Disney+'s exciting slate of 2025 shows has been teased, with a recent video showcasing many fan-favorite series' set to either debut or return in the coming year. Among them was the return of the awards darling The Bear, with Christopher Storer's darkly comic trip through the success-hungry world of the culinary business back for its fourth season. In the teaser, which is only about ten seconds long, fans get their first glimpse of the likes of Carmy (Jeremy Allen White), Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), Ted (Ricky Staffieri), and, back in his customary black suit and tie, everyone's favorite cousin, Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach).

A total of 10 Fak family members are confirmed to exist in The Bear so far. The Bear season 4 needs to feature more of Neil Fak and his family, and giving him his own episode would provide an opportunity to explore his personal life and background and introduce more Fak family members. Neil's sister, Francie Fak, needs to appear in The Bear season 4 the most since she has an ongoing feud with Carmy's sister, Sugar, that has yet to be explained.
The Bear makes several references to Neil Fak's many family members, most of whom have yet to appear on the show. Played by real-life chef Matty Matheson on The Bear, Fak was the unofficial mechanic at the Beef who became more involved with the establishment during the renovations for the now-titular restaurant. He has known Mikey since childhood and, like Richie, is treated like an honorary member of the Berzatto family.

The Fak family adds comedic relief and heart to Hulu's The Bear, making them an irreplaceable part of the series. The Faks bring a perfect balance of comedy to the show's intense moments, enhancing the overall dynamic. The addition of new Fak family members, like Sammy played by John Cena, further enriches the show's narrative and character dynamics.

The Fak family is rapidly becoming one of the most endearing supporting characters in Hulu's The Bear. With Theodore "Teddy" Fak (Ricky Staffieri) returning to season 3 after his three-episode stint in season 2, the Faks are bringing the comedy and winning over my heart. Teaming up with his brother, Neil, who's become a mainstay in the series, the Faks' authentic sibling dynamic and comic relief provide a perfect balance to the show's culinary dramas, making them an irreplaceable part of the series.

I’ve been covering the Emmy Awards since the early 1980s, which admitted makes me something of a fossil. It’s a little bit like hearing my grandparents talking about paying a nickel to go to the movies in the early 1900s. Yes, when I started covering the Emmys, there were just ABC, NBC and CBS and a (very) little PBS. There wasn’t even a Fox yet. If you were on HBO, Showtime or TNT, you were out of luck. You had to compete for something called the CableACE Awards, which stood for “Cable Awards for Cable Excellence Awards.” Not too redundant, huh? HBO was winning everything at the CableACEs every year, so there had ceased to be a point to their ongoing existence.

The first episode of The Bear’s third season immediately sets the tone for what will follow, weaving together a few brief looks at the aftermath of the disastrous opening night of Carmine Berzatto’s (Jeremy Allen-White) new fine-dining restaurant. The episode, “Tomorrow,” strikes a meditative note as Carmine tries to recenter himself, standing in contrast to the show’s characteristic orchestration of grease-splattered shouting matches. This 35-minute stream-of-conscious montage seemingly suggests that the ambitious and irascible young chef should focus a bit more on the people who’ve helped shape him.
On the other side of this opportunity for reconsideration, though, Carmine seems to mostly reach the wrong conclusions. In episode two, “Next,” he imposes the policy that the menu will change every day, against the advice of his sous chef, Sydney (Ayo Edebiri), his maître d’ and cousin, Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), and his general manager and sister, Natalie (Abby Elliott). The Fak family tree in The Bear is complex and pretty massive, which makes it difficult for viewers to keep track of the Faks. The show's focus on the Fak family's dynamic and their growing role in the series adds intrigue. The introduction of more Fak family members throughout the series has led to questions about their relationships and connections, especially where Franie Fak's feud with Sugar is concerned.
The Bear's Fak family tree is one of the more convoluted clans in the series partly because the show seems to introduce a new Fak every few episodes. Prior to The Bear season 3, only Neil Fak (Matty Matheson), the bumbling mechanic-turned-server, and Ted Fak (Ricky Staffieri), the even more bumbling handyman, had appeared onscreen. The third's ever-stressful third outing introduces a few more Fak siblings, but it still leaves viewers wondering how many Faks there are in The Bear's canon, especially...

A playful take on the dishy celebrity cameo, John Cena’s part in “The Bear” is an acquired taste.
The legendary WWE champion — whose acting credits now include a top-line superhero in the DC Extended Universe — appears as Carmy’s beefy cousin Sammy Fak in Season 3, Episode 5, “Children.” The 6’ 1” supporting player arrives in the elite fine-dining epic created by Christopher Storer seemingly out of nowhere, but it’s really just the latest course in a string of smart casting choices that make up Cena’s quietly brilliant career.
“Anybody seen a ghost?” asks Sammy, his hulking frame filling the restaurant side-door.
It’s a jarring scene that has drawn cheers as well as criticism online. Some audiences are delighted to see Cena in their favorite TV show. By box office and general reputation, he’s a crowd favorite if there ever was one, even among non-wrestling fans. Others, however, have...

The Bear season 3 has polarizing Rotten Tomatoes scores with 94% critics and 60% audience approval. Season 3 introduced slower pacing, focusing on individual characters' stories and relationships. Some viewers criticized the Claire storyline and lack of substance in recent episodes, but critics appreciate the formula.
The Bear season 3 has earned very different audience and critics scores on Rotten Tomatoes. The Emmy Award-winning series returned to Hulu on June 26, continuing to explore Carmys (Jeremy Allen White) relationship with the restaurant industry. It also recapped the near-tumultuous opening night of The Bear, as dysfunction among employees increased and Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) began considering her future. Along with White and Edebiri, the cast of The Bear includes Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Lionel Boyce, Liza Coln-Zayas, Matty Matheson, Abby Elliott, Molly Gordon, and Oliver Platt.
Early installments of The Bear garnered praise, but season 3 led to polarizing reviews on Rotten Tomatoes. Currently, the critics and audience scores are at 94% and 60%, respectively.

Note: This story contains spoilers from “The Bear” Season 3.
“The Bear” may have calmed down a bit in Season 3, but that doesn’t mean the FX dramedy lacked stressful moments in its latest installment.
Set in the aftermath of Carmy’s (Jeremy Allen White) meltdown during opening night of The Bear, Season 3 followed the restaurant’s first couple months of service. The same toxic trends that took root in Season 2’s finale continued in Season 3: Carmy kept pouring every inch of himself into his restaurant following his breakup with Claire (Molly Gordon), the pursuit of a Michelin star led to him working his staff ragged and — worst of all — he continued to push Sydney (Ayo Edebiri) to the side.
The season also looked to the past, as the premiere episode showcased the inner workings of Carmy’s traumatized psyche, with flashback montages that helped explain all he had been...

Matty Matheson has spent his career running restaurants. Now, he’s focused on a fictional one.
With FX’s “The Bear,” the Toronto-based celebrity chef and restaurateur added actor to his resume, playing the loud, lovable and sometimes immature handyman Neil Fak in addition to his role as a culinary consultant and producer on the show.
Matheson’s role behind the scenes of the Emmy-winning kitchen dramedy expanded from co-producer in Season 1 to executive producer for the next two seasons. Spoilers for "The Bear" season 3 follow.
"The Bear" has always featured surprise cameos and guest stars. Then, season 2 kicked things up a notch with the episode "Fishes," which featured a cavalcade of guest stars playing members of the extended Berzatto family.
Now, "The Bear" season 3 is streaming on Hulu (you can read our review here), and once again, a roster of cameos and guest stars have arrived to spice things up in the kitchen. “Let it rip.” Ever since Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) read these words in a note from his late brother Mikey (Jon Bernthal), they’ve become the de facto motto for a series that does indeed love going for broke. The debut season was an unrelenting introduction to the grueling life of restaurateurs, especially those still reeling from the loss of a family member who also happened to leave them in debt deeper than Chicago’s deepest-dish pizza. An ambitious Season 2 kept the heat up, as Carmy & Co. remodeled the greasy spoon sandwich shop into a Michelin-worthy fine-dining establishment, but it spread the fire more evenly across its core ensemble and top-shelf guest stars.
In short, it ripped, and it did so in a way Season 3 can’t and doesn’t across 10 new episodes. But the popular slogan still applies. Back in the first season’s finale, when Carmy finally...

Hungry fans, rejoice; “The Bear” Season 3 will premiere on June 26 at 9 p.m. Eastern, three hours before its scheduled midnight release. The news was announced at the show’s press conference on June 24, with the cast gathered in-person to answer questions about the Emmy-winning series.

The conversation ranged from inspirations the shows draws from Chicago to individual character arcs and the ongoing presence of grief in the series, which began just after Mikey’s death (Jon Bernthal). Both Carmy Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White) and fans of The Bear got a big surprise at Disney’s shareholder meeting on Wednesday. A few months before Season 3 makes its debut on Hulu this summer, a new clip was shared at the meeting previewing what Christopher Storer and company are cooking up following their domination at this year's Emmys. The clip sees Neil (Matty Matheson) and Ted Fak (Ricky Staffieri) preparing something for the anxious head chef inside the restaurant's back office, only to leave Carmy speechless when he finally lays eyes on their handiwork.

After a bit of shouting, the pair finally get Carmy into the restaurant’s back office to see they’ve posted photos of every major food critic on the wall. Likely so that all the employees will know as soon as one of them steps foot inside the establishment.

The Bear's genre debate can be resolved by focusing on Neil Fak in season 3. Fak is a consistently comedic character who brings humor to The Bear and balances out its heavier subject matter. An episode centered on Fak and his family in season 3 could be an opportunity to give Fak more of a character arc and boost The Bear's comedy levels.
There's long been debate about whether The Bear falls into the drama or comedy genre of television, but season 3 can solve this issue by focusing more on one specific character. After following up its critically acclaimed first season with an even more impressive season 2, it's no surprise that The Bear swept the categories at all the major awards shows this year. The Bear won nearly every award it was nominated for, including Best Comedy Series at the Emmys, Golden Globes, and the Critics' Choice Awards.

Jeremy Allen White has been receiving accolades for his work on the FX show The Bear, and this winter, he’ll be stretching his acting muscles (and actual muscles) as one of the Von Erich brothers in The Iron Claw. It was reported that the network had renewed the show for another season. Early next year, White will be firing up the grills yet again, as Deadline reports that’s when FX has booked reservations for The Bear‘s season 3 to begin production. The show aims to start shooting around February or March of 2024.
White is set to return as Carmy. However, when last we left the chef, he had found himself locked in a walk-in fridge in the middle of a ‘Friends and Family’ night that was taking place at the restaurant. Allen tells Deadline he “hopes” to escape the predicament in season 3 with a bevy of new guest stars.

White stars in the new A24 movie The Iron Claw as wrestler Kerry Von Erich aka “The Texas Tornado.” The movie about the tragedy-stricken wrestling Von Erich family opens on December 22. At a time when the middle of the country needs more movies, here’s a sports drama that plays straight to the heartland.
‘The Iron Claw,’ Starring Zac Efron and Jeremy Allen White
When we last saw Carmy on The Bear, he was locked in a walk-in fridge during the restaurant’s Friends and Family Night, an interlude which White tells us he “hopes” the character escapes from in Season 3. FX/Hulu recently announced a Season 3 of the 13-time Emmy-nominated series.

The Bear is cooking up a third season at FX/Hulu.
The acclaimed restaurant drama series will return in 2024. The series airs exclusively on Hulu from FX.
Hopefully Carmy makes it out of the walk-in fridge and the actors strike ends so production can begin.
The series, which was created by Christopher Storer, stars Jeremy Allen White as Carmy Berzatto, also stars Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Ayo Edebiri, Abby Elliott, Lionel Boyce and Liza Colón-Zayas. Matty Matheson was also upped for season 2, while Edwin Lee Gibson, Corey Hendrix, Oliver Platt, Jon Bernthal, José Cervantes, Richard Esteras, Carmen Christopher, Chris Witaske, Joel McHale, Jamie Lee Curtis, Gillian Jacobs, Robert Townsend, Molly Gordon, Alex Moffat, Ricky Staffieri, Mitra Jouhari and Maura Kidwell recur.
The first season of The Bear follows Carmy, a young chef from the fine-dining world who comes home to Chicago to run his family sandwich shop after his brother’s suicide.

“The Bear” isn’t giving up its crown as one of TV’s most stressful shows.
In Season 2, the FX “comedy” cranks up the ante with Episode 6, “Fishes,” an hourlong flashback to Christmas at the Berzattos written by Joanna Calo and creator Christopher Storer. Complete with jaw-dropping guest stars, top-tier family drama, and a fork scene so acutely distressing it will leave the viewer scared to eat for days, it’s not only the best of “The Bear” but some of 2023’s best TV so far.
It’s time for cozy Christmas in the perennially wintry Chicago of “The Bear,” as Carmy (Jeremy Allen White) comes home for the holidays with a gigantic chip on his shoulder. He’s not the only one though; the entire extended Berzatto-Jeremovich-Fak community knows that Carm has better places to be, and he’s barely hiding it. He’s reluctant to help mother Donna...
