Apple TV+ has released the first images from Lucky, a limited series starring and executive produced by Anya Taylor-Joy. Based on Marissa Stapley’s bestselling novel, the series follows a woman who left behind a life of crime but is forced to return to it in a final attempt to break free from her past.

The cast includes Drew Starkey, Annette Bening, Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor, and Timothy Olyphant. The series is produced in collaboration with Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine and co-showrun by Jonathan Tropper and Cassie Pappas.

Production began in Las Vegas before shifting to Los Angeles, where Lucky secured a $10.6 million California tax credit as an untitled Apple Studios project. The effort to bring more productions to Los Angeles has gained momentum following the January wildfires.

The 31st annual Screen Actors Guild Awards are set to take place Sunday, February 23 at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles, in a ceremony streaming live on Netflix.

The ceremony, to be hosted by Kristen Bell, is the last major Hollywood guild to reveal its winners ahead of the Oscars on March 2. Five movies nominated for the Best Picture Oscar are also nominated in SAG’s marquee Ensemble Cast category Sunday: A Complete Unknown, Anora, Conclave, Emilia Pérez and Wicked.

Last year, Oppenheimer won SAG’s Ensemble prize on its way to winning seven Oscars including Best Picture.

Netflix, which acquired rights to the event in 2023 and streamed it exclusively for the first time last year, is streaming the SAG Awards live globally Sunday beginning at 8 p.m. Et/5 p.m. Pt. It also is streaming a red carpet pre-show beginning at 5 p.

Academy Award, Emmy and Golden Globe nominee Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor has been cast opposite Anya Taylor-Joy in Apple TV+’s Lucky limited series.

Based on the New York Times bestselling novel and Reese’s Book Club pick of the same name by Marissa Stapley, Lucky stars Taylor-Joy as “a young woman who left behind the life of crime she was raised in years ago, but must now embrace her darker, criminal side one final time in a desperate attempt to escape her past,” according to the official description.

Daniel Craig will no longer star in DC Studios’ Sgt. Rock movie, which would have reunited him with Queer director Luca Guadagnino.

We first learned that the 56-year-old James Bond actor was in talks for the role back in November 2024.

However, on Wednesday (February 19), it was reported that he had exited the projects. Several possible reasons were revealed.

According to reporting by The Hollywood Reporter, the movie was said to interfere with Daniel and his wife Rachel Weisz‘s schedule. However, some told the outlet that the actor “soured on the role after Queer failed to perform not only at the box office but also in the awards season race.”

Queer is heading to Max!

The love story starring Daniel Craig and Drew Starkey, which was directed by Luca Guadagnino, was released in theaters on September 4, 2024 and caused quite a buzz during awards season with Daniel receiving a Golden Globe and SAG nomination.

While the movie has been available for purchase or rent for several weeks, it has now been announced when the movie will be available for streaming on Max.

Based on the semi-autobiographical 1985 novel by subversive American writer William S. Burroughs, whose work helped define the Beat Generation, the A24 film is set in 1950s Mexico City, where William Lee (Craig), an American ex-pat in his late 40s, leads a solitary life amidst a small American community. The arrival in town of Eugene Allerton (Starkey), a young student, stirs William into finally establishing a meaningful connection with someone.

Details about hit artist Benson Boone‘s girlfriend, Maggie Thurmon, have been shared. The couple has been together for roughly a year.

It’s been months since the second part of Outer Banks Season 4 was released on Netflix, but I can tell you that I’m still unwell. Who knows how long it’s going to take to get over this infuriating season and devastating season finale, but it certainly won’t be anytime soon.
