Even in the current era of streaming services, police procedural television is still going strong with shows like NCIS, Law & Order: Svu and 9-1-1 continuously pulling in impressive viewership numbers. These shows usually have numerous seasons and fresh plots that force the audience to think. However, for every popular procedural show, there are bound to be some that receive significantly lesser attention, despite being as good as, if not better than popular police procedurals.
These procedurals didn't get proper time in the spotlight. Instead, they either got overshadowed by more famous shows, had concepts that viewers weren't ready for, or simply got lost in the shuffle. From AI-based thrillers like Person of Interest to fantasy cop shows like Grimm, these underrated procedural shows deserve more recognition. They offer the same mystery, thrills, and adrenaline-spiking action that the genre is so well-loved for.

Legacies Season 3 Episode 15 was the show's take on Star Wars, and after huffing and puffing after the conclusion of Legacies Season 3 Episode 14, it was actually pretty decent.
It was far easier to digest the out-of-this-world elements when it became clear the happenings were down to stories both Lizzie and Hope wrote several years before.
Given that Legacies has a fraction of the Star Wars franchise budget, the series managed to pull off a much better look than I first thought.
The emotional ramifications of what happened while they were hallucinating will haunt Lizzie, Josie, and Hope for some time, but I absolutely loved the way they had Summer Fontana back.
Fontana played Hope on The Originals Season 4, so bringing her back was the perfect throwback, as was the way the younger iteration was still tracking down The Hollow.

Legacies blasted off to a galaxy far, far away on Thursday, where we encountered a host of familiar faces — including one from The Originals that we never expected to see again.
Still tripping after their brief stint in Andi’s cult, our three favorite pandas awoke to find themselves in a Star Wars-inspired reality where Lizzie was “Princess Elizabeth Saltz-star,” Josie was her “android sister and personal valet,” and Hope… well, she didn’t really know what role she was supposed to play on Planet Mystic Falls.

The trailer for Dark Phoenix is here — and it’s jam-packed with familiar faces.
The preview for the X-Men flick, which The Late Late Show with James Corden dropped on Thursday, starts with a young Jean Grey (Summer Fontana) saying, “You think you can fix me.”
Professor X (James McAvoy) replies, “Jean, you are not broken.”
While Jean learns the extent of her own abilities — tapping her feet together to cause a car crash — Professor X explains, “I had to keep her stable. I protected her.”
“From the truth?” Mystique (Jennifer Lawrence) shoots back. “There’s another word for that.

The fourth season finale of “The Originals,” which aired in June of last year, might have served as a series finale. The CW’s supernatural drama — centered on the vampires, werewolves, witches and hybrids of New Orleans — succeeded in saving its youngest cast member Hope (Summer Fontana) from the Hollow while forcing the Mikaelson siblings to separate forever, or risk the danger returning. Although apart, most of the Mikaelsons were at peace — and finally able to focus on something other than their dysfunctional bloodline.
But series creator Julie Plec did not design the episode, entitled “The Feast of All Sinners,” to be a series ender. “When you don’t know what your future is, you want to protect the show in two ways: You want to be able to feel like you’ve given it a finish that won’t betray the audience but you also want to be able to say,...

After much anticipation, Julie Plec finally revealed that The Originals will begin their final journey on Friday, April 20th!
Before the series takes its final bow, however, the 13-episode fifth season will time jump ahead eight-years, bring back some familiar faces, and introduce new love stories!
As the Mikealson clan fights to find a way back to each other and defeat the Hollow once and for all, we prepare to say goodbye to the original family (and possibly 'hello' to a Hope-inspired spin-off)!

Following the new photos from X-Men: Dark Phoenix, which offered our first look at Jessica Chastain's villain character, new plot details have surfaced. The latest report from Entertainment Weekly teases that the movie will feature some of the biggest set pieces in X-Men franchise history, the mutants' first trip to outer space along with, according to EW, "a massive twist halfway through that will irrevocably change the course of the franchise." Sadly, no further details were given regarding said twist, but James McAvoy revealed that this is the darkest X-Men movie yet.
"This is probably the most emotional X-Men we've done and the most pathos-driven. There's a lot of sacrifice and a lot of suffering."
While nothing about this twist has been revealed, there was a rumor that surfaced last month which revealed that writer-director Simon Kinberg intends to show just how powerful the Dark Phoenix is, by having...

After weeks of rumors, Jessica Chastain confirmed last month that she has been cast in X-Men: Dark Phoenix. While her character was never announced, it was rumored that she was playing Shi'ar Empress Lilandra, and the actress' cryptic social media comments towards co-star James McAvoy hinted that she was playing a villain, claiming that she's going to make him 'cry so hard'. The actress has now confirmed that today is her first day of shooting on X-Men: Dark Phoenix, with a humorous video of a "double rainbow" in Montreal. But she also went one step further in a now-deleted comment, saying that she actually isn't playing Lilandra. Here's what the actress had to say in the deleted comment.
"Hey folks, want a scoop? Im not playing Lilandra..."
Even after the comment was deleted on Jessica Chastain's Instagram, it sparked a flurry of comments from fans, speculating about whether or...

With X-Men: Dark Phoenix starting production last month, there haven't been a ton of updates thus far, aside from a few new cast members that have been confirmed. But now writer-director Simon Kinberg has offered a brief update on the story. During a recent interview, the director revealed that the previous six X-Men movies were known for being "human" and emotional, adding that he hopes to "ground" the story of X-Men: Dark Phoenix. Here's what he had to say in a new interview.
"[We must] find a way to ground it so it's not too intergalactic."
The director's statement to Total Film (courtesy of X-Men Films) is quite interesting, since producer Bryan Singer hinted in a May 2016 interview that X-Men 7 may head to outer space, with that aspect of the X-Men comic book universe never explored before on the big screen. So much for Always and Forever. The Mikaelson family officially broke their vow to stick together on tonight's finale of The Originals, but it was for an incredibly good reason. In order to save Hope (and all of New Orleans) from the evil Hollow that had possessed her, Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) explained that he had to divide up the Hollow and put it into something that was both eternal and related to Hope (Summer Fontana) by blood—Aka her vampire family. As The Originals season four comes to a close, it seems only fitting that the only way to save the Mikaelson family and their youngest member Hope (Summer Fontana) from the evil force that has possessed her apparently involves splitting them all apart, if Vincent (Yusuf Gatewood) is to be believed. I’d like to say two things about Friday’s episode of The Originals: First, it was easily the finest hour in an incredibly strong season. Deeply emotional and completely relentless, it was simply the show at its best. Bravo, all.

Klaus may have, at times, been a pretty terrifying dude, but that doesn't mean he doesn't know the way to his little girl's heart. In this exclusive sneak peek of tonight's episode, Klaus (Joseph Morgan) takes his daughter (Summer Fontana) on a little trip to get some of the most delightful sugary treats that New Orleans has to offer: beignets. As they chow down, Klaus tells Hope the story of the first time he had a beignet thanks to some French nuns, and reveals to her that at one point, he was considered the king of New Orleans, which makes Hope a princess. What does this have to do with anything happening right now? We don't know, and we don't care, because it's...

On this episode of The Originals, "Haunter of Ruins," the Mikaelsons try to figure out what to do now that they're free, Klaus spends a day with his daughter, Vincent and Marcel search for missing children and Hope falls victim to a powerful, evil presence poised to destroy the city.
The Mikaelsons may be free -- for now -- but Freya and Kol are anxious to put as much distance between the family and Marcel as possible. Klaus' priority is spending at least one day in peace with his daughter, and he's not asking. In the midst of the family squabble, Hope (Summer Fontana) appears, so her first impression of her fam isn't entirely a favorable one.

No one said it would be easy growing up as the daughter of Klaus Mikaelson — but no one said it would involve this many dead ravens, either.

Don’t blame Klaus if he doesn’t recognize his daughter when The Originals returns in 2017.
