Ahead of its summer release on Disney+, here’s a new trailer for Alien: Earth, the incoming TV show…
We must admit, we’re really enjoying the promotional campaign for this summer’s Alien: Earth, the upcoming FX/Disney+ series which will bring the world of xenomorphs and questionable human behaviour to the small screen for the first time. We’ve already seen short trailers that gave us what looked like a sheep’s eye, then another preview that went full xenomorph Pov. Now we get another quick glimpse of an exciting scene and a few other shots of the series beyond.
Alex Lawther, Essie Davis, Timothy Olyphant, Kit Young, Adarsh Gourav, David Rysdahl, Babou Ceesay, Lily Newmark, Adrian Edmondson, Sandra Yi Sencindiver and Moe Bar-El co-star in the series, which is set two years before the events of Alien.

Following some brief promos, FX has finally released a full teaser for Noah Hawley's Alien: Earth, which begins with the first clip from the upcoming sci-fi horror series.
The footage finds a man sitting in a very Nostromo-esque control room as his crewmate desperately tries to convince him to open the door and let her in. The woman then turns to face whatever has been stalking her, and we get a first look at one of the show's Xenomorphs on the attack.
Hawley has hinted that the series will introduce a new breed of the iconic creature, though it's difficult to make out any significant changes to the classic design here.
As the Xeno dispatches its victim, the man - possibly the ship's android - tells the computer that the crew is dead. Though we don't know for sure, we assume this is what remains of the crew of the Uscss Maginot,...

Ridley Scott's iconic Alien film has spawned a franchise of Xenomorph-fronted films and a bevy of loyal fans. And now the house that Ripley built is headed to the small screen under the tutelage of Fargo and Legion creator, Noah Hawley, with Alien: Earth. In a new clip that was first shared with shareholders during a spectacle-laden call for shareholders with Disney CEO, Bob Iger, the tension and stakes of the original films feels alive and well — though that may be the only thing alive by the time the titular alien arrives on our planet.
The series, which also recently had a new trailer revealed at SXSW, is said to follow a young woman (played by Sydney Chandler) and a "ragtag group of tactical soldiers" who make "a fateful discovery" after "a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth ... that puts them face-to-face with the planet's greatest threat." Superboys Of Malegaon Worldwide Box Office Update! ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Most of us thought Superboys Of Malegaon would take the Laapataa Ladies route and shine bright in India as well as overseas. Unfortunately, that is not the case, as Adarsh Gourav starrer has turned out to be a major disappointment. It has already wrapped up its run in the international circuit. Scroll below for the worldwide update after 20 days.
Sandwiched in the domestic market
The scenario could have been completely different had Reema Kagti’s directorial been a solo release. Sohum Shah’s Crazxy stole its thunder with massive pre-release hype, although it also failed to achieve milestones in its box office run. Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava continued to remain the #1 choice of audience, with little less scope for other films to steal the limelight.

Crazxy Vs Superboys Of Malegaon Box Office Day 14 (Photo Credit – Instagram)
A couple of weeks ago, we witnessed a box office between two content-driven Bollywood films, Crazxy and Superboys Of Malegaon. In terms of collection, Sohum Shah’s film has taken a big lead, but the overall number isn’t big enough. Let’s find out how both outings fared in 14 days!
Reception of the films
Both films, belonging to different genres, were released on February 28, 2025. They opened to positive reviews from critics. The Sohum Shah-led thriller was mainly praised for the lead actor’s performance and the edge-of-the-seat engaging content. Reema Kagti’s directorial was praised for its inspiring and rooted concept along with the performances.

Directed by Reema Kagti, Superboys of Malegaon is, according to Subhash K Jha, ‘an exceptionally scripted and performed piece of art’. The film, which stars Adarsh Gourav, Vineet Kumar Singh, and Shashank Arora, is a love letter to movies.
Superboys of Malegaon is a poignant tale of filmmaking and friendship. The movie within a movie takes inspiration from the real-life story of Nasir Sheikh, an amateur filmmaker from the small town of Malegaon. The town’s residents look to Bollywood for a much-needed escape, and Nasir wants to make Bollywood-inspired films for the people of Malegaon, by the people of Malegaon.
Adarsh Gourav, plays the lead role of Nasir Sheik, and in this fabulous interview, he talks with Subhash K Jha about all things Superboys of Malegaon.
What was your initial reaction when you heard about the people of Malegaon who made parody versions of hit films?

Tu Yaa Main Teaser Review Ft. Shanaya Kapoor & Adarsh Gourav! ( Photo Credit – YouTube )
Times have changed and so has love language. This generation doesn’t depend on the classic ‘Aankhon Aankhon Mein Ishara’ wali mohabbat. They are more raw and real! Shanaya Kapoor and Adarsh Gourav turn this real modern fling who bump into each other in a very real circumstance for their upcoming film Tu Yaa Main!

Does this fling change into something more? Not sure! Is it a date? Probably, Yes! But this Bloody adventure takes a sharp Khoon Bhari Maang twist because there seems to be a ‘crocodile’ involved!

India’s Colour Yellow continues its streak of unconventional storytelling with “Tu Yaa Main,” a new thriller pairing BAFTA nominee Adarsh Gourav with newcomer Shanaya Kapoor in what the filmmakers describe as an “ultimate date fright film.”
The project marks the first collaboration between producers Aanand L. Rai and director Bejoy Nambiar, known for his atmospheric thriller “Shaitan.” The teaser unfolds in what’s described as “hauntingly atmospheric backwaters,” offering glimpses of a narrative that oscillates between romance and pulse-pounding suspense.
The film is positioned as an adrenaline-charged experience that seamlessly blends love, primal terror, and survival. Produced by Himanshu Sharma (the “Haseen Dillruba” franchise) and written by Abhishek Bandekar, the core narrative thrives on the lead pair’s strikingly different socio-economic backgrounds — a deliberate clash that speaks to the characters’ conflicting worldviews.

Crazxy Vs Superboys Of Malegaon Box Office Day 7 (Photo Credit – Instagram)
Last week, amid the wave of Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, two comparatively smaller Bollywood films arrived in theatres. We’re talking about Sohum Shah’s Crazxy and Superboys Of Malegaon, starring Adarsh Gourav, Vineet Kumar Singh, and Shashank Arora. Both films enjoyed critical acclaim, but did they find any audience at the Indian box office? Let’s find it out by looking at their 7-day run!
Reception of both films
Both releases belonged to different genres. Sohum Shah’s film was a thriller, while the other one was a coming-of-age film. Both received positive reviews from critics for the content they offered. The performances of the cast were praised, along with the screenplay and overall execution. Even among the ticket-buying audience, they received favorable word-of-mouth. However, this positivity didn’t reach a wider section of the audience.

While we're still waiting on a full trailer, FX recently released some snippets of new footage (see below) for Noah Hawley's Alien: Earth, and we now have a series of short "Secret Transmission" teasers which appear to document the events that lead to the Uscss Maginot crash-landing on Earth.
There are quite a few classic Alien callbacks here, including very familiar computer sounds, garbled transmissions, interiors that look quite a bit like the Nostromo from Ridley Scott's film, and a cat that could very easily pass for Jonesy.
The first clip begins with a crew member fixing a camera to the cat's head, and our new feline friend ends up recording some kind of red alert event that sends the crew into a panic. We also see someone in a cryosleep pod, and we're willing to bet that this guy is just bursting to get off the ship...

The Alien saga continues with a mysterious package containing five (!) new clips. FX is in full promo mode, having already shown a clip of the Xenomorph from their upcoming series Alien: Earth in a recent, larger promo video for their 2025 lineup. The upcoming spinoff to the iconic sci-fi franchise is set two years before the events of Ridley Scott's original 1979 film, in the year 2120, when five corporations – Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic and Threshold – control all technological advancement, promising the world a new tomorrow. Helmed by Fargo and Legion creator Noah Hawley, Alien: Earth is already heavily tied to the original film, but the data drive that we received from FX shows a possibly familiar furry friend showing audiences around the soon-to-crash Uscss Maginot.
The show's synopsis reads as follows:
"When a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth, a young woman (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers...

The Alien franchise is set to continue on the small screen with an “FX on Hulu” TV series called Alien: Earth, from Fargo creator Noah Hawley, which is aiming for a Summer 2025 premiere. One of the first things we heard about the Alien TV series – and one of the most surprising things about it – is that it will be set on Earth (thus the title), a couple of decades before the events of the first movie. FX chairman John Landgraf has said the show will take place “right near the end of this century.” According to Deadline, the setting puts it “a few years before Prometheus,...

Hulu has released a sneak peek of its upcoming TV shows, and that means we have a new look at Alien: Earth. The brief preview offers our first proper glimpse at showrunner Noah Hawley's take on the iconic Xenomorph, and it's suitably terrifying.
It's hard to say how much this interpretation differs from others we've seen over the decades. However, the design is pretty much what you'd expect and perhaps closest to how the terrifying alien first appeared in the 1979 classic.
Other snippets include a shot of Timothy Olyphant's character, Alien: Earth's young cast, and relatively ominous snippets hinting at the chaos unleashed when the Xenomorph makes its presence felt on Earth.

It's a good time to be a fan of the Alien franchise. After last year's incredibly successful Alien: Romulus, written and directed by Fede Álvarez, a sequel was greenlit with the director returning to continue the story of Rain Carradine (Cailee Spaeny). Besides a Romulus sequel to look forward to, the Xenomorphs are also set to bring all their slimy terror onto small screens with Alien: Earth, the first-ever Alien television series being developed for FX on Hulu. Many of the series' details have been kept under wraps, with only a couple of short and ambiguous teasers released to keep the hype going. We got our first look at some actual footage from the series during the Academy Awards, and it's been uploaded online for all to see.

Crazxy Box Office Day 2 Early Estimates! ( Photo Credit – YouTube )
Sohum Shah’s thriller Crazxy has received favorable reviews but will take time to shine bright at the box office. It has showcased slight growth in collections on Saturday after opening on the predicted lines. Scroll below for the early trends of day 2.
Girish Kohli’s directorial majorly relied on word-of-mouth. While the early reviews have been fairly positive, there’s another huge roadblock. Sohum Shah starrer has only been provided a limited show count due to Chhaava stealing the maximum screens amid massive demand.
As per early trends, Crazxy has earned around 1.25-1.50 crores at the box office on day 2. It has witnessed a slight growth of 14-36% compared to 1.10 crores minted on the opening day. Ideally, the figures should have been higher but the strong competition from Chhaava and limited screen count is impacting the run.

As Indian cinema continues to gain recognition worldwide, it’s still hard to explain the hold it has on those of us who grew up with it.
The intrepid cinephile can always do their research; watch the latest buzzy international feature, check out popular films that are streaming, even judge a book by its cover (a movie by its hit songs). But there’s something at the core of Hindi films especially that is deeply entrenched in culture. Usually I explain it by describing the theater where I watched every new Hindi film from 2005-2009: a suburban Michigan multiplex whose concession counter was flanked by two sacred symbols — a statue of the Hindu god Ganesh, and a framed photo of actor Shah Rukh Khan.
You need to understand that, at least conceptually, to appreciate something like “Superboys of Malegaon,” the true story of film fanatics in the eponymous village...
