Cassaundra Sloan is a Canadian writer, producer and director who originated as an actor in independent Canadian films such as Adrian Konstant's 'I Was a Greenhouse' (2013) and Ingrid Veninger's 'Porcupine Lake' (2017). In 2018, she founded the production company Girl North Studios to produce short films for her friends as well as her own short film projects. Since then, the company has scaled into a full-fledged production studio best known for supporting women-helmed film and television. In 2021, Sloan founded audio entertainment and broadcasting outlet, The Girl North, as an expansion of the studio. In 2023, the non-profit The Girl North Project became an addition to the studio mission with the intent on supporting causes that champion women and girls. Sloan has a Bachelor of Arts in English and History from the University of Toronto and has been an avid Martial Artist since the age of three.
