This slowburn psychological thriller has come up with an interesting slant on the house-with-a-terrible-secret storyline. Based on a novel by the Guardian’s books editor Charlotte Northedge, it’s the story of Jess (Liz White), a charity fundraiser who’s swapped east London for Suffolk, buying a country pile with her husband Pete (Ray Fearon). The move is a fresh start for their marriage, but inevitably the couple’s problems follow them. On Wednesday, a host of musicians came together to honor late Irish legends Shane MacGowan and Sinead O’Connor with a tribute concert at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Most notably, O’Connor’s daughter, Roisin Waters, paid tribute to her mother with a stirring performance of “Nothing Compares 2 U.”

The concert also saw Bettye Lavette sing “I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got,” Cat Power put her spin on “The Body of an American,” and Resistance Revival Chorus cover “Thank You for Hearing Me,” among other performances of O’Connor’s music. Additionally, Glen Hansard and Imelda May teamed up to perform MacGowan and O’Connor’s duet “Haunted.”

Pogues lead singer Shane MacGowan died of complications from pneumonia, his wife Victoria Mary Clarke revealed to the New York Times. The musician was 65 at the time of his death.

A funeral service for McGowan is set for Friday. The service will be open to the public and reportedly features a procession that will travel to Dublin from the town of Nenagh in MacGowan’s home county of Tipperary in Ireland. According to Rte, the funeral will be held at St. Mary of the Rosary Church and led by JJ Ryan’s Undertakers.

Pogues frontman Shane MacGowan died from compilations of viral encephalitis and pneumonia, his wife, Victoria Mary Clarke, has revealed.

The 65-year-old musician had been receiving treatment at a Dublin hospital for the last several months. He was discharged on November 22nd so he could spend his remaining days at home with family and friends. He ultimately passed away on November 30th.

“He wasn’t ready to give up. He wasn’t ready to stop fighting – but his body did it for him,” Clarke told RTÉ Radio 1.

A funeral for MacGowan is set for Friday, December 8th, and is open to the public. The procession will begin in Nenagh and travel to Dublin, where a funeral will be held at St. Mary of the Rosary church. Ireland’s president, Michael Higgins, is expected to attend the funeral. Other reported guests include Bono and the surviving members of the Pogues.

A star-studded gathering of musicians honored the late guitar legend Jeff Beck with two tribute shows on Monday (May 22nd) and Tuesday (May 23rd) at the Royal Albert Hall in London.

Eric Clapton, Metallica’s Kirk Hammett, Rod Stewart, Johnny Depp, Zz Top’s Billy Gibbons, and Aerosmith’s Joe Perry were among the major names who took the stage to perform material and covers that Beck himself played during his lifetime.

Highlights included a rousing cover of Beck and Depp’s take on “Isolation” by John Lennon — performed by Hammett, Gibbons, and Depp (who released the song as a collaborative single with Beck in 2022); Stewart tearing through a four-song medley with Clapton; and Gibbons and Depp taking on Zz Top’s “Rough Boy,” a song Beck and Gibbons used to play together.

Today Disney+ has released a new trailer for the upcoming docu-special "Bono & The Edge: A Sort of Homecoming, with Dave Letterman." Not only are we getting a chance to watch U2's Bono and The Edge head back to Dublin, but they're also taking the talk show host with them for his first-ever visit to Ireland. The band members have been friends with Letterman for 25 years, but they've never been off U.S. soil together.

The whole thing is set to coincide with the release of U2's new album "Songs of Surrender," which is "a collection of 40 seminal U2 songs from across the band's catalog, re-recorded and reimagined." The fashion designer is the third celebrity to leave the competition, following Vanessa Feltz's departure last week.

Countdown's Rachel Riley and her partner Pasha Kovalev found themselves in the bottom two with Macdonald and Janette Manrara after the judges' scores and viewers' votes were combined.

The two couples repeated their performances in the hopes of returning next week, with Riley and Kovalev dancing the quickstep to Imelda May's 'Johnny Got a Boom Boom'. Macdonald and Manrara then performed their salsa to 'Spice Up Your Life' by the Spice Girls.

Craig Revel Horwood, Darcey Bussell and Bruno Tonioli each elected to save Riley from the chop, with head judge Len Goodman stating that he would have done the same.

The third week of the current series will see the 13 remaining celebrities take to the stage to remain in the competition, following Vanessa Feltz's departure last week.

Natalie Gumede and partner Artem Chigvintsev topped Digital Spy's poll for last weekend's best routine with 28.13%.

Songs by the likes of the Spice Girls, Mc Hammer and Bucks Fizz will be used in this weekend's performances.

Do you know what time it is? It’s time to feel terrible. Why? Because I can’t believe I even dared to critique past guest-judges Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Christina Applegate for their cloying or uninformed commentary when this week’s guest judge, teensy pop phenom Carly Rae Jepsen, swept in on a cloud of bangs and ignorance and offered precisely zero insight to the remaining 16 competing dancers. I’m not saying Carly Rae Jepsen should be an erudite dance critic, but I am suggesting she could at least pretend there’s a good reason she’s sitting alongside real judges. Because to my knowledge, Crj is not a dancer or a “dance enthusiast” (like Minnie Driver during the audition rounds). She is apparently just a dance tolerator, which would explain why she was satisfied dropping soundbites like ”That was really great” or “That was great.” Does this take...

Rock legend Pete Townshend will be joined by a plethora of acts at a very special celebrity charity concert in London next month.

The Prince’s Trust Rock Gala 2011 will feature the legendary The Who guitarist in a lineup that also includes YolanDa Brown, Kenney Jones, Mark King, Julian Lennon, Cerys Matthews, Imelda May, comedian and musician Tim Minchin, Charlie Siem and Midge Ure. More acts are yet to be announced.

Adele's mammoth chart reign shows no signs of slowing down as 21 secures another week on top of the Irish album chart. The Londoner's hugely successful second album holds the number one spot, while Ed Sheeran debuts in second place with his + collection. The repackaged More Mayhem sees Imelda May return to the Top 10 at number six. Laura Marling also has a new entry with A Creature I Don't Know, which charts at eight. There is little movement in the Top 20, although Rihanna's Loud - now in its 44th week on the chart - makes a ten-spot leap to 19. Other notable climbs are made by Jessie J's Who You Are, up eight to number 22; Johnny Cash's The Ultimate Collection, up 36 spots to number 25; and Paolo Nutini's Sunny Side Up, which rises nine to number 34. HollywoodNews.com: Buddy Holly might have been celebrating his 75th birthday Sept. 7, had the iconic rock ‘n’ roll pioneer not lost his life at age 22 in the infamous “day the music died” Iowa plane crash along with Richie Valens and J.P. “The Big Bopper” Richardson. This year, Holly’s birthday will be celebrated in a huge way, with events including the unveiling of his star on the Hollywood Blvd. Walk of Fame, and the release of “Listen To Me: Buddy Holly” an all-star tribute album that will also serve as the basis of the “Ultimate Buddy Party,” a VIP concert event that will be filmed as a PBS special.

Legendary record producer Peter Asher is the man behind “Listen To Me,” and he’ll be on hand to speak at the star unveiling as well as the concert. He tells us the first performer lined up for the album was Stevie Nicks.

It's either Gordon Ramsay night or Misery Night or, if you're on one of Gordon Ramsay's shows, it's both! There's also some season finales signaling the beginning of the August doldrums of television shows where everything is in reruns or some lame show that the network decided to dump at the end of summer because they knew everyone would be either too hot to care or busily making vacation plans since they just realized it's goddamn August already. However, most of the season finales are for shows that I haven't seen any chatter about here anyway ("Basketball Wives" anyone?) so I hope none of you are adversely affected. Anyway, here's your Monday night TV:

8:00pm: "Bachelor Pad" on ABC. Three hour second season premiere. Wait, second season? I think my brain erased all previous memories of this show because I literally had no clue that it existed before...

The 'Someone Like You' star's second collection recently became the longest-running number one album in 40 years, having sold over 8 million copies worldwide. Beyoncé's 4 moves up one place to number two, swapping places with Imelda May's Mayhem, which continues to perform strongly. Following her death last weekend, Amy Winehouse re-enters the chart at number four with her critically-acclaimed second album Back To Black. Winehouse's debut Frank also makes a reappearance, returning to the chart at 15. Another new top 20 entry comes from Rodrigo y Gabriela, whose Live In France release charts at number 16. Adele remains unmoveable as 21 continues its Irish album chart reign this week. The singer has enjoyed huge global success with her second collection, which only slipped from the top spot briefly when Lady GaGa released Born This Way last month. After taking their critically-acclaimed latest tour to Dublin last week, Take That's Progressed climbs into second place, rising one from its debut position. Rihanna's Loud rounds off the Top 10, while Imelda May's Mayhem enjoys a seven-spot jump to number 13. Neil Diamond sits at at 16 as The Best Of rises 11 places from last week. Tinie Tempah and Imelda May have been added to the lineup for this year's Hop Farm Festival. The pair will appear on the same day as headliner Prince at the fourth annual festival in Paddock Wood, Kent. Concert organizers estimate that over 25,000 crammed into the area of College Green by Trinity College to see the concert prepared for President Barack Obama entitled "Is Féidir Linn" ("Yes we can!") Compare, Rte Radio and TV host, Ryan Turbridy opened the show introducing a performance from Sharon Shannon and the Saw Doctors. Brendan Gleeson gave a rousing and emotional speech about the 1845 visit by Fredrick Douglass, Obama's hero. He was followed by Ryan Sheridan singing "Jigsaw". Jedward will reportedly perform for President Barack Obama when he visits Ireland tomorrow. The X Factor stars, who previously claimed that they would sing for the President if they won the Eurovision Song Contest, will perform 'Lipstick' at a concert in College Green, Dublin. As I write this column (at 10:52am Eastern Time) the Us is on the verge of a government shut down. The last time this happened was in 1996 under Bill Clinton and I don't really remember it too well because I was in elementary school at the time. My biggest concern was whether or not the shut down meant the schools would close too. That answer was no, so I stopped caring immediately.
