Per Deadline, Tracker has been renewed for a third season on CBS. The second half of Tracker’s second season, which continues on Feb. 23, consists of 14 episodes, bringing the total for Season 2 up to 22 episodes. Speaking to ComicBook, Hartley explained how every character he's played influences his next performance. "I try to learn from all of the characters that I play, personally," he said. "Throughout life, you hopefully change in a good way. Maybe not change, but adapt, and hopefully become a better person. I think I try to keep the characters different, because they're all so different, but I like to make a list of things that I have in common with these characters that I'm playing, and things that I don't have in common with them. That's how I start.

Tracker Season 2 will debut on CBS sooner than expected. The second installment of the popular action drama will hit screens on Oct. 13 at 8 p.m. Et/Pt.

According to Variety, Tracker was originally set to premiere on Oct. 27 following two NFL games. However, the network had a change of heart and bumped up the show by two weeks. The series, starring Justin Hartley, will serve as the lead in for the Big Brother season finale. Crime drama The Equalizer is also moving up the release schedule to Oct. 20 at 9:30 p.m. before moving back to its regular 9 p.m. time slot on Nov. 3.

It premiered directly after the Super Bowl, which helped give it a massive boost in viewership, resulting in 18.4 million viewers watching the first episode. Paramount Global has since stated that the total number of viewers for the premiere has grown to 30 million when factoring in added viewership across all platforms.

CBS has renewed “Tracker” for a second season.

Based on Jeffery Deaver’s novel “The Never Game,” the series stars Justin Hartley as Colter Shaw, a lone-wolf survivalist who roams the country as a reward seeker, using his expert tracking skills to help private citizens and law enforcement solve mysteries while contending with his own fractured family.

The series premiere aired directly after the Super Bowl — which Nielsen measured as the most-watched telecast of all time — and reached 18.4 million viewers, a number that Paramount Global says has now grown to 30 million across platforms. Three more episodes have aired since, and continue to perform strongly without football lead-in: Episode 2 hit 6.9 million viewers, Episode 2 hit 7.1 million and Episode 3 hit 7.4 million.

The series was created for television by Ben H. Winters, who executive produces alongside Hartley, Ken Olin and Elwood Reid. Deaver serves as producer. 20th Television is the studio.
