Andrew Ghai
- Actor
Andrew Ghai is an actor of Korean and Indian descent, raised by a single mother in Salem, Oregon. His love for acting began early, when he landed the lead role in a middle school play. Though sports dominated his high school years, he never lost his passion for the stage. In college, he rekindled his passion for acting, which led him to receive a theater scholarship. Ironically, this opportunity compelled him to leave school behind in order to fully commit to his true calling.
In 2010, Ghai took a leap of faith, leaving college early to pursue acting in Los Angeles. He supported himself by working in family-owned restaurants while studying improv at the Westside Comedy Theater. During this time, he co-created the award-winning teams Thunderbulge (as seen on The Gong Show) and Air Force Fun while also beginning his foray into hosting. This new path led him to Maria Menounos' Popcorn Talk Network, where he and his best friend launched Action Movie Anatomy. The show quickly became the network's most-watched program, amassing over 50 million views.
Ghai's knack for hosting didn't stop there. In 2018, he became a commentator for Supercell's Clash Royale League, hosting events worldwide, including - Japan, China, Finland, and at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. He also made waves in Skybound Entertainment's Movie Trivia Schmoedown, transforming the show with his dynamic showmanship, and earning recognition as the greatest "Heel" in league history.
In addition to his on-screen and hosting work, Ghai has done commercial and print work for major brands including Walmart, Mazda, Kia, Nissan, Burger King, Sony Creators, Bleacher Report, Honda Financial, Muscle Milk, and Veterans Affairs.
Ghai honed his acting by training at the prestigious schools of Lesly Kahn and Margie Haber. Ghai was a lead in the award winning indie films Always, Lola, Finding Love in Bogota, and Best Bros Forever. He also had a large supporting role in Lifetime's She's Obsessed with My Husband. His career continued to gain momentum with a part in V/H/S/85 and a guest star on Apple TV+'s For All Mankind. Currently, Ghai appears in a recurring role on CBS' Matlock, while also hosting The Break on Tennis Channel and the e-sports league for Supercell's Clash Royale.
