On Tuesday night’s second episode of this season of Dancing With the Stars, Delvey was eliminated, based on judges’ scores and viewer votes, along with Tori Spelling and her pro partner Pasha Pashkov in a double elimination.

Anna Sorokin, aka Anna Delvey, has fascinated the world since her story was first reported in Vanity Fair in 2018. Jessica Pressler, journalist for New York Magazine, then published an article about Sorokin's life in New York from 2013 to 2017 while posing as a wealthy European heiress. Sorokin was arrested in 2017 for scamming banks, realtors, hotels, and even friends from her circle, out of $275,000 in checks, cash, and services, and eventually was charged with attempted grand larceny, larceny in the second degree, and theft of services.

The hosts of The View are not pleased with Anna Delvey joining this upcoming season of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars.

A favorite movie of the 1990s may be getting a remake by none other than "The Lost City" actor Channing Tatum. The 1990 film "Ghost," which originally starred Patrick Swayze, Demi Moore, and Whoopi Goldberg, is apparently on the actor's radar, according to a January interview with Vanity Fair.

The revelation came during the interview as Tatum was making pottery with journalist Jessica Pressler, an obvious nod to the film's iconic romantic scene between Swayze and Moore. "Now I know why they put this in 'Ghost,'" the "Magic Mike" actor said as he molded clay on the pottery wheel. "This whole process is very, very sexual." Tatum went on to briefly and vaguely explain that his production company, Free Association, has obtained the the rights to "Ghost," and that he has plans on remaking the film with certain plotlines altered to be more modern.

Channing Tatum revealed he might be starring in a new version of the Oscar-winning 1990 flick, which starred the late Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore as lead characters Sam Wheat and Molly Jensen.

The actor told Vanity Fair his production company, Free Association, has the rights to the classic.

Admitting they’re trying to pull together a remake, Tatum shared, “We actually have the rights. Yeah, we have the rights to ‘Ghost!'”

He added, “But we’re going to do something different. I think it needs to change a little bit,” sharing how he might be starring as Swayze’s character.

Tatum insisted that, like many other movies of its day, “Ghost” contained some problematic stereotypes.

“Inventing Anna” is accused now of inventing too much, according to a defamation lawsuit filed against Netflix.

The Emmy-nominated series stars Julia Garner as convicted fraudster Anna “Delvey” Sorokin, who conned elite Manhattan into believing she was an international heiress. While Sorokin has (for the most part) stood by the series, it’s former Vanity Fair photo editor Rachel Williams who is slapping the streamer with a defamation suit. Williams is portrayed by Katie Lowes in the Shonda Rhimes-produced limited series.

Williams previously wrote about her experiences with former best friend Delvey in 2018 for Vanity Fair after Delvey allegedly conned her into footing the bill for a 62,000 trip to Morocco; Williams carried the debt on her corporate Condé Nast credit card.

Inventing Anna became an instant hit when it was released earlier this year. The series gave us plenty of true crime material to pour over – but where exactly does fact stop and fiction start?

The Netflix series – which stars Ozark actor Julia Garner as scammer Anna Delvey (real name Anna Sorokin) – was one of the streamer’s most anticipated releases to date, and captivated audiences when it finally arrived in February.

The show, however, also caused a major stir. Netflix has since been sued by Rachel DeLoache Williams, former Vanity Fair staffer and real-life former friend of Delvey’s who is portrayed in the series by actor Katie Lowes.

Williams filed a lawsuit on Monday (29 August) claiming that she was falsely depicted in the drama as “unethical,” “greedy,” “snobbish” and “disloyal”.

Not for the first time, Netflix is facing legal action for adding fictional traits to a real person in one of its dramas. In this case of defamation and false light invasion of privacy, the drama in question is Inventing Anna, and the real person is ex-Vanity Fair photo editor Rachel Williams, played in the Emmy-nominated and Shonda Rhimes-produced miniseries by Katie Lowes.

“This action will show that Netflix made a deliberate decision for dramatic purposes to show Williams doing or saying things in the Series which portray her as a greedy, snobbish, disloyal, dishonest, cowardly, manipulative and opportunistic person,” reads a complaint (read it here) filed Monday in Delaware federal court.

The Julia Garner-led limited series from Shonda Rhimes ended up tripling its audience to 3.3 billion minutes watched during the week of Feb. 14-20.

Netflix has another hit on its hands with Inventing Anna.

Deadline is reporting that the Shonda-Rhimes created miniseries was watched by 196 million hours between February 14 and 20.

The numbers are in addition to the 77 million the show racked up the previous week. It launched on a Friday that week, explaining the lower numbers for its opening week.

Many Netflix shows build in the second-week metrics due to them being available for longer and word-of-mouth.

In Inventing Anna's case, the Julia Garner-fronted drama has scored the most hours viewed for an English-language series since the streaming service changed the way it reports data.

While the nine-episode Netflix series “Inventing Anna” dramatizes the events surrounding “fake heiress” Anna Delvey (aka Anna Sorokin), the actors filling the various roles went to great lengths to ensure their portrayals rang true. Showrunner and creator Shonda Rhimes purposefully chose not to meet the subject of her series, but she dispatched journalist Jessica Pressler to conduct interviews with Delvey while she was in prison to assemble the research needed for her show.

The resulting series is a whirlwind that vacillates from wish-fulfillment fantasy to investigative journalism drama to character study, with Julia Garner’s Anna Delvey at the center of it all. And before the Emmy-winning “Ozark” actress got on set, she visited Delvey in prison to get a sense of her personality away from the cameras.

“The thing that I got out of that meeting was how bubbly she was, how likeable she was, and how charming she was.

When bringing a “whole story [that] is completely true, except for all the parts that are totally made up” to life, “Inventing Anna” costume designers Lyn Paolo and Laura Frecon had to dive into Instagram.

“The very beginning of the project was actually more about research and matching everything that the real Anna wore for her Instagram — which sort of became our Greek chorus,” Paolo told Variety. “And that was extensive research… Even before we got into the fashion elements, we had to recreate that whole Instagram wall, and also all of the court looks.”

Even this disclaimer has the tongue-in-cheek shady tone of Anna Delvey, the con artist pen name of Anna Sorokin (Julia Garner), a middle-class Russian immigrant who successfully scammed her way into the New York City social elite by pretending to be a rich German heiress. In reality, Sorokin was born in Russia and moved to Germany aged 15. She studied in London and interned in Paris, where she started using the name ‘Delvey’, before relocating to New York. With the help of an apparently generous Netflix budget, it spares no expense in its portrayal of jaw-dropping wealth, but still retains the flat cinematography of a broadcast network drama cutting corners.
