We Did It Medway is a bright, quirky and respectfully irreverent podcast, celebrating the best of Strood, Rochester, Chatham, Gillingham, Rainham and the Hoo Peninsula.
It’s hosted by Rob Flood – local lad, writer, heritage consultant and chairman of the City of Rochester Society – and Philip Dodd, author, publisher and musician. They’ve been meeting people with great stories to tell – and the first episode, dropping midnight on Tuesday 18th June, features Kelly Tolhurst, who was MP for Rochester & Strood, and her Labour opponent in the General Election on 4th July, Lauren Edwards.
But they’re not slugging it out over immigration or the NHS, they’re coming together to share their thoughts on being women in politics and Parliament. More than 100 years after women got the vote, female MPs are still being subjected to blatant sexism by male colleagues in the House, let alone much much worse from online trolls.

"She had the will to win, but she also had the will to live." Transmission Films has revealed the first trailer for A Horse Named Winx, a documentary film about the famous racehorse from Australia. Winx's final race in April 2019 was watched by millions worldwide. From the wilful foal who was hard to catch, to a plain leggy teenager who kept to herself & turned her back on affection, Winx became a front page phenomenon, and in the process thrust her trainer Chris Waller and jockey Hugh Bowman onto the world stage. But away from the cameras, coping with the enormous pressure of maintaining the winning streak was testing Team Winx to the limit. A Horse Named Winx goes behind the sports headlines and spectacular victories to reveal the unforgettable spirit of a champion, who away from the racetrack faced her biggest battle and once again refused to be beaten.

The feature-film directorial debut of John Shackleton, one of the producers at Movie Mogul, the company behind 2011′s fantastic Panic Button (which also debuted at Frightfest the same year), if there’s one film I was looking forward to seeing at this years Frightfest it was The Sleeping Room. And I wasn’t disappointed.

Ok, wait, so I’m confused. For all intents and purposes, Fright Night 2: New Blood is billing itself as a sequel to 2011′s Fright Night remake starring Anton Yelchin and Colin Farrell, yet it has absolutely nothing to do with the previous project. None of the cast returned, the suburban story isn’t referenced in the least – in fact, it’s quite the opposite. Fright Night 2: New Blood is a spiritual remake all on its own, starting anew with familiar characters thanks to screenwriter Matt Venne. All the characters are named exactly the same, “Evil” Ed yet again starts in human form, Amy is back as Charley’s love interest – the only true change is that Gerri is now a female vampire played by the sultry Jamie Murray.
Unfortunately, Edurdo Rodriguez’s “sequel” is the worst kind of sequel – because it isn’t a sequel at all. Fright Night 2: New Blood...

Originally lensed in 1985, Fright Night, from writer/director Tom Holland (Child’s Play), went on to become a favourite amongst my generation and to this day is still held in very warm regard. The sequel, which followed in 1987, wasn’t as successful as the original, yet remains a much sought after title on DVD and Blu-ray. The original film was remade in 2011 starring Colin Farrell in the vampire role and Fright Night 2: New Blood is a sequel to that remake. With me so far?
Well now it gets a little confusing. This iteration of Fright Night 2 is a remake of the Original Fright Night, not the sequel or the remake, which also throws the legend of Countess Elizabeth Bathory into the mix. Still with me?

Case in point, I’m not sure really what do call this latest incarnation in the “Fright Night” series. Is it a sequel to a remake or is it a remake of a sequel? It’s supposed to be perceived by the general horror watching public, as a sequel to the Colin Farrell “Fright Night” remake, but anyone who is familiar with the first two films could compare it to the 1988 sequel to the original. Both have lead lady vampires after a lead male vampire in the first films. See how confusing it can get.

Jaime Murray Talks Fright Night 2: New Blood, available now on Blu-ray and DVD
The sequel Fright Night 2: New Blood is making its debut on Blu-ray and DVD today, October 1, just in time for Halloween. Fans of 2009's Fright Night remake might be disappointed to see that none of the original cast is back, making this essentially the fourth version of this horror tale about a deadly vampire, the neighbor who knows his secret, and the TV horror host who knows how to end his reign of terror. The good news is that Fright Night 2: New Blood is a very entertaining and worthy entry in this long-standing franchise, and that it stands almost on par with the 1985 original.
Jerry Dandridge the Vampire gets a sex change for this quasi-reboot, a hopeful home video franchise restarter, with the very beautiful and equally awesome Jaime Murray stepping in to play Gerri.

As usual, let's begin with a brief history lesson.
Fright Night (1985) arrives from Columbia Pictures and writer/director Tom Holland (he'd later go on to direct Child's Play, The Temp, and Thinner), becomes a modest box office hit, and goes on to become a nostalgic favorite among horror fans of a certain age. (Like me.) Essentially a teenager vs. vampire rendition of Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window, the original Fright Night was about a kid who discovers that his new neighbor is a murderous bloodsucker -- but of course nobody believes him. Fright Night Part 2 (1987) reunited the kid (William Ragsdale) and the reluctant hero (Roddy McDowall) from the first movie, but the plot (about a female vampire with a serious grudge) wasn't nearly as novel. Worth a look for fans of the original Fright Night, but certainly nothing too memorable. Fright Night (2011) brought a very amusing Colin Farrell to...

The “Fright Night” franchise is not dead yet. Not at all.
The somewhat sequel “Fright Night 2: New Blood” is released today on DVD and Blu-ray. In this movie, actress Jamie Murray plays the vampire seductress Gerri who preys over Charley.
This sequel is kind of a remake of the original movie re-introducing the main fan favorite characters of Charley Brewster, Peter Vincent, Ed Bates and Amy Peterson. And the primary adversary is a female vampire instead of suspicious vampire neighbor Jerry.
The horror comedy film introduces a new cast to star alongside Murray with Will Payne, Sean Power, Sacha Parkinson and Chris Waller.

"Welcome to Fright Night for real!"
I thought director Craig Gillespie‘s remake of Fright Night was fantastic. I really enjoyed it, and it turned out to be a pleasant surprise. Fox decided to make a sequel to it, but this one is going straight to Blu-ray and DVD, and it looks like the level of quality that you would see for those kinds of films. In fact, the movie just looks like a remake of Gillespie's 2011 film, only not as good. This time around they decided to sex it up with a female villain vampire that bathes in blood. It's a little known fact that the original 1985 Fright Night had a sequel simply called Fright Night Part II, starring original cast members William Ragsdale as Charlie and Roddy McDowall as the great vampire hunter Peter Vincent. It may also become a little known fact that there is a sequel to 2011's Fright Night, which gets the title Fright Night 2: New Blood and a direct-to-video release date of October 1. Both sequels have a similar storyline. Vampire Gerry Dandgridge's sister is out for revenge. Only this sequel gets a whole new cast, with Will Payne the third person to star as Charlie Brewster. Sacha Parkinson is our third Amy, and Chris Waller is Evil Ed, though we're pretty sure he's died in every single movie to date. Peter Vincent is back, too, this time played by Sean Power. But, instead of sister Regine Dandridge, we get Gerry's other sister...

The final DVD cover art for Eduardo Rodriguez's 'Fright Night 2' has been selected! Following a nationwide vote from 3 proposed pieces of art the chosen boxart has been confirmed as the more sensual choice of the trio. The artwork, shown below, features the lovely Jaime Murray ('Spartacus: Gods of the Arena', 'Dexter') sporting her blood soaked lips and her notable fang. Actors Will Payne ('Elfie Hopkins'), Sean Power, Chris Waller and Sacha Parkinson all take on roles previously filled by more A-list names including Colin Farrell ('Horrible Bosses'). Following the trio of posters that are being voted on for use as the official DVD artwork for the upcoming home release of 'Fright Night 2' a brand new trailer has come bombing along adding further to the confusing premise which sounds more like another remake/reimagining than a direct sequel to Craig Gillespie's 2011 do-over. It lands on DVD and Blu-ray stateside on 1 October, will be wrapped in by what looks to be rather unimaginative artwork, and star a whole host of new actors taking on the roles of previous characters we've come to know and watch develop. The gorgeous star of hit BBC series 'Hustle' Jaime Murray -below ('Spartacus: Gods of the Arena') takes the lead vamp role in the remake/sequel(!?) and she is joined by Will Payne ('Elfie Hopkins'), Sean Power, Chris Waller and Sacha Parkinson....

Although it doesn't appear to be a follow-up to either the 1985 original Fright Night or the 2011 remake, the first trailer has arrived for the "sequel" Fright Night 2: New Blood. Will Payne stars as Charlie, who is studying in abroad in Romania with his friend "Evil" Ed (Chris Waller) and ex-girlfriend Amy (Sacha Parkinson). When Charlie realizes that his attractive professor Gerri (Jaime Murray) is a vampire, he turns to TV vampire hunter Peter Vincent (Sean Power) to take down Gerri before it's too late. In addition, we also have the poster for this horror sequel/second remake, which debuts on Blu-ray and DVD on October 1 from Fox Home Entertainment.
When high school student Charlie attends a study abroad program with his horror obsessed friend "Evil" Ed and ex-girlfriend Amy in Romania, he soon discovers their young attractive professor Gerri (Jaime Murray) is a real life vampire. Too bad no one believes him.

With Eduardo Rodriguez in the director's chair and gorgeous Brit actress Jaime Murray -below ('Hustle', 'Spartacus: Gods of the Arena', 'Dexter') already lined up to play the main vamp this time around it seems that 'Fright Night 2' is definitely going to happen. The Fox Home Entertainment project which will be shooting straight to DVD and likely underwhelm all whom manage to catch it has scored a new trio of cast members that will obviously be replacing the whole of the original cast. So here we go...Will Payne ('Elfie Hopkins') takes Anton Yelchin's place as Charlie Brewster, Irish actor Sean Power replaces David Tennant as Peter Vincent and finally Chris Waller ('Inbred') takes over from Christopher Mintz-Plasse as 'Evil' Ed - yes, that's right the Dead vampire....

Director: Alex Chandon. Writers: Alex Chandon and Paul Shrimpton. Cast: Jo Hartley, Seamus O'Neill, James Doherty, James Burrows, Neil Leiper, Chris Waller, Nadine Rose Mulkerrin, Terry Haywood, Damien Lloyd-Davies, Derek Melling, Mark Rathbone and Dominic Brunt. Tagline: "They came in peace...they left in pieces." Inbred is a little indie horror production from the United Kingdom and director Alex Chandon (Cradle of Fear). Chandon brings his years of experience in digital special effects to this title in bloody fashion. Very gory, Inbred is a tale of several youths sent up to the north of England to find reform with two social workers. They find a group of blood-thirsty town folk who need more bodies for their terror filled carnival. Thus, outsiders and locals collide in this horror production, which is filled with hilarious moments of dark comedy. Tim (James Burrows), Zeb (Terry Haywood), Sam (Nadine Mulkerrin) and Dwight (Chris Waller) are the dysfunctional kids.

Inbred will have its World Premiere at London's 2011 Fright Fest August 29th at 6:30pm. This film, shot in the United Kingdom, gives a very English flavour to an often seen American theme of inbreeding and mutation. Just think of the Wrong Turn series of films and the many Texas Chainsaw Massacre movies. Both of these series involve a family shunning normal societal behaviour in favour of murder and bloodshed. This stereotype was developed in the American Appalachians, to generalize a group of hard-working, but misunderstood people who mostly stuck to a clan mentality. Now, the massacre moves to the hills of Yorkshire, where a group of community workers are in for the surprise of their lives.
As well, this film is a co-production between New Flesh Films and Split Second Films. This is the first feature to be produced by New Flesh Films, but the seventh for Split Second.
