Dermot O’Leary has shared what fans have dubbed a “disappointing” response to the backlash over This Morning‘s segment on singing along at musicals.
On Wednesday’s (5 April) episode of the ITV morning show (5 March), O’Leary participated in a discussion about the subject alongside co-host Alison Hammond and guest Vanessa Feltz, after it was announced that Palace Theatre had asked audiences not to sing along during a production of The Bodyguard.
In a clip that went viral on social media, O’Leary could be seen laughing as Hammond said she would no longer go to see the show due to the new rule.
All three were strongly criticised by the theatre community. Days later, a “riot” broke out among audience members at The Bodyguard, which ended the performance and saw police called.

Congratulations to Jules O'Dwyer and her loveable border collie Matisse who won Britain's Got Talent last night (May 31). We must admit we came over a tad teary-eyed when Matisse's three-legged collie companion Skippy made his debut in their final act.
Last night's final prompted us to look back at all eight winners from the ITV talent show to see how they faired after their victories.
From Collabro to Pudsey the dog - which acts have had the most success post-bgt? Here's our ranking below:
1. Paul Potts
Paul Potts stunned the judges, audience and viewers of Bgt alike with his breathtaking rendition of 'Nessun Dorma' on the ITV talent show's first run in 2007. His audition became a YouTube sensation and was later confirmed as the fourth most viewed YouTube video in the UK.

Britain's Got Talent returns to our small screen on Saturday (April 12), and we've already been treated to a sneak peek at some of the acts we can expect to see on stage during the show's premiere.
But whatever happened to some of the show's most memorable acts from years gone by? What have they gone on to do following their appearance on the ITV talent show, we hear you ponder? Wonder no more with some of Bgt's past performers - from stand-out stars to the plain strange:
Faryl Smith
Mezzo-soprano Faryl Smith - then aged just 12 - blew the judges away and probably made Amanda Holden break down and blub with her beautiful rendition of 'Ava Maria' on the show in 2008.
Following her accomplishment as a finalist on the show, the singer signed a contract with Universal Classics and Jazz and released her debut album Faryl in March 2009. It went...

Les Dennis isn't exactly in our day-to-day thoughts, truth be told, but the news yesterday (January 23) that the light entertainment legend would be joining Coronation Street still managed to put a massive smile on our face. Les on the cobbles! Amazing!

Way back before Britain's Got Talent, The X Factor et al, there was New Faces, a notoriously tough competition where a panel of judges - including a youthful Noel Edmonds - marked variety acts on their "star quality", usually without chucking water over each other or trying to get into the papers with a particularly daring dress, as all that palaver is a modern talent show invention.

The contrasting styles of ballet and hip-hop dancing are illustrated with a humorous touch in our exclusive scene from Street Dance, the U.K. box office hit that invades U.S. theaters July 26. Directed by Max Giwa and Dania Pasquini, and starring Nichola Burley and Richard Winsor, this drama follows a street dance crew that joins forces with Royal ballet dancers to create an entirely new form of dance. Take a look at our exclusive scene, showing how the ballet performers first react to their rivals.
A street dance crew and a group of Royal ballet dancers strive to find common ground after they are forced to share the same rehearsal space. After battling it out on the dance floor, the two dance crews gradually learn to work together, forming an exciting new type of modern dance that no one ever saw coming.

The big talking point after last week's show was the brilliant Francine Lewis. I still think that she could make the top three after seeing the reaction that she's got from the public.
But the thing that viewers haven't seen yet is the exceptional talent still to come on Britain's Got Talent. I don't think anyone you've seen so far is safe. It's going to be really hard to call a winner.
Still to come on the show there is an amazing guitar-playing singer. And I mean amazing. There's an amazing ventriloquist. An amazing magician. So while I think Francine has a great chance of making the final I really couldn't call whether she's a winner. It's too close.
It's like a breath of fresh of air to have all this variety on the show. It's an absolute joy for me on More Talent as well. Over the years we've had loads of variety,...

It was a case of reality TV eating itself, spitting itself out and then eating itself again. Alice Fredenham has appeared on both Britain's Got Talent and The Voice over the past two weeks, increasing tensions further in the ongoing Simon Cowell/BBC talent show battle.
On Britain's Got Talent, Fredenham was a star act. She brought Amanda Holden to tears. Standard. Simon Cowell described her voice as sounding like "liquid gold". I think that means he believes he can make money out of her. And David Walliams took a moment out of playing Carry On Camping with Cowell to get all serious and labelled Alice "a goddess".
All meek, nervous and teary, but with a sultry vocal performance of 'My Funny Valentine' up her sleeve, she was an obvious 'four yes' candidate from the first couple of notes (if the backstage sob story hadn't already given a few clanging...

Simon Cowell is planning "Pudsey: The Movie," a feature film about last year's "Britain's Got Talent" winner Pudsey the dog. The feature will star the trick-performing dog and his owner Ashleigh Butler.
This is hardly the first time "Britain's Got Talent" winners have hit the big screen - previous victors Diversity and George Sampson starred in box-office hit "Street Dance 3D," while James Corden is playing tenor Paul Potts in the currently in post-production film "One Chance."
Vertigo Films, who is producing "One Chance," will co-produce the Pudsey movie with Cowell's Syco company. Filming will begin in the spring in time for a Christmas release.

The Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists (U)
(Peter Lord, Jeff Newitt, 2012, UK/Us) Hugh Grant, Martin Freeman, David Tennant, Imelda Staunton. 88 mins
Aardman sets sail on seas of clay, in what feels more like an animated Blackadder than Pirates Of The Caribbean. Grant's inept rogue is good company, falling foul (or rather fowl) of Queen Victoria and Charles Darwin in a nonsensical, if inconsequential, romp that's lifted, as usual, by Aardman's eccentric details and fine craftsmanship.
Into The Abyss (12A)
(Werner Herzog, 2011, Us/UK/Ger) 107 mins
Herzog studies a Texas homicide from all angles, building less a polemic against the death penalty than a humane survey of death and loss.
This Is Not A Film (U)

Panahi boldly defies his own house arrest by "not making" a film within his apartment, the confinement provoking a profound questioning of cinema itself.

The veteran Scottish actor has always been a smoothie, and now he's showing off his moves in Streetdance 2. He talks to us about salsa, stardom – and being the oldest person on set
In the middle of Streetdance 2, a breakdance crew storms a Parisian bar to show off their moves. They flex and writhe as the music thumps. On the edge of the circle, away from the sweat and the fury, Tom Conti leads a partner through a gentle spot of salsa.
"It really wasn't about dancing," says the 71-year-old of his awkward turn on the boards. "It was about the connection between man and woman. The streetdancers don't connect with each other, they just do phenomenal acrobatics. There's no sex, really."
Conti doesn't like to dance. He has trouble with the tango, spurns the quickstep. He turned down Strictly Come Dancing ("I'd make a total arse of myself"), but he likes music,...

★★★☆☆ Generally speaking, dancing's depiction in films and the media has tended to be aimed towards the older generation. Then shows like Strictly Come Dancing and Britain's Got Talent came along and suddenly it was hip, no matter what your age, to strut your stuff. It's the audiences of those shows that StreetDance 2 (2012), starring Falk Hentschel, Tom Conti and George Sampson and directed by Max Giwa and Dania Pasquini, is clearly hoping to attract - an aim it should have no problem in accomplishing.

BBC One's Saturday night series Magicians concludes this weekend and rumour has it that the final dreaded forfeit is the toughest to date. "To play a trick on? Hmmm I don't know...I am not the type to just seek out one person to fool... but if I had to guess I would love to fool a magician... or at least see how long it takes them to realize somebody is messing with them.

Why put up one poster when you can put up 11 right?! Vertigo Films have sent us a brand new quad poster and 10 other character posters for their new movie, Street Dance 2. The first movie turned out to be one of the most successful independent British movies of all time bringing in £6.6m at the UK Box office. This new offering brings more awesome dance moves but time will tell if the sequel can be as successful as it’s predecessor. Streetdance 3D was released at the height of all things dance as Britain’s Got Talent was sweeping the nation with new and exciting moves and the likes of Flawless and eventual winners of that season being Susan Boyle in the process, Diversity. If Footloose this weekend left you gagging for more dancing, you're in luck. Blighty's own Streetdance 2 is on its way, offering yet more in the way of gyrating, getting down and general rug-cutting. And here we can present to you the teaser quad from the film, just to prove that it really will feature gorgeous people dancing, apparently in front of giant number twos (steady). The film stars Falk Hentschel as Ash, whose crew (that's his chums who dance with him, grandad) is soundly beaten in a "dance battle" with the aptly-named Us crew Invincible. Ash vows to do better next time, and recruits an international team to help him. Hence, we're guessing, the trailer's shots from Paris and Rome.Streetdance 2 is due out in March 2012, and also stars Sofia Boutella, George Sampson and Tom Conti. Like its perhaps-surprisingly successful predecessor, it's directed by Max Giwa and Dania Pasquini.

Directed by Max Giwa and Dania Pasquini, Streetdance 2 3D sees a lot of the cast of the original movie returning for the sequel including the girls favourite George Sampson, and the folks at Heat got the scoop on the first trailer for the film, which looks a lot like a UK version of Step Up 3D…

The first StreetDance 3D movie surprised pretty much everyone when it shot to the top of the UK box office. The first movie was timed perfectly to coincide with hype that was Britain’s Got Talent giving winning acts like George Sampson and Diversity and runners up like Flawless to showcase some of their amazing dance moves. Vertigo Films obviously loving the success that the first brought, have now got a second movie out with the catch title StreetDance 2 3D which is scheduled for release March 2012.
StreetDance 2 3D is directed by Max Giwa & Dania Pasquini and features many of the acts that you got to see wow you in the first movie.

An actor who is starring alongside George Sampson found himself being rushed to hospital, after one of his cast mates knowcked him out last week.
The Britain’s Got Talent winner – who shot to fame on the 2008 series of the ITV show – was filming a street scene for new film Ko in West London, when a cast member mistakenly elbowed another actor on the nose, breaking a bone and leaving him unconscious.
Staff rushed the young dancer to hospital, where he needed to have his nose reset and a source told The Sun:
“Blood was spouting from his nose.”
But the source added: “The movie is looking incredible.
“George and the team are working really well together.”

Ant & Dec have claimed that there are far less dance troupes on this year's Britain's Got Talent. Streetdance acts have dominated the competition in recent years, with George Sampson and Diversity winning the talent show and acts such as Twist & Pulse and Flawless reaching the live final. However, speaking about the upcoming new series, the duo revealed that Glee-inspired acts were the new craze on the ITV1 show. "There hasn't been so many dance troupes this year, as we think Diversity set the bar so high before," said Ant. "There were a lot of Glee-inspired (more)...

Waterloo Road newcomer George Sampson has admitted that his character Kyle Stack causes trouble from the moment he joins the school. The Britain's Got Talent winner makes his first appearance in the BBC drama later this week as his alter ego Kyle is introduced as a new pupil. Speaking to Inside Soap, Sampson explained: "Kyle is a streetwise, short-tempered idiot. He's been expelled from all his other schools and he's really not bothered about sticking around at Waterloo Road either." Kyle's wayward behaviour becomes apparent on his first day as he ends up clashing with fellow student Finn Sharkey (Jack McMullen). Sampson continued: "Finn's (more)...

17 year old Britain's Got Talent winner George Sampson makes his TV acting debut as a troubled sixth form student called Kyle Stack, a new regular in the second block of the sixth series of the BBC school drama Waterloo Road, which returns to BBC One on the 2nd February 2011.
George (represented by Cam) has previously hinted that he sees his long-term future in acting rather than dancing. Whilst promoting his role in feature film Streetdance 3D, he commented:
"Because I'm so used to dancing, I've kind of done everything I want to do in dance. There's more I can do, but acting is new and I'm learning stuff, kind of like a newbie, so I'm enjoying it more."
George will also return to the big screen in Streetdance 2, which is currently casting for new roles, and is due to shoot in March in the UK.

Not sure you can stomach a 3D mash-up of ballet and street dance, Charlotte Rampling and George Sampson, out on DVD this week? Try Paul MacInnes's condensed screenplay instead
StreetDance 3DBy Paul MacInnes, with apologies to Jane English
Scene 1
Ext – London. Dawn over the sprawling Metropolis, or at least the picturesque bit. Cut to a grand building. It may look like St Paul's Cathedral but for the purposes of this movie it is Fred's Cafe. Inside are Nichola Burley, George Sampson and the rest of the J20 street dance crew. George is serving customers while Carly is reading the latest Street Dance Times. The rest of the crew are at a table, eating fried chicken.
Nichola Burley: I love street dance.
George Sampson [turning his baseball cap to a sympathetic angle]: Me too.
Burley: I love it because it's real and it's street and not fake like boring old ballet.
Sampson: Yeah! Now watch me do the electric boogaloo!

With the release of StreetDance 3D on DVD, the HMVforum in Camden saw some bright young talent take to the stage to promote the film. With fans screaming, music pumping and lighting glaring us in the face, the night was about to begin… We started off with some hype building from the host, who first introduced the directors of the film Max Giwa and Dania Pasquini and producer Jim Spencer. After declaring that this British film beat Step Up 2 in the charts, they seemed really humble for the appreciation and love the movie got.
What are you most proud of to do with the film?
Dania: The thing we’re most proud about is being able to showcase UK’s finest talent.
*Crowd cheers*
I’m now going to ask Jim, did you envision the success of the film?
Jim: You can never imagine the film being so huge, but...

I think the best way to describe this week’s releases is “A week of cheese”. The films, bar a couple, are pretty tongue in cheek, lets have a bit of fun on a film set, not take the storyline too seriously kind of viewings. But this isn’t a bad thing – Everyone needs those guilty pleasures in their collection.
Starting this week’s dairy delights off is:
Street Dance 3D (dir. Max Giwa & Dania Pasquini, 2010) – Not your typical stage school addict kids performing what can only be described as incredible body movement performances, this film shows dancing in the highest quality with top acts such as Diversity, Flawless and George Sampson – All from our very own Britain’s Got Talent. Plus, having this feature in 3D makes the choreography even more eye-popping and unbelievable.
The next to carry on the not so serious tale telling is:
