Nicolette is a UK singer, recording artist, music producer, actor, filmmaker and DJ of Nigerian
parentage. Living in London for most of her life, she was born in Glasgow,
Scotland, and has also lived in Nigeria, France, and Los Angeles.
Nicolette acted in Solveig Anspach's film "Queen of Montreuil."
She has written, directed and edited many of her own music videos
and has just finished a feature script which she will also be directing.
As regards her music, although falling broadly into the field of electronica, it is
characterised by many influences, including, jazz, classical, blues,
folk, and African, resulting in a highly individualistic sound. Known
for her distinctive sensual, childlike voice, she has been described as
"Billie Holiday on acid". She has released several solo albums, as well
working with many acclaimed musicians including Massive Attack, Plaid,
DJ Cam, and 4 Hero. Her music has featured in many movie and TV soundtracks.
Nicolette also owns her own record company, Early Records.
