TV+.
Out of everything there is to know about Severance, one peculiar thing that has stuck in everyone's minds is the purpose of the goats. Goats are permanent residents of the severed floor at Lumon Industries, which is part of a department led by Gwendoline Christie's Lorne. While Christie is only in two episodes of the series, Lorne plays an integral part in helping Mark rescue Gemma from her captivity.
In preparing for her role on Severance, Christie collaborated with the creatives behind the Apple TV+ series to create Lorne's visual aesthetic that transports viewers into another world. But the best part about her role? Being in charge of the goats. This article contains spoilers for "Severance" season 2 episode 10, "Cold Harbor"
From innies and outies to characters who are entirely unsevered (as far as we know), you can count on nearly every "Severance" character to face untold existential hurdles that few mere mortals are equipped to comprehend, let alone handle. Unless a character is armed with the ironclad self-obsession of Ricken Hale (Michael Chernus) or the megalomaniac devotion of Jame Eagan (Michael Siberry), the world Lumon Industries created seems custom designed to grind a person down.
The company, on the other hand, is built to endure. Over two seasons of "Severance," nothing the protagonists have managed to do has really swayed Lumon in any significant way beyond tiny inconveniences, minor PR crises, and the occasional personnel change ... until now.

It's not just you. Even the Severance brain trust admits the explosive Season 2 finale was just as "heartbreaking" to film as it was to watch.
Core members of the Apple TV+ series' creative team and cast reunited on Friday at the jammed-to-capacity Dolby Theater in Hollywood to rewatch the episode "Cold Harbor" and then break down the game-changing season for the opening night of Paley Fest 2025, an annual festival showcasing the best in television ahead of Emmy voting.
"Watching with this audience has been one of my most special experiences with this show," Ben Stiller told the crowd of roughly 3,300 fans. Stiller, who executive produces the series and has directed most of the episodes, including the season finale, was joined by creator Dan Erickson and cast members Adam Scott, Patricia Arquette, Britt Lower, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Dichen Lachman, Tramell Tillman, Michael Chernus, Sarah Bock, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, and Gwendoline Christie.

The number crunchers of Lumon will be back. (And no, they did not relocate to New York City.)
Fresh off the season two finale, Severance has been renewed for a third installment at Apple TV+. The dystopian series stars Adam Scott as Mark Scout, a widower who undergoes a procedure to be “severed” that renders him unable to access his memories at work and vice versa. He works at the mysterious Lumon Industries with Irving (John Turturro), Dylan (Zach Cherry) and Helly (Britt Lower), and season two picks up after the team led what is referred to as the “Microdat Uprising.”

Created by Dan Erickson and produced by Ben Stiller, the Apple original series also stars Tramell Tillman, Patricia Arquette, Christopher Walken and Dichen Lachman; joining the cast in season two are Sarah Bock, Alia Shawkat, Gwendoline Christie, Stefano Carannante, Bob Balaban and Merritt Wever.

As Severance fans continue debating the innies and outies of Friday's watercooler Season 2 finale, the Apple TV+ show is in a strong position to grow like a black diamond watermelon at the 2025 Emmys.
Three years ago, for Season 1, the sci-fi show about office drones who separate their workplace memories from their normal memories received 14 Emmy nominations and won two (Best Main Title Design and Best Music Composition). Succession and Ozark (which have been put out to pasture) and Squid Game (which recently had a muted Season 2 return) bested Severance in all the above-the-line categories.
Severance's 2022 bids were for drama series, lead actor Adam Scott, supporting actress Patricia Arquette, supporting actor John Turturro, supporting actor Christopher Walken, director Ben Stiller, writer Dan Erickson, casting, main title theme music, main title design, music composition, picture editing x2, and production design.
Assuming it nabs those same nominations again, the show would make do with 13 citations.

For seven seasons, Gwendoline Christie played the stout-hearted Brienne of Tarth on Game of Thrones, a woman who could go toe-to-toe with the male knights in a culture dominated by men. Brienne was shunned for her interests, but she did it better than pretty much anybody else and quickly won the hearts of fans. She also participated in some brutal fight scenes, most notably a season 4 clash with Sandor "the Hound" Clegane.
I couldn't help but think of that fight scene during the season 2 finale of Severance, where Christie's character Lorne — the woman in charge of the Mammalians Nurturable department, which tends a flock of goats deep in the bowels of the Lumon building — took on Mr. Drummond, the brutal Lumon enforcer who has been making Lorne sacrifice those goats for we know not how long. After Mr. Drummond started beating up Mark S, Lorne jumped him to help Mark...

Note: This story contains spoilers from “Severance” Season 2, Episode 10.
“Severance” served up it’s expectedly tense Season 2 finale, and in typical form offered up a number of questions to mull over until Season 3.
Mark (Adam Scott) and Helly (Britt Lower) are last seen fleeing through the emergency light-soaked halls of the severed floor running Kier knows where. While Mark chose to help break Gemma (Dichen Lachman) out from her Cold Harbor prison, he chose not to reunite his outie with his not-dead wife. On top of all that, it seems that the other innies of the floor are finally deciding to fight back against the Lumon administration.
Below, we look at the biggest hanging questions left by Season 2 as the hopefully not to long wait for Season 3 begins.
Will there be a Season 3?
Yes! It was announced the day the Season 2 finale released that — unsurprisingly — Apple TV+ renewed “Severance” for a third season.

To put this (more or less) monosyllabically, don't read past this point if you have not watched the last hour of "Severance" season 2.
You didn't think the creative minds behind "Severance" would cast as recognizable a name as Gwendoline Christie if they didn't have at least one more payoff up their sleeves, now did you? The same certainly goes for the most popular and enduring mystery in the entire series: those inexplicable goats. After it seemed like the writers would be content with treating both as one-and-done elements earlier in season 2, the finale tied up some nagging loose ends as dramatically as we could've ever expected. By the end of the episode, viewers craving answers finally received an explanation as to why Lumon Industries would have an entire department called Mammalians Nurturable with severed workers tending to flocks of goats. To nobody's surprise, the reveal was just as weird and...

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for Severance, Season 2 Episode 10, “Cold Harbor.”] Severance‘s Season 2 finale served up one knock-down drag-out fight as Mammalians Nurturable department head Lorne (Gwendoline Christie) went toe-to-toe with Lumon higher-up Mr. Drummond (Ólafur Darri Ólafsson). While Christie is no stranger to onscreen fighting after spending several seasons playing Brienne of Tarth on HBO’s former hit Game of Thrones, it was something she’d initially avoided after her run as a Knight of the Seven Kingdoms. “I hadn’t done any combat since Game of Thrones,” Christie points out to TV Insider, adding, “That had been a conscious decision that it wasn’t something I wanted to do anymore.” Apple TV+ So, what changed her mind? “When Ben Stiller says there’s a fight scene in Severance, and it is as outlandish, bizarre, and a strange psychic explosion as this one was, I found it irresistible,” Christie remarks. Ultimately, the performer who...

In the Severance season two finale (spoiler alert!), Mark S. murdered Mr. Drummond. Apple TV+’s psychological thriller Severance delivered a jaw-dropping season 2 finale, answering burning questions while introducing even more mysteries.
The episode, titled “Cold Harbor,” was packed with twists, from revelations about Gemma to the unsettling truth about the goats. Stars Adam Scott, Britt Lower, and Gwendoline Christie break down the episode and what’s next for their characters.
Mark’s Devastating Decision
One of the most shocking moments came when Innie Mark chose to stay inside Lumon with Helly, leaving his Outie, and his newly freed wife, Gemma behind. Speaking on the choice, Scott said, “For Innie Mark, it’s a no-brainer emotionally, but logically, it’s a difficult decision. You have colliding interests within the same body, and eventually, that has to come to a head.“
For viewers, it was heartbreaking to see Gemma left behind just when escape seemed possible. Scott admitted he has mixed feelings, recognizing how...

Warning: This post contains spoilers about Severance Season 2.
Severance, Apple TV+’s hit sci-fi thriller, ended its second season Thursday night with a tense finale that answered one of the show’s biggest questions — what exactly is Cold Harbor? — and found innie Mark S. choosing his autonomy over sacrificing himself for Mark Scout. Here’s what happened in the Severance Season 2 finale, “Cold Harbor.”
The truth about Cold Harbor
“Cold Harbor” picks up where “The After Hours” left off, with Mark S., Harmony Cobel (Patricia Arquette), and Devon Scout-Hale (Jenn Tullock) meeting in a severed room at the birthing center to discuss getting Gemma (Dichen Lachman) out of Lumon before the company kills her because her use to them is finished. The plan is for Mark S. to finish the Cold Harbor project file and rush down to the Testing Floor where Gemma is being held, where Mark will save her.

With Season 2 coming sometime this year, Wednesday star Jenna Ortega has teased an upcoming episode based around slashers.
Per Variety, Season 2 of the Addams Family series, centering around the eponymous Wednesday Addams, will have a "whole episode based off of slashers," says Ortega. The actress further promises fans that Wednesday Season 2 will be full of horror references and more ambitious than the first season. Ortega hinted that the first half of the upcoming season drew inspiration from films like Carrie, Prom Night, and Beetlejuice, which, coincidentally, had a recent legacy sequel starring Ortega. Like the first, this upcoming season will again see Tim Burton as executive producer and director for the season's first half.
Wednesday Season 2 will also be more visually impressive. Ortega states, "Visually, I can say we have some of the most fun we've ever had." She also stated, "I feel like we kind of had a little bit more trust,...

Season 2 of the hit Netflix Addams Family series Wednesday started filming in Ireland last May and is now making its way through post-production – and series star Jenna Ortega says that when the new season starts streaming, we can expect to see a lot of horror references in its episodes. There will even be an episode based on slasher movies!

One of the things I noticed while watching Star Wars Resistance with my daughter is how many characters from the sequel trilogy appear throughout the series. Bb-8, Poe Dameron, General Hux and Princess Leia all pop up throughout the show.
One character that appears is the villain Captain Phasma. Her role on the series greatly expands not the character itself but her arc in the franchise. In fact, she has more screentime in Resistance than in both The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. She has five appearances, four in Season 1 and once during the second season. Gwendoline Christie, who portrayed the character in the sequel trilogy films, reprised her role for the show.
During the run on the series, she proves how vital she was to the First Order and that she stood as an important leader of the stormtroopers. In "The Triple Dark, she arrives at the end of the episode,...

Affectionately-known as the resident "Brain-in-a-jar" by fans and the writers' room alike, showrunner Dan Erickson delivers again on his promise for answers in the new season of Severance. True to form, episode 7 promised to bring us a truly wild ride to finish out the season arc. Just like the "Defiant Jazz" that came before, "Chikhai Bardo" broke our hearts about Gemma all over again.
The two-year break caused fans to despair if we would even get another season, even amidst assurances from Ben Stiller and his team that season 2 was in production. In the meantime, we had plenty of time to theorize. Erickson has been very guarded with the world of Severance, careful not to let key details slip and confirm zany fan theories to throw people off the trail.

“Game of Thrones,” the groundbreaking HBO series that aired from 8 seasons, captivated audiences worldwide with its intricate storytelling, complex characters, and unexpected plot twists. Based on George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” novels, the show transported viewers to the fictional continents of Westeros and Essos, where noble families vied for power amidst dragons, magic, and political intrigue. As the series concluded, each main character’s journey reached a defining end, leaving a lasting impact on fans and the realm they inhabited.

This article contains spoilers for "Severance" season 2 episode 8, "Sweet Vitriol."
"Severance" season 2 episode 8, "Sweet Vitriol," continues the previous episode's theme of focusing on a single character's story. This time, the eyes are on Patricia Arquette's Harmony Cobel, who takes a trip to the town she left behind to acquire some important papers that reveal that she, not Jame Eagan (Michael Siberry), was the inventor of the severance procedures. It's a nice little revelation but ultimately doesn't add a lot to Cobel, whose narrative continues to be adrift after Lumon cut her loose.
This is a problem especially since the underwhelming episode follows the excellent "Lost-"influenced "Severance" season 2 episode 7, "Chikhai Bardo." That episode focuses on Gemma (Dichen Lachman) and elevates her from a damsel in distress figure to a very real, very complex person whose particular predicament is integral to the entire show's central secrets. What's more, the episode...

The second season of Apple TV+’s Severance is coming to an end, but fear not, questions will be asked.
Quinta Brunson is moderating a Q&a about the second season of the drama series. The event, which includes an all-guild screening of the Adam Scott-fronted show, will take place at the DGA Theater in Los Angeles on March 22.
Brunson is not directly involved in Severance but is close with Scott, having guest-starred on the revival of Starz’s Party Down that aired in 2023.
Panelists for the event include Ben Stiller, who directs and exec produces the show; creator Dan Erickson; and stars Scott, Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, Patricia Arquette, Sarah Bock, Ólafur Darri Ólafsson and Gwendoline Christie.

If HBO’s Game of Thrones taught us anything (besides never naming your kid Joffrey), it’s that no one was safe. Characters in the show were getting killed left and right, just as traumatically as the series finale. So it’s not surprising that Alfie Allen, who played Theon Greyjoy, kept asking the showrunners about his fate. After all, Westeros wasn’t exactly big on job security.
Alfie Allen as Theon Greyjoy in Game of Thrones | image: HBO
But instead of giving him a straight answer, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss decided to mess with him in true Game of Thrones fashion. They handed him a fake script where Theon dies and then went on to casually ask him if he’d like to return as a brainless zombie in the next series. Brutal? Yes. Funny? Also yes. Thankfully, Allen took it better than Theon would have.

Sometimes there’s a song within you that just needs to come out, as many a musician has said in a puff-piece interview. But what if you’re not sure it’s your voice fighting its way up your throat? Argentine writer-director Lucio Castro dangles this question in “After This Death,” a quivery, elusive and strangely moving psychological drama that flirts with outright horror-tinged silliness — only to be pulled back from the brink by the quiet emotional gravity applied to a cryptic scenario. If not quite as fully, radiantly formed as Castro’s 2019 debut, the time-slipping queer heartbreaker “End of the Century,” this unusual, sleekly atmospheric item nonetheless sees the filmmaker clearing the difficult-second-album hurdle — with, aptly enough, a story that hinges on a singularly complicated album recording process.
Much credit for “After This Death” succeeding as well as it does is owed to Castro’s compatriot and leading lady Mia Maestro,...

Severance is halfway through its long-awaited second season and, according to Apple TV+, it's breaking records. According to a new report, Severance has surpassed the immensely popular Ted Lasso as Apple TV+'s most-watched series ever, which certainly bodes well for the show's future.
Per Deadline, the second season of Severance has consistently been bringing in tons of viewers, having ranked fourth on Nielsen's Top 10 Originals chart for the week of Jan. 13, the week of the season two premiere. The series has reported 589 million minutes watched for both seasons, with 28% of those minutes coming from the season two premiere. Deadline also notes that Severance helped drive more people to the service, as Apple TV+ saw a "+126% increase in new subscribers between Jan. 1-19, 2025 vs. Dec. 1-19, 2024". Argentinian writer-director Lucio Castro made a quiet stunner of a first feature in 2020 with the exquisitely evocative queer romance, End of the Century. Trading the beaches and parks of Barcelona for woodsy upstate New York in the fall, the filmmaker delivers a self-consciously enigmatic drama that includes a messianic electro-psychedelic rock star with a cult following, a torrid affair, a family tragedy, a near-fatal hiking accident and a car careening over a bridge, its driver missing and eventually presumed dead. Oh, there’s also toxic fandom that becomes a physical threat.
Despite all that and its momentous title, After This Death isn’t really about anything. Or at least nothing that holds the attention for long. Where End of the Century felt intimately personal, the new film is a studied and distancing slog that feels considerably longer and slower than its 96-minute run time. The script name-checks Hitchcock — specifically Vertigo...

Cinema took over a snowy German capital on Thursday evening as the 2025 Berlin Film Festival officially kicked off with a breezy opening ceremony at the Berlinale Palast Theater.
The ceremony was much shorter than previous editions, with the bulk of the evening serving as the presentation of this year’s Honorary Bear for career achievement, which was handed to veteran actor Tilda Swinton. German filmmaker Edward Berger presented Swinton the award and she gave an impassioned, political speech to the audience inside the Palast.
“The inhumane is being perpetrated on our watch,” Swinton began her speech. “I’m here to name it without hesitation or doubt in my mind, and to lend my unwavering solidarity to all those who recognize the unacceptable complacency of our greed-addicted governments who make nice with planet wreckers and war criminals, wherever they come from.”
Swinton did not name politicians or specific conflicts but appeared to criticize U.
