- David Anthony Lewis was born and raised by a single mother in Orange County, attending Sonora High School in La Habra. After a spring and summer playing for the Fullerton College basketball team, it was clear David had a bright future--talking about the game rather than playing it. He studied broadcasting and began his radio career at KGGI in San Bernardino.
After a stint at San Diego's KKLQ (Q106), David moved to Northern California with stops at KWSS, KSOL, KSFM and KHQT as Top 40 DJ. With a passion for sports, he started the Santa Clara Radio Network and became a play-by-play announcer, working the Broncos last trip to the NCAA Tournament in '95--also behind the mic for the Cal women's team's first trip to the Final Four in 2013. For 21 years, David was the evening sports anchor on KCBS (San Francisco) covering the NBA Finals, Stanley Cup Final, NFL playoffs, the NCAA men's basketball tournament and anchored sports on KPIX 5 in San Francisco.
As a DJ at KSOL, one of David's morning show guest was Oakland filmmaker Mario Bobino. The two developed a rapport with Bobino giving David a shot as a fireman in Consequences. The passion for the craft led him to study with the likes of Howard Fine, LA casting director Matthew Barry and San Francisco stretch improv coach Bobby Weinapple.
