Let’s face the facts. It’s been a rough few months for fans of the Child’s Playfranchise. The folks responsible for our pain and torment would be none other than Syfy and USA Network, who chose to can the film franchise’s spin-off series, Chucky, after an incredibly successful three-season run. It’s tough out there for those of us wondering what happened to Jake (Zackary Arthur), Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind), and Devon (Bjorgvin Arnarson) following that wild Season 3 finale, and, while we won’t have any answers in the immediate future, Netflix is here to help ease the pain. Right now, the 2017 film, Cult of Chucky has sliced and diced its way onto the platform, giving Child’s Play fans a chance to take a walk down memory lane and dry the tears from their eyes — if only 90 minutes.

After terrifying TV audiences for three seasons, Chucky was canceled by NBCUniversal-owned networks, Syfy and USA Network. The beloved series was a follow-up of the seven films that formed the iconic Child’s Play franchise.
It was a direct sequel to 2017’s Cult of Chucky. While some fans believed the show was declining in quality with each season, the ratings showed consistency.

Don Mancini perfectly balanced scary and campy in the series that explored another evil plot involving the Good Guy Doll, Chucky, which possesses the soul of serial killer Charles Lee Ray. Brad Dourif, who voiced Chucky in the movies, returned to the series alongside Zackary Arthur, Björgvin Arnarson, Alyvia Alyn Lind, Teo Briones, and Devon Sawa.

There are so many TV shows about or involving zombies that it could almost become a genre in and of itself, and that's proven even further by the best zombie series available to stream. Zombie TV shows are, at the least, a sub-genre of dramas, thrillers, post-apocalyptic shows, and sometimes even comedies. The concept of zombies – undead former humans roaming around with the singular mission of finding human flesh to feast on – has been approached from every angle imaginable in the past few decades, and they are only getting better.
The Walking Dead kickstarted the idea of zombies on TV and more recently, the release of The Last of Us saw HBO create one of the best adaptations of a video game, but a show that helped revitalize zombie shows with its huge scope, incredible storytelling, and cinematic quality. It elevated the genre more than any zombie show since The Walking Dead premiered.

Chucky and Child's Play franchise creator Don Mancini has shared a hopeful response about the future of the franchise following the recent Syfy show's cancellation. Chucky season 4 was confirmed not to be happening in September 2024, leaving the horror comedy series on a cliffhanger for its many established characters. However, Mancini previously expressed hope in continuing the show to some extent, given the series is still canon to the overarching franchise. At the time, though, it was unclear if this was going to happen.
Now, Mancini has shared a hopeful post about Chucky's future, stating that continuity has always been important to the franchise. Because of this, he said, the storyline for the series that was cut short at the end of Chucky season 3 will be resolved at some point in the franchise's future. Check out what Mancini had to say below:

Chucky stars Brad Dourif and Fiona Dourif have reacted to the show's "surprise" cancellation as they encourage the horor series to get saved at another network. Despite plans for Chucky season 4 having plenty of room to grow following the many wild events of season 3, USA Network and Syfy cancelled the series in September 2024. Despite positive reception from many who watched it week-to-week, the series simply wasn't garnering the views necessary to justify continuing its wild, horrifying story. However, that hasn't stopped hopes the show could continue elsewhere.
Now, Bloody Disgusting reports that, while speaking at a panel at Terror Con in Marlborough, Massachusetts, Brad Dourif (Chucky) and his daughter, Fiona Dourif (Nica Pierce), revealed their thoughts about Chucky getting cancelled. Following the shock news that the SyFy and USA Network Chuckyseries has been canceled and will not return for a Season 4, star Fiona Dourif has now offered hope to fans that the killer doll will be resurrected once again in the future. During a recent appearance at Terror Con (via luischaveztv), Dourif, who starred in the series as Nica Pierce and played her father Brad Dourifs role of Charles Lee Ray in flashbacks, revealed that Chucky creator Don Mancini now plans to take the series to other networks with the hopes of continuing the horror saga.
I have been on the phone Don [Mancini]...so it was a surprise that we got canceled, it was released last night. And at this point, what we're hoping to do, and what should be done, it would be normal for a show as successful as Chucky has been, because the ratings were solidly good and reviewed extremely well.

After three acclaimed seasons on both networks, Chucky will not be returning to the USA Network or Syfy for season 4. Created and showrun by Don Mancini, the TV show served as a continuation of his Child's Play horror movie franchise, following the titular killer doll as he attempts to manipulate Zackary Arthur's Jake into becoming a killer himself. Also featuring the returns of Fiona Dourif as Nica, Jennifer Tilly as Tiffany, Christine Elise as Kyle, Alex Vincent as Andy Barclay and Billy Boyd as G.G., the show garnered rave reviews across all three seasons and was a consistent ratings hit for USA and Syfy.

Chucky’s murderous days are over — at least for now. The series, based on the classic horror movie franchise, will not return for a fourth season on Syfy and USA Network. The news comes four months after Part 2 of Chucky‘s third season aired its finale on both NBCUniversal cable networks.
Series creator/executive producer Don Mancini had been looking to carry on. He revealed in April that he had pitched a fourth season, saying at the time that “it’s something I really like to do.” His enthusiasm helped spring the #RenewChucky fan campaign, which has been rallying support for Season 4.
Needless to say, today’s outcome is not what he had hoped for, but Mancini, who also created and wrote movie franchise, remained graceful in his reaction, vowing that this is not Chucky’s last spree.

Airing on both Syfy and the USA Network, as both are owned by NBCUniversal, Chucky is one of the relatively few scripted shows still a part of the channels' schedules.
Recently, Tilly offered a candid update on the status of Chucky season 4 via social media.

You know you love her, and why wouldn't you?
Eva Longoria is not only a talented actress who chooses projects that speak not just to her amazing acting talent but resonate with her heart in a way that shows in her performances.
She may have gotten recognition from her role on a drama-dripping soap opera with a cast of actors who have no right to be as attractive as they are talented, but Longoria has proven she is so much more than a pretty face and a smile that could melt steel.
With wins from the Screen Actors Guild and the People's Choice, the actress is a familiar face who has been entertaining folks since the start of the millennium.
If this fantastic woman hasn't won you over yet, do a quick search of her to see how she brings thousands of dollars to charities and foundations that help impoverished communities and immigrants worldwide.

Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is a film that looks to accomplish many things. It is a sequel to Ghostbusters: Afterlife, while also bringing back the original Ghostbusters actors from the 1984 film in a more substantial role. It also introduces a whole host of new characters including big-name comedy stars like Paul Rudd or Kumail Nanjiani. Additionally, the film has also served as a franchise vehicle for some exciting young talent who will likely be the next big stars of their generation. Two big names in Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire are Mckenna Grace and Emily Alyn Lind, who play Ghostbuster Phoebe Spengler and the new lead ghost character Melody, respectively.
Phoebe and Melody's friendship in the movie is one of the hearts of the movie, as it puts a Ghostbuster and the very creature their job is to eradicate on a new playing field. Many read a romantic subtext between the two characters,...

Stepping onto a Hollywood set as an up-and-coming performer is intimidating no matter what the project. But were guessing that it was especially nerve-wracking for Zackary Arthur, Alyvia Alyn Lind, and Bjorgvin Arnarson, the young cast of Syfy and USA Networks Chucky. Unlike other shows that center around a group of teenagers, Don Mancini actually cast three performers under the age of 20 for his series, and despite each of them having credits under their belt before their appearance on the film franchises foray into television, signing on was a monumental undertaking for the trio of actors. By the time the TV series got on its feet, the Childs Play series had already spawned seven films across three decades most coming out years before the young stars were born.

The following contains spoilers for Chucky season 3, episode 8
The Chucky season 3 finale featured a surprising turn of events for Tiffany. Jennifer Tilly expressed mixed feelings about Tiffany's fate in the last episode of season 3. Tilly shared that she is relieved about how things turned out for Tiffany, and is excited to see what Don Mancini has in store next.
Tiffany actor Jennifer Tilly addresses the character's shocking fate in the Chucky season 3 finale. The latest episode of SyFy and USAs small screen Childs Play franchise entry climaxed in dramatic fashion, as the titular killer doll's bride Tiffany finally left Jennifer Tilly, entering a new doll body created for her by dollmaker Wendell Wilkins (John Waters). Tiffanys return to doll form marked the end of a long-running series plotline, in which the actor Tilly was possessed by the character she voiced, and may have killed off the shows fictionalized version of Tilly for good.

Warning: Spoilers ahead for “Chucky” Season 3.
The “Chucky” Season 3 finale, “Final Destination,” picked up with Jake Wheeler (Zackary Arthur) venturing deep into the spirit realm for the sole purpose of finding where Chucky (Brad Dourif) may be hiding Lexy’s (Alyvia Alyn Lind) younger sister. As Lexy and Devon (Bjorgvin Arnarson) guarded his body, Jake confronted the ghosts of his past, including many, many iterations of Chucky. That led to Jake falling straight into Chucky’s trap, with the serial killer using his counterparts to distract him while he hijacked Jake’s body.
Bloody Disgusting spoke with Arthur, Arnarson, and Lind about the season finale, where the trio discussed working with guest star John Waters and reflected on their favorite moments from the series so far.
Finding sister Caroline (Carina Battrick) has been Lexy’s primary goal this season, and her relentless pursuit has put her on the offense when it comes to Chucky.

What a whirlwind. “Chucky” Season 3 let the killer doll loose in the White House, where he unleashed multiple bloodbaths, temporarily gained control of the nuclear weapons, and even faced his greatest fear, death, along with the wrath of Damballa. The season finale, appropriately titled “Final Destination,” has a lot of ground to cover, yet Chucky (Brad Dourif) is still running amok in the spirit realm while Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly) hopes for one final Hail Mary to escape death. Luckily, the super-sized episode packs in the revelations while tying up the season’s loose ends and paying tribute to the franchise’s past. It all makes for a satisfying capper to another delightfully unhinged season.
While “Final Destination” hits the ground running with explosive action, it also doesn’t waste any time exploring the aftermath of Jake Wheeler (Zackary Arthur) choosing to die temporarily in the hopes of finding Caroline (Carina Battrick...

Things arent looking great for Jake (Zackary Arthur) following the penultimate episode of Season 3 of Chucky. Bravely putting his life on the line to go where no man has gone before, Jake took a mysterious concoction that will send him to the other side in hopes of pumping Chucky (voiced by Brad Dourif) for information on the whereabouts of Lexys (Alyvia Alyn Lind) younger sister, Caroline (Carina Battrick), while also convincing Good Chucky to sacrifice himself to destroy the soul of Charles Lee Ray (Dourif) forever. Not even death can slow Chucky in “There Will Be Blood,” the penultimate episode of “Chucky” Season 3. With the killer receiving a mortal blow in the last episode, Charles Lee Ray (Brad Dourif) can now take full advantage of the White House’s bizarre supernatural purgatory, leaving him free to continue his current reign of terror as a ghost. While that spells trouble for Jake Wheeler (Zackary Arthur), Devon (Bjorgvin Arnarson), and Lexy (Alyvia Alyn Lind), it makes for an outrageously satisfying bloodbath heading into next week’s finale.

Chucky, everybody’s favorite bloodthirsty, murdering doll, has been a lot of places since creator Don Mancini first unleashed the beast in the horror film Child’s Play back in 1988. But never the White House. Until now. Season 3, Part 2 of Chucky dropped in early April on USA and Syfy (and streams on Peacock here), and along with it comes the highly anticipated opus to Chucky’s hellish White House misadventure, where our crafty killer goes after America's First Family.
