There are, for better or worse, plenty of male-led serial killer dramas: Dexter, You, Hannibal, etc. Many of them are fantastic shows to watch, the sort that keep fans on the edge of their seats and watching the clock for a week when the credits roll.
And whilst critical praise often goes out to the leads of these shows along with the cast and crew, among crime shows there’s one serial killer that stands out as a queen amongst kings of crime. Her name is Villanelle, and she’s one of two stars of Killing Eve, which has once again come back to streaming services. Now, it's free to watch.

Killing Eve season 1, episode 3 remains a brutal and heartbreaking highlight of the series' cat-and-mouse game. Villanelle's murder of Bill in episode 3 sparked controversy due to the "bury your gays" trope. Eve's obsession with Villanelle deepens after Bill's death, leading to a complex dynamic in subsequent seasons.
Six years after it first debuted, Killing Eve season 1, episode 3 endures as one of the series' most brutal and heartbreaking. Given psychopathic assassin Villanelle's (Jodie Comer) penchant for inventive murders, that's really saying something. Based on the Villanelle novels by Luke Jennings, the BBC spy thriller centers on Sandra Oh's Eve Polastri, an intelligence investigator who becomes obsessed with tracking down Villanelle. What ensues is a remarkable game of cat-and-mouse — one in which the predator and prey are equally transfixed on one another. This dynamic leads to many, many murders throughout Killing Eve's four seasons.

Kate Atkinson’s bestselling 2013 novel “Life After Life” has been brought to vivid life as a four-part BBC series by a heavyweight team.
The story centers on Ursula Todd who dies one night in 1910 before she can draw her first breath. On that same night in 1910, Ursula is born and survives. [Warning: The following contains spoilers for Killing Eve’s Season 4 premiere, “Just Dunk Me.”] After three seasons of inventive murder, fabulous outfits and a whole lot of unresolved tension, Eve (Sandra Oh) and Villanelle’s (Jodie Comer) story is almost at an end. But perhaps the largest question lingering over Season 4’s final eight episodes — well, other than whether ‘Villaneve’ finally acts on several seasons’ worth of slow-simmering tension — is whether the central duo will live past the end credits. Here, we speculate on the fates of the assassin and the ex-MI6 agent as they approach their final deadly adventure. Killing Eve isn’t known for its feel-good aura. While there’s plenty of black humor, it is, after all, a show about murder. Beloved and innocent characters, like Kenny (Sean Delaney) — who never did anything wrong in his life, ever — and Bill (David Haig) — who was too good for this world — die in awful ways.

Similarly, Eve finds shooting someone in the hand seductive. Are they two sides of the same coin?

Filmmaker and comic book lover Kevin Smith is stoked after seeing the new trailer for Venom: Let There Be Carnage. A direct sequel to the 2018 hit that brings back Tom Hardy as Eddie Brock, the official trailer was released for Venom 2 this week. Teasing the mayhem that's to come with Woody Harrelson playing Carnage, the trailer has many Marvel fans heavily anticipating the sequel's release this fall.
Addressing the new trailer on his Fatman Beyond podcast, Kevin Smith made it clear that he's among those most excited to see Venom 2. With the release of the Venom: Let there Be Carnage trailer, fans are finally getting their first look at the highly anticipated arrival of the evil symbiote Carnage. The villain shares a host body with Cletus Kasady, a sociopathic serial killer played by Woody Harrelson. Kasady was first teased in the end credits scene in the original Venom movie. This time around, Harrelson's character no longer has wild, curly red hair, but appears with a much more dapper haircut, and not encased in a straitjacket. According to Andy Serkis, the director of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, Kasady has been through some dark changes since the original movie, hence his new look.
"We wanted to give a sense that he's been in there for some time and that he's gone through various changes. ... so that we could really [see] what's going on with the darkness of the character."

Fans have spotted a Stan Lee appearance in the official Venom: Let There Be Carnage trailer. For many years, Lee was known to make special cameo appearances in nearly every Marvel movie to be made. In the original Venom, Lee was a dog-walker who has a brief interaction with Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy). Sadly, as Lee died just weeks after Venom was released in theaters, he wasn't able to physically appear in Venom 2.
Lee might be gone, but that doesn't mean filmmakers aren't continuing the tradition of working the late Marvel creator into big release movies. These posthumous cameo appearances are typically saved as surprises to be found in the movie, but many fans have noticed Lee's presence in the Venom 2 trailer. Carnage's introduction was teased in the original Venom movie's mid-credit scene with Eddie Brock interviewing Cletus Kasady, an incarcerated serial killer who promises to create "carnage" when he escapes. The moment marked the popular comic book villain's debut in a live-action Marvel movie.

The following contains spoilers for Killing Eve season 3 episode 8.
Killing Eve season 3 opens with about as bold a declaration of intent as possible. Episode 1 “Slowly Slowly Catchy Monkey” did the unthinkable and killed off Kenny Stowton (Sean Delaney), former MI6 agent, son of Carolyn Martens (Fiona Shaw), Tottenham Hotspur fan, and irrepressible lover of bare legs.
It was a tragic moment for Killing Eve and one that set up the entire season to come. It also led to this truly charming photo of Sean Delaney admiring his own casket:
But that’s neither here nor there. What’s important is that Killing Eve season 3 was duty-bound to answer the question of “Who killed Kenny?” before season’s end. And in the season finale, titled “Are You Leading Or Am I?” Killing Eve does answer that question…kind of. For while there is still some room for gray misinterpretation of the event,...

The upcoming Venom sequel confirmed what we all already knew yesterday when it revealed the official title is Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Still, despite knowing that the evil, red and black, psychopath symbiote would finally be making his big-screen debut, that did not make fans any less excited to see it double confirmed. Needless to say, knowing that Venom 2 is going with a title that is so on-the-nose about its main villain has Marvel fans taking to social media to cheer, debate, and complain in equal measure.

Killing Eve is back, and deadlier than ever.
The beloved BBC America/AMC drama made a splashy return to the air Sunday night, and not everyone survived the season premiere.
We're heading into spoiler territory, so please only scroll down if you've watched Killing Eve Season 3 Episode 1.
Kenny Stowton (Sean Delaney) was brutally killed off by a mystery assassin as he continued his investigation of The Twelve.
Eve (Sandra Oh) arrived to meet her friend at his place of work, and instead of finding him, she found his phone.
A body flew past the window from above, and Eve rushed down to investigate. Unfortunately, Kenny was dead, leaving Eve to question who carried out the killing.
Killing Eve Season 3 showrunner Suzanne Heathcote opened up to Entertainment Weekly about the controversial decision, explaining that it was essential to the overall plot of Season 3.
"We had to think long and hard about it.

The following contains major spoilers for Killing Eve season 3 episode 1.
Good news, everyone! Killing Eve season 3 reveals early on that title character Eve Polastri (Sandra Oh) survived her gunshot from Villanelle (Jodie Comer) at the conclusion of last season. Bad news, everyone! That means that the show’s bloodlust has not been sated.
The end of the Killing Eve season 3 premiere sees the death of a character who has been around from the very beginning. That’s right: they killed Kenny! Those bastards! Kenny Stowton (Sean Delaney) is an analytically-minded ex-hacker who joined MI6 Villanelle task force at the behest of his mom, Carolyn Martens (Fiona Shaw). Following the events of season 2, Kenny decides to leave the spy game behind and works for investigative online media outlet Bitter Pill.

Spoiler Alert: Do not keep reading f you have not watched the Season 3 premiere of “Killing Eve.”
Oh my God, they killed Kenny! You bastards!
Talk about a shocking, tragic way to kick off Season 3 of “Killing Eve.” Kenny Stowton (Sean Delaney), the former MI6 tech whiz — and son to spy boss Carolyn Martens (Fiona Shaw) — was killed at the end of the show’s season opener. But by whom, we don’t yet know (although we can start to speculate).
After the disastrous end of Season 2, which left Eve Polastri (Sandra Oh) near death at the hands of Villanelle (Jodie Comer) and estranged from Carolyn, the show’s characters scattered. Eve was essentially hiding out by working in the kitchen at a Korean restaurant, Villanelle somehow tricked an unsuspecting woman into marrying her, and Carolyn was essentially demoted, with a new boss.
As for Kenny, he was no longer...

BBC America’s critical and fan darling Killing Eve is returning for a third season! Great news “Killing Eve” fans, AMC has announced it is moving up the season 3 premiere by two weeks.
The acclaimed Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer series will now debut its third season on Sunday, April 12. The move comes as networks, cablers and streamers all contend with the programming and scheduling nightmare being caused by the coronavirus pandemic.
AMC, for instance, was forced to suspend production on both “The Walking Dead” and “Fear the Walking Dead,” meaning a substantial zombie-shaped hole will likely need to be filled in the network’s schedule.
“We know how adored this series is and we know how keen people are for great content right now,” said Sarah Barnett, president of AMC Networks Entertainment Group and AMC Studios. “This season of ‘Killing Eve’ digs deep psychologically, and with actors like Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer and Fiona Shaw the results are nothing short of astonishing. “Killing Eve” is the latest show to see its new season’s premiere date moved around amid production shutdowns and delays for other series due to the coronavirus pandemic. The third season of the Jodie Comer and Sandra Oh-led drama will now premiere two weeks earlier than previously scheduled, AMC Networks announced Friday.
“Killing Eve” Season 3, which was set to launch Sunday, April 26, will now debut Sunday, April 12 at 9/8c on BBC America and AMC. As had been previously announced, all eight episodes of the new season will be simulcast on both cable channels.
For AMC, “Killing Eve” will be filling the hole “The Walking Dead” has left in the network’s schedule, following the announcement that post-production could not be completed on the zombie apocalypse show’s Season 10 finale, so it will now air later this year as a special.

Exclusive: Numan Acar, who appears in the upcoming Spider-Man: Far from Home, is set to play opposite Sam Worthington and Gugu Mbatha-Raw in Seacole, the Charlie Stratton-directed indie based on the true-life story of Mary Seacole.
Acar was most recently seen in Disney’s live-action Aladdin remake and is currently shooting the last season of Homeland after spending four seasons on the Showtime series.
Seacole follows Mbatha-Raw as Mary Seacole, a pioneering Jamaican nurse who became known during the Crimean War for her care of wounded British soldiers. Seacole’s self-sacrifice on the front lines and fierce, adversarial relationship with Florence Nightingale during the war made her famous in her time.
Acar will play The Pasha, a high-ranking officer in the Turkish army, a lover not a fighter who helps Mary build her hotel.
Sylvia Hoeks and Sean Delaney also co-star.
Dianne Houston and Marnie Dickens co-wrote the script with Stratton.

Producer Billy Peterson has formed a new production company, Racing Green Pictures, and announced production on “Seacole,” his first feature with the banner.
The film will star Gugu Mbatha-Raw (“Belle”) and Sam Worthington (“Avatar”). It centers on a Mary Seacole, a pioneering Jamaican nurse who cared for wounded British soldiers during the Crimean War and found herself at odds with Florence Nightingale.
Racing Green Pictures says it is looking to back prestige films, many of which will have strong social messages. Peterson, the producer of the documentary “Shenandoah” and the dramedy “Ping Pong Summer,” also founded and led several film related entities such as Epic Match Media.

Along with Mbatha-Raw and Worthington, the cast includes Sylvia Hoeks (“Blade Runner: 2049”) and Sean Delaney (“Killing Eve”). [Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers for “Killing Eve” Season 2, Episode 3, “The Hungry Caterpillar.”]
Only on “Killing Eve” can a dangerous blade hidden in lipstick be interpreted as a love note. In the final moments of Sunday’s episode, MI6 agent Eve Polastri (Sandra Oh) cuts herself using the doctored lipstick left in her purse by killer Villanelle (Jodie Comer). The name of the lip shade, Love in an Elevator, not only connects Villanelle to a recent assassination in a lift, but reflects her mindset is still firmly focused on Eve. The pain and blood caused by the knife isn’t a threat; it’s a bloody, coded kiss.
Despite this and many other delicious highlights in “The Hungry Caterpillar,” the episode doesn’t make much progress in their cat-and-mouse game and even presses reset by placing Villanelle back with her old handler Konstantin (Kim Bodnia). Compared to Season 1’s third episode, which catapulted the series forward by changing the stakes,...

Still, the ratings in this second season could influence whether Killing Eve is cancelled or renewed beyond season three, so stay tuned.
A BBC America thriller, based on Luke Jennings' Villanelle novel series, Killing Eve stars Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer, Fiona Shaw, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Kim Bodnia, Sean Delaney, Owen McDonnell, Nina Sosanya, and Edward Bluemel.
