Dean Leon Anderson is a London-born writer and director known for his evocative drama films that delve into themes of family, resilience, and personal growth. His work has premiered at prestigious BAFTA and Oscar-qualifying festivals, including Encounters, St. Louis International Film Festival, London Short Film Festival, and Urbanworld. In November 2024, Dean's short film, The Mediator, starring Daniel Portman (Game of Thrones), premiered at the Oscar-qualifying St. Louis International Film Festival. Recognised for his powerful storytelling, Dean was also awarded the Film & TV Charity's Reel Impact Fund, supporting mid-senior Black and Global Majority filmmakers. His 2016 short, Class 15, funded by Creative Skillset and starring Sharon Duncan-Brewster (Dune, Top Boy), premiered at Encounters Film Festival and Urbanworld in New York.
