Miranda Nolan is a British stage and screen actor and multi award winning Filmmaker, Director, Writer and Producer.
Born and raised in Stratford Upon Avon she is the daughter of actors Kim Hartman and John Nolan and first cousin to film director Christopher Nolan.
Miranda has worked extensively in Film, TV and Theatre and her credits include Inception, Dunkirk, The Dark Knight Rises, Witness For The Prosecution, Eastenders, Casualty, and Silent Witness for the BBC.
Miranda is a member of the world renowned Royal Shakespeare Company with whom she has appeared on stage in Stratford Upon Avon and London's Westend in award winning productions including Arthur Miller's Death Of A Salesman where she played Letta alongside Antony Sher's critically acclaimed portrayal of Willy Loman and as an original cast member of Shakespeare's Richard II starring David Tennant.
Miranda is the founder of Serenity Films production company. Her directorial debut, Perfect which she starred in, wrote and produced has had an outstanding festival run. Beginning with a world premiere at Academy Award and BAFTA qualifying Foyle Film Festival where it was nominated for Best British Short. It then went on to win Best Short Film Director at London Women Film Festival 2025. Miranda won Best Producer at the London Director Awards 2025, Best First Time Filmmaker at Paris Women CineFest 2025, as well as being nominated for Best British Director at The British Short Film Awards 2024, nominated for the Rising Visionaries Award at Venezia Film Festival 2024, Best Female Director and Best Short Film nominations at New York Indie Shorts Awards 2025 and Best Short Film nomination at Folkestone Film Festival 2025.
Miranda holds a first class honours degree from Central Saint Martins College of Art, London, where she studied Set Design and Design For Performance. She designed the set for Turgenev's The Country Doctor in the Olivier Theatre at London's National Theatre and worked briefly as an art director for the BBC before becoming an actor.
At the age of 23 Miranda produced and starred in a stage production of Rebecca Pritchard's Essex Girls in London's off Westend fringe theatre.
Miranda holds a first dan Black belt in Kickboxing. She is a qualified Kickboxing coach and co founder of The International PinkBelt Kickboxing Empowerment Programme for Women and Girls, with her husband and producing partner, Marc Edwards who is a Fight Choreographer and International Speaker and Coach. They have two children.
