With the release of season 6 part two on Dec. 30, Vikings has come to an end. While the spinoff Vikings: Vahalla is set to premiere on Netflix sometime in 2021, it will pick up the story of the Viking and Anglo-Saxon conflict 100 years after the last events depicted in the original series. Thus the series finale of Vikings means we are saying goodbye to all the characters whose exploits viewers have enjoyed these last seven years. The death continues, and even though no essential characters died on Vikings Season 5 Episode 17, Floki will still be affected by the most recent one. 

I'm still not entirely sure where the Iceland story is going, but I do feel bad for Floki. He envisioned so much for that settlement, and it's not going at all the way he hoped. 

He expected to be living among the gods, but so far there's only been violence and despair. 

Maybe it will get better for him soon. He's already suffered so much. Every time we think he's reached rock bottom, there seems to be another layer underneath. 

Alfred is awake, and surprisingly, Judith was honest with him about Aethelred. I expected she would be content to let him go on believing he died of natural causes, but she told him the truth.

Exclusive: Andie MacDowell, star of the hit 1994 film Four Weddings and a Funeral, is set to guest star on the Hulu limited series inspired by the British romantic comedy. Britannia star Hugo Speer and Trust Me’s Sharon Small are to lead the cast for U.S. Svod service Acorn’s first straight-to-series commission.

The pair are joined by Casualty and EastEnders actor Bailey Patrick and newcomer Tori Allen-Martin in the five-part drama, which will tell the story of a team of top murder detectives and will be shot like a documentary. Each episode will feature a different murder in addition to a serialized story involving the lead detective’s missing wife.

Speer, who has also starred in ITV’s Marcella and BBC’s The Musketeers, stars as Detective Inspector David Bradford, who comes back to work after his wife goes missing and there are still no significant leads on her case. Small plays ambitious Detective Sergeant Vivienne Cole, who has been running the murder team in David’s absence and is frustrated by David’s approach to their investigations.

It’s been difficult, these last few weeks, to watch the slow descent of Ragnar Lothbrok, not just for us, but as the first couple of scenes this week in Portage make clear, for his ex-wife and Bjorn. The former may defend him, but the latter is at his breaking point, actively calling his father out in a semi-public way by pointing out how weakened he is by the retreat from their first engagement with the Franks. Whether it is this or the temporary respite from the drugs that provokes Ragnar’s moment of clarity at the cliffs is far less important than the fact that he not only restores the spirit of his followers and allies, but apparently mends fences with Floki. The premise of Truth or Dare almost seems like a bad joke, the kind of idea for a movie that only shows up in fiction when mocking lame-brained movie plots. There have been a thousand jokes about innocent games, objects, or animals twisted to sinister ends, but this movie actually goes ahead and makes that its main idea. This is, indeed, about a murderous game of truth or dare. And it is supposed to be taken seriously!

Let.s back up and explain a bit. Truth or Dare follows a group of college-age British kids as they go to a party being held at a remote mansion. The party is in celebration of the birthday of Felix (Tom Kane), an outcast whom some of them had humiliated at a different party several months earlier. One would think this should be a giant red flag, but they answer...

I find with British horror, especially films with smaller budgets there is a tendency to stick to the mainstream idea of what is popular. Set up an injustice at in the first few minutes of the film then have a character come back for revenge. Its cliché, it’s over used and to be quite honest it’s boring. The ironic thing is though there is always a hidden gem that manages to shine through, down to some clever writing and actor choices. This is what you get with Truth or Dare.

In reality, the party game Truth or Dare often results in teenage girls and boys wincing as they must all kiss one another for five seconds on the lips, before jokingly spitting out the germs soon after. Such a pattern is generally repeated until someone in the group either passes out, or goes in with tongues. However in Robert Heath’s psychological horror Truth or Dare, the game is taken to another level, as the harmless party event soon becomes a matter of life or death.

We follow a close group of friends at University, who spend much of their time going out partying, getting drunk and enjoying themselves. However on the outskirts of the group is the dejected loner Felix (Tom Kane), who is beaten up at a house party by Chris (Jack Gordon) having made an advance on his girlfriend Gemma (Florence Hall) during a game of truth or dare.

A game of truth or dare at university goes wrong when Felix commits suicide after the game turns from fun to humiliation. Felix's brother, Justin, wants to know why he lost his brother. He will hunt down these college students until they reveal the reason for their malice.

First announced back in March was Corona Pictures teen horror thriller Truth Or Dare, which we just landed the Afm sales art for. My guess is our leading lady, who's about to pop out of her dress, had a bad spin... Robert Heath, who made the 2010 political drama Sus, directed the thriller "about five teenage friends who are taken hostage by a psychopath and forced to play a deadly spin-the-bottle party game." The script has been written by Matthew McGuchan. The cast includes a crop of upcoming young British actors including David Oakes (Pillars of the Earth), Jennie Jacques (Cherry Tree Lane), Liam Boyle (Awaydays), Jack Gordon (Fish Tank) and Alexander Vlahos (The Indian Doctor). New British Horror film Demons Never Die is the directorial debut of Arjun Rose and opens in the UK today.

We spoke to Rose and some of the cast at the HeyUGuys/Who’s Jack night during the London Film Festival and there was a clear sense of pride in what they had achieved as well as an infectious enthusiasm for the film.

Earlier this week I spent a lovely evening catching up with Arjun Rose at the Swanky Soho House and discussed how it feels to have directed his first film, the actors involved and his future aspirations.

The American Film Market in Santa Monica often gives horror fans a preview of what to expect later in the year. Truth or Dare from director Robert Heath will be participating in this film event and the showing begins November 3rd. This is a horror tale involving revenge and torture as one brother, Justin, looks for vengeance when Felix hangs himself after a night of humiliation. The "cool kids" will only have one more night to live with a game of spin the bottle offering more violence than passion. Last night was the first ever HeyUGuys event and it went off with a bang! We teamed together with the amazing people from Who’s Jack Magazine to bring you a Q&A with the cast and filmmakers from brand new British horror / slasher movie, Demons Never Die at the Jameson Apartment in Soho which is in place for the duration of the London Film Festival.

Jon did a fantastic job anchoring the Q&A session which was attended by Director, Arjun Rose, Producer Rhian Williams from Exile and cast members, Jason Maza (who also produced), Shanika Warren-Markland and Andrew Ellis. The film was shot in just 18 days and from the trailer, it looks like a slick, gritty and we can’t wait to see the finished article when it’s released October 28th.

Arjun spoke about how John Carpenter movies and the Scream franchise affected his writing of Demons Never Die...

Last night, London saw the World Premiere of new British slasher movie, Demons Never Die. Our man Ben Mortimer was on the red carpet ready to catch the talent as they entered the cinema. In the interviews he gets to chat with chats with one of the stars Jason Maza who actually Produced the movie too, Writer / Director Arjun Rose, and Executive Producer, Idris Elba.

In the interview we get to find out more about the movie, how it got made, how Elba came on board and what we can expect to see from the movie when it hits the UK on October 28th.

The United Kingdom's branch of Revolver Entertainment wants you to walk a mile in Tom's (Danny Dyer) shoes with 7 Lives. TF1 International has released some movie stills from the upcoming United Kingdom serial killer thriller Demons Never Die. As well, the latest poster, which shows a bladed character, is here.
