Based in Los Angeles, California, Ryan DeForeest is a writer and director who has honed his craft over the past few years. He received recognition as a finalist in the PictureStart x GFS "Discover Your Voice Fellowship" in 2022 and as a semi-finalist for the NewFest's New Voices Filmmaker Grant, presented by Netflix, in 2024. His short film, "My Brother & Me," has been an official selection of the American Black Film Festival, the Micheaux Film Festival, and is nominated for the 56th NAACP Image Awards in the Outstanding Short Form (Live Action) category.
