At the end of September, JoBlo Media and Octane Multimedia teamed up to launch a new YouTube channel named JoBlo TV, which hosts multiple feature films to watch for free throughout the week. The genres we’ll be focusing on at JoBlo TV are Action, Horror, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Thrillers – and the free movies we shared this week really delivered the thrills!
This week’s line-up consisted of the sci-fi thriller Loophole, the crime thriller The Beast, and the sci-fi horror film Interpreters. Here’s some information on each of them:
Starring Chloe Lukasiak, who is best known for appearing as herself on many episodes of the reality TV series Dance Moms, Loophole was directed by Jenni Ivers and tells the following story: The future of humanity hangs in the balance, as both sides race against time to find the bloodline of Judas Iscariot. "Whatever caused that mayhem... there's no way it was human." High Octane Pics has released an official trailer for a peculiar sci-fi horror film titled Interpreters, which is a short version of the odd "Interpreters: A C & Earth Chronicle - Quantum 1" full title. The film premiered at a small genre festival last year, but that's it, and will be out to watch on VOD this month. An unusual perpetrator using advanced technology murders the inhabitants of "Sullen Community" while a former black operator and Cid Agent investigates with the local police force uncovering a darker scheme involving alien invaders of some sort. The film stars Ace Marrero (who looks too much like Chris Messina), Terry Maratos, Rachel Kylian, Christopher Kriesa, Manny Hernandez, and Ashley Bracken. This is such a dark trailer it's hard to see anything happening. Another of these indie sci-fi films with too ambitious of a concept for the filmmaker to handle.

Evidence
Stars: Ryan McCoy, Brett Rosenberg, Abi Richie, Ashley Bracken | Written by Ryan McCoy | Directed by Howie Askins
Yet another entry into the found-footage genre, Evidence sees four friends, including filmmaker Ryan (McCoy), his best bud Brett (Rosenberg), and their girlfriends Abi (Richie) and Ashley (Bracken), embark on a camping trip to an isolated wilderness to shoot a documentary on Brett – for what reason it isn’t entirely made clear but its apparently because he hasn’t been camping before! On the first night the group hear blood-curdling cries and see unexplainable things – including a naked man running through the woods and shadows surrounding the camp – causing them to question whether they should leave. Suddenly the trip takes a terrifying turn when one of the group goes missing and the remaining three realise they are being hunted…

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: Found footage flicks are a dime a dozen. And while I don’t dislike them on principle, I’m starting to realize that the bad certainly outweigh the good. I completely understand that this format is a cheap and easy way for filmmakers to get their foot in the proverbial door, but old-fashioned storytelling is always better than pretending your movie is a legitimate documentation of some sort of real-life horror. I’m just saying. Below you’ll find a trailer for the upcoming genre endeavor “Evidence”, a film which arrives on DVD this March. Here’s what this particular flick is all about: Ryan is making a documentary on his friend, Brett, about camping for the first time. However, once they begin camping, they discover that there is a mysterious figure that is hunting them. “Evidence” stars Ryan McCoy,...

After drawing early critical acclaim, Howie Askins’ shocker, Evidence will be arriving on DVD, March 12th courtesy of Showbox Home Entertainment. Written by Ryan McCoy, who also stars alongside Brett Rosenberg, Abigail Richie and Ashley Bracken, Evidence serves as a good reminder that camping can be dangerous, especially with a camera. Evidence the found footage approach, and judging by the reviews I’ve caught thus far; this group of filmmakers take a few rewarding risks. Daniel Wall handles the cinematography in this slater-in-the-woods tale. Check out the synopsis below, and keep your eyes peeled on March 12th, when the film lands on shelves!

Evidence director Olatunde Osunsanmi has rounded out the cast for his indie thriller with Dale Dickey, Caitlin Stasey, Torrey DeVitto, Nolan Gerard Funk, Albert Kuo, and Harry Lennix.
Evidence will be based on a massacre outside Los Angeles. Detectives assigned to the case have to sift through evidence at the crime scene including the victims camcorder, flip cam, and two cell phones, who then have to analyze the minimal footage to piece together the identity of their killer.
"When I read Evidence I was very jealous I hadn't written it myself and I feel fortunate to be able to bring this incredibly unique story to life," Osunsanmi said.
No production date has been set.
Evidence comes to theaters in 2011 and stars Ryan McCoy, Brett Rosenberg, Abigail Richie, Ashley Bracken, Risdon Roberts, Keith Lewis, Blaine Gray, Andrew Varenhorst. The film is directed by Howie Askins.

Do you remember your first time camping? There's nothing like that first time, and in the upcoming "found footage" movie Evidence, Ryan is making a documentary to record his friend Brett's first camping experience. Of course all hell breaks loose (as you guessed) and the movie promises that “it’s not what you think".
All signs appear to point positively to the fact that this one isn't what you'd expect, including a comment from Uncle Creepy at DreadCentral.com, who said
"The horrors of Evidence are thrown at you relentlessly, full throttle, full frontal, with absolutely no holds barred until the very last frame of the incredible end credits sequence."
Watch for the theatrical release in early 2012 and check out the trailer below. You can also find the official Evidence facebook page here.

Since we pretty much discovered the phenom that is Paranormal Activity years before its release and pop culture explosion, indie filmmakers have been sending us their cinéma-vérité style horror flicks ever since. Literally we're inundated with them. Sadly most suck but every now and again one catches our eyes and blows our minds.
Evidence is just such a film. In fact, the last act of Evidence is home to some of the most "Holy shit, what the fuck was that?" filmmaking that we've seen in quite some time. We're talking the type of truly intense lunacy that will stick with you long after the film's end. You guys really need to keep an eye on this one!

Following the recent trend of films like Cloverfield and Paranormal Activity comes a new film featuring "unseen footage" from a video camera that details horrifying events too scary to comprehend. Director Howie Askins brings to us a film which follows four young adults who go camping in the canyons around L.A. While one of them is filming a documentary on his friend, they discover they are being terrorized by a mysterious figure. The screenplay was written by Ryan McCoy who also stars in the film along side Brett Rosenberg, Abigail Richie, and Ashley Bracken. At this point the movie is still looking for a distributor and no release date has been set. For more footage visit the official website http://www.evidencethefilm.com/.

With the success of films like Cloverfield and Paranormal Activity, Hollywood has found a new love in the “found footage” genre. There’s been a some Indie films that have tried to cash-in on the success, but none have really caught the eye of many. However, Bloody-Disgusting has posted a new trailer for Howie Askins’ Evidence that looks to be promising. You can find more footage at the official website.
The plot follows several friends (Ryan McCoy, Brett Rosenberg, Abigail Richie, Ashley Bracken) as they go camping, and run into a mysterious creature.
