One of the most affecting and enigmatic teen-targeted Japanese films of the last few years, Horie Kei's Forget Me Not (not to be mistaken with Hirayama Hideyuki's 2010 drama that bears the same English title) defies easy categorization, veering confidently between fantasy, drama, and youth romance.Based on Hirayama Mizuho's 2006 novel "Wasurenai to Chikatta Boku ga Ita", Forget Me Not touchingly explores the fragility of memories, as well as their power, in the process showcasing the talent of lead actress Hayami Akari, a former member of the now extremely popular J-pop group Momoiro Clover Z, and the star of last year's equally satisfying teen drama My Pretend Girlfriend. In Forget Me Not Hayami turns in a wonderfully subtle and emotionally charged performance as Oribe Azusa, an...

Toei Animation today released the “official” animation trailer for the much anticipated Sailor Moon reboot called Sailor Moon Crystal.
News of the trailer spread this morning, June 5th, (June 6th in Japan) on Twitter after fans in Japan starting posting tweets about a “major announcement” involving the new Sailor Moon series.
The trailer is on the sailormoon-official YouTube channel which is only written in Japanese. Most of what is written is just the time and date of the premiere episode, cast and production list, and when to see new episodes. Google Translate has the “channel” listed as Nico Nico Douga which is incorrect. That is the old name of the streaming video website with the exclusive rights to the show. The current name is Niconico. However, as previously reported, anime distribution service Crunchyroll will be airing the series close to simultaneously with its Japanese counterpart.
