Jim Serrano is an American actor based in the Southeast US market. He was born to Louis and Marjorie Serrano in Oak Ridge, Tennessee and has a brother and a sister. It was here, at age 8, he discovered his passion for acting when his mother, a former professional vocalist, enrolled him in his first acting class at the venerable Oak Ridge Playhouse.
Jim spent his teenage years in suburban Maryland focusing on the occasional student drama or experimenting with the video camera from the AV room instead of doing his assigned projects. He also spent much of his time active in sports as a cross-country runner and wrestler and was selected as the varsity captain of both his high school teams.
After relocating to Orlando upon graduating college, Jim's passion for acting was reignited many years later when a summer fraught with deep personal challenges moved him to reevaluate his focus in life. Realizing he could continue to chase his acting dreams later in life, he began taking classes for improv, voice-over, and acting for stage and screen. Jim has studied advanced auditioning for film and TV with Sara Mornell, advanced acting techniques with Rus Blackwell, the Meisner technique with Lauren O'Quinn-Burns and Yvonne Suhor, and advanced long form improv with Lauren Morris.
Jim continues to pursue new challenges in film and television. He appears in "The Right Stuff" on Disney+ and "David Makes Man" on HBO Max. His latest project is a lead role in the feature-length indie horror-comedy "Crocodylus: Mating Season" on Apple TV and Prime Video.
Jim recently wrapped production on two feature films, "A Lover's Vow" and "(Pickle)Ballers", in supporting roles, both are currently awaiting release dates.
